The food was incredible. And the blonde at the bar making all the drinks. Incredible worker, smile, vibe and all. She didn't slow down for a second.

Awesome place, unbelievable oysters! Fun& friendly :)
Literally everything they make is phenomenal and melts in your mouth. Follow @ThePorklandHeadlight for more details and other great food in Portland, Maine!
Eventide is one of our favorites, for good reason!
Amazing raw bar selection. Delicious, fresh, innovative seafood dishes
Pricey but the food is very good. quite a small space tho
Get there at 11 AM to avoid the lunch crowd. Excellent food and craft cocktails!
A must when you visit. Every time I visit I try something new. The staff are great and the and the atmosphere is great.
Must try the brown buttered lobster roll.
The food was good, the services was awful, I am not going back nor recommending to people going here
Beer selection was very good and the oysters were excellent!
I've been here twice over the years. That's one time too many. The food is great, but I think I just paid $70/lb for fried oysters. Go once, but after that you can get far more for your money at other places in town. 5 stars for the food, 2.5 for the value.
Lobster roll with a twist- done w/ brown butter instead of mayo- melts in your mouth!
Great food!! Visited Tim as he was shucking many oysters
Beware of the wait- it's worth it for this excellent tapas-style seafood joint. Great, fresh seafood, and a variety of flavors on their menu.
This is god tier food. The oysters are the freshest in town, the drinks are the strongest, and the hot food is mimd blowing. Scotch Egg and Brown Butter Lobster Roll. Not cheap at all, but worth every penny.
1/2 Dozen oysters, clam chowder, buttered lobster roll, and a Whoopi pie, my husband and I split it all. Everything was so amazing, we will definitely be returning next time we're in Portland.
Great food and beverages. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Recommend for a date or time with friends.
Delicious lobster roll, on a hut buttered roll - but the claw chowder tastes a little funny.
Deliciously delightful. Everything from the cool teal decor to one of the best lobster rolls in the city.
Interesting place for those who like oysters! Good service!
We had a nice, but expensive warm, buttered lobster roll. The chicken sandwich had good flavors, but the chicken was a pressed, deep fried patty, not a breast or thigh. That's weird and displeasing for what seems to be a high tone restaurant. The scallop waffle was very interesting, tasty, and had a nice texture. I'm very glad that I had one, but it is not something I would order again.
Usually a wIt here in prime time. Food is so fresh and delicious.
The Best lobster roll we had in Portland
The Tuna Crudo was amazing
The Winter point select
Everything we tried was amazing and the staff was really friendly.
The seafood here is great as expected. The clambake was especially good and definitely worth it. Its crowded on weekends and there is normally a wait but it's well worth it. Also try the fried corn!
Fantastic small plate eatery. Some of the best seafood in Portland. Expect to wait for up to an hour.
#TacoTuesday @Taco_Escobarr should be your first thought with notions for #deliciousdishes . Stroll downtown Congress to bump into this fine establishment.
Delicious lobster rolls, oysters, poke, and an amazing old fashioned. The hostess was rude and condescending but our server was lovely and made up for it. Would definitely go back, hopefully on that hostess night off. 45 minute wait even at 4:30 pm but worth the wait!
The food is one for the foodie to enjoy. It is trully mouth palate experience.
Brilliant lobster rolls; rather than using a dinner roll they make their own Asian style sticky bun. The Fried Panisse melts in your mouth, you'd never know it was vegetarian. Matched with a great selection of beer, it's great Maine experience.
Lobster stew is to die for!!! Super fresh oysters and wonderful cocktails.
Well worth the wait
5 stars is not enough. Food is amazing, the staff rocks, and the late night menu during the week could be the best deal in town!
Love this place love being with my son hear good choice
I had the chowder. I m still thinking about it, so incredibly good!
Doesn t take reservations. As a result wait time ends up being 2+ hours if you want to eat like a normal human being. Of course if you are willing to eat at 5pm or at closing time you may be lucky!
We ate there last week with some friends, at their behest. My impression after eating one lunch is that it is a seafood restaurant run by, and run for, people with little understanding or experience with Maine seafood. I had a poor experience and will not return.
First, it was overpriced with very tiny portions. That could have been overlooked if the food was good. I tried the much-lauded lobster roll, and was disappointed. Too small, warm rather than chilled, and the flavor of the house mayo was only marginally appealing. McDonald's lobster roll is better, quite frankly. With the many great lobster roll choices available in coastal Maine, I just don't understand their approach.
I also tried their 6 oyster sampler, and was not impressed. They tasted old, maybe poorly kept, with generally the taste of a lobster trap bait bag.
My wife tried the Torn Scallops, and trying to find the two little scraps of over-cooked scallop was the most amusing part of the dish.
The lobster stew was watery and thin, the service was marginal (one waitress brought us a wrong dish, and when that was pointed out she simply shrugged and said "keep it" as she walked away).
At the end of my meal, I departed wishing that I had gone to J's, DiMillo's, Gilbert's or any number of good Portland seafood restaurants. That's where I will go next weekend.
Really delicious food and great service. The waiter I had was pretty chill and gave us an assortment of his favorite oysters which were delicious. Fair warning is that there is a long wait to be seated (went at opening on a Sunday). The lobster roll is pretty unique with the bun they used, the bluefin was perfectly seasoned, and the scallop waffle was one of my favorite.
Came here with friends we put our name on the list and the walked around town untill our table was ready. It was a 2 hour wait. But let me tell you it was Soo worth it!!! Everything we had was amazing! The service was excellent as well!
Anyone complaining about the prices here has to realize that there is nowhere you can get this selection of oysters. We had oysters from around the world and each one had its own distinct flavor. Enjoy the location, enjoy the food, the lobster roll here is to die for!
Awesome place to enjoy creative dishes on a familiar theme, great service, cozy space, worth the wait if busy.
AMAZING SEAFOOD (I had the clam bake and oyster dozen) and very very reasonably priced. Just expect to queue, especially for bigger parties
Portland is known for its Lobster roll. But the best place to get lobster roll is in this place. You haven't had a Maine lobster roll if you haven't been to Eventide. Enough said!
Hoooo lawd. The oysters. And the lobster rolls. Just outrageously good. We visited for two nights...and came back again the second night, and ordered the same thing
Very nice restaurant. Wait time is about an hour. Awesome food and staffs. We had lobster roll, clam chowder and new england clam bake. Street parking.
Had some ups and downs with this place. Their entire bao bun menu is a let down. Cocktails or good but not great, oysters and clams were fantastic. Some other foods had great flavor but middle of the road quality. Overall a good spot. Service and atmosphere were great and casual.
You have to try their oysters and hot lobster roll. We always stop here when we are in Portland.
I feel the roll here is the best I have in Maine. Just too many people and long wait. I think its worthy it cuz they have better quality of bread and bisque, not like regular place regular whatever bread, so does bisque too. Bread is fluffy chewy.
Place seems to be resting on it's fame. Prices have increased. Lobster roll although quite good is overpriced at $15. Ordered the fried oysters for $12 and got 3 oysters. Hmmmm.... At $4 for each piece of fried oyster it felt like we were paying more for the fame than for the food. Food is good, but just be aware that portions are small and prices are high... Plus it is quite crowded and you will probably have to wait a bit for seating.
Amazing lobster roll! All of the food was great here.
Fantastic food. Great service amazing atmosphere. Luv it
Even if the wait is 2.5hours long, still put your name down. It's worth it. My first time having oysters and I'm so pleased it was here. Great server, Meg, who was funny, knowledgeable and shared with us that she spent time in Vermont (we live in Burlington, VT). Great vibe and menu. Just go!
Worth a try. The lobster stew w. Coconut & green curry was perfect for a cold night and a nice twist to a delicious classic. Oysters were heaven.. especially with the kimchi ice! I totally could've had the kimchi ice alone. **Long reach & wet smack oysters were my favorites.
Got the fish sandwich. It was light and flaky and full of flavor. Must visit when visiting Portland.
Go at 5:30 and wait for about 30 minutes.
Lobster rolls are a specialty, but I just ate them in Boston, so I passed.
Oyster, clam and lobster bisque.
Bisque had a very refined and refined taste (green curry, coconut flavor), assuming that raw seafood does not change much, but it is still a bit worth the price.
If you come to Portland, you might want to go to another stylish restaurant!
Is it good to use lobster roll takeout?
Lots of hype. Foods pretty good but man, this place has no idea how to manage a restaurant. So. Much wasted space, and time. The staff and service was fine - nothing special for somewhere so highly recommended
Awesome food! Some of the best and freshest seafood that I've had with a ton of creativity in their menu!
Amazing seafood restaurant. Crudo specials, lobster stew
Anytime i am in Portland I visit Eventide. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their oysters and my husband LOVE their lobster stew. The service is Excellent and the food is Excellent. Would definitely be visiting again.
Waited 3 hours for seat, about the norm for them and should be expected for a really good & popular restaurant. Small portions, expect to spend about $80-130 per person. The oysters are great with the cocktail sauce and horseradish ice, but thats not why I drove 2 hours and waited 3. The lobster rolls are a unique and heavenly experience.. highly recommend ordering at least 3. Pricey but worth it as an occasional treat
I am fairly sure I would have given Eventide five stars IF I had gotten in the door. Super popular restaurant. Tough seat to get.
Loved loved it here!
Oysters were out of this world, we also had the seafood boil and it was perfect.
Can t forget their blueberry rhubarb pie OMG
get here early to put your name in if you don t hAve reservations, can t wait to head back here.
Delicious. In the words of Forest Gump. That's all I have to say about that.
The staff was very rude and disrespectful walked in and asked what can I do for you? Ugh this is a restaurant correct?
We heard so many things great about this place and it lived up to it's promise. We started off with the Basket Island + Winter Point raw oysters. Yum. Then we had the lobster stew, even better but let me tell you the brown butter lobster roll was a grand slam home run. For kicks we split the whoopee pie for dessert. Everything was to our liking and the service as A1. Next time in Maine we want to go back.
Honestly, the lobster roll is not worth the hype. The bun for the lobster roll is just a mantou, a very common Chinese bun often eaten for breakfast. With the small amount of actual lobster meat in the roll, it was not worth the nearly 3hr wait and $15. On the other hand, the New England Clam Bake and Broiled Large Oysters were delicious and I'd definitely recommend them. Everything tasted super fresh and it went well with the white wine our server recommended. There is a wait with no reservation system. We put our names on the wait list around 4:30pm on a weekday towards the end of tourist season and the wait was still 2.5hrs. Service was friendly and efficient once we sat down. Prices were a bit high for what you get.
Really good! A little pricey and a bit of a wait, but quick service fresh seafood. Small portions
My first experience with eating Oysters and wow they were so good. I will go there again in the future and get more great oysters. They had a great selection and they all seem to be fresh.
Everything from the oysters to the lobster roll to the tuna was amazing
Oysters & fish sandwich are great. Lobster roll is snack sized, but delicious.
Always long lines at this place but lobster rolls are pretty good. Don't forget to get a beer or two.
Amazing service and worth the wait. They offer a gluten free steamed bun option, and are able to accommodate all my allergies. Appreciated the patience from our server. Definitely recommend the pastrami steamed bun. Could eat 3 more of those.
Disregard the bitter locals who are mad about paying higher prices for a much higher quality of food from a very modern restaurant and run here! Dishes are phenomenally composed, creative, and what you would expect from a serious restaurant in a major foodie city. There's a large selection of raw oysters, as well. And food is served until midnight, which is a major plus. I will go here on every night of every trip to Portland. It's that good!
An amazing Portland experience. Fantastic service, well shucked oysters and a great beer/cocktail menu.
A bunch of different oysters to try and sample and you can definitely taste the difference between them. Just know the wait can be super long (2 hrs) so check in ahead of time and grabs some drinks close by.
Wow! I love it when a place holds up to the hype. I now understand how a steamed bun can make a lobster roll better and want to see what other ways steamed rolls can improve the quality of life.
The oysters were delicious, but when I tried the pastrami and lobster roll buns, I considered stealing the last bites out of my wife s hand and running away. No joke. So tasty. So worth the wait.
