I've heard iffy things about the Oysters, which is not good for a place that has "oyster" in the name, but I don't care about that. The lobster roll is what you want.

I come almost exclusively for the lobster rolls. By far the best I have ever had- served warm with brown butter on the fluffiest buns. It is so nice to see a seafood restaurant that doesn't use the cheapest hot dog buns they can find. Many consider the roll price high for the portion, but it is SO worth it that I'll buy 2. The beer selection is also fabulous!

Beware very long wait times, plan to arrive earlier than you want to eat.

We only had one night in Portland so I was glad we found this place. It is a high energy place with great food and a great staff. We had some oysters, a lobster roll and the poke special. It was all excellent!

The oysters are so fresh, and the variety is incredible! After driving 9 hours in a snowstorm from New Jersey, Eventide Oyster Co. alone made the trek worth it. The service, the selection of oysters and the cocktail menu was on point. I would definitely recommend trying the Eros oysters!

Incredible lobster roll, one of the best I've ever had. They are on the smaller side, but absolutely worth it. The fried clams are just ok. They don't really have much flavor, but they were good with the veggies underneath. The oysters were also buttery and delicious. Will definitely come back here on my next trip to Portland.

Glidden Point & Eros are by far the best oysters I have ever had in my entire life. Other than popping my own oysters in Bolinas CA. These are no joke. The line her is first come first serve they don t take reservations. So if your coming here expect to wait over an hour no matter what time of the day. One last thing order the Halibut carpaccio so you can get your mind blown after eating those amazing oysters

Expensive but worth it. Every single dish I've ordered was delicious and they make the best Old Fashioned on the planet. The place is upscale but casual. I believe the food is locally sourced when possible. The staff is friendly. And the place is always packed. I stop in for a bite and a drink every time I come to Portland.

Great oysters, delicious exotic drinks and more great food. The wait can be up to two hours to be seated, your phone becomes the pager with a text. Well worth it, you will not be disappointed. They have a winning business format.

This place had a long wait time all weekend long, so I decided to order takeout instead. I ordered the lobster roll and the fried chicken bun. Both were good, but are very small portion sized. I would order 2-3 items from the menu, if you're feeling hungry.

Top drawer stuff. Love the accoutrements where you can get a range of shaved ices e.g Togarashi, lemon pepper as well as the classics to go with your oysters. Excellent cocktails. The Dirty Dirty martini was great! Fantastic service too, and they take dogs.

Three hour wait the first time we tried and we eventually went elsewhere. Two+ hours the next night so we felt like we owed it to ourselves and all the rave to try Eventide out. The dozen oysters were a nice variety and good flavor. The tuna crudo was good. My son also got the tuna carpaccio, which was decent. They were out of two beers I wanted to try and the service was average at best.

All in all, there are better places within walking distance.

The food is good, no doubt. However, the staff is extremely rude and they speak to you like you are incompetent. I m local and enjoy going out to dinner at the amazing restaurants in Portland, especially after a long work week. Working in the service industry during tourist season is stressful, I get it. I have been there myself. But who feels like being treated like an annoying tourist when you re out to have fun, eat good food and relax? Even I were a tourist , this would still be unacceptable. Unfortunately, this was the second time. I can pay for a meal elsewhere without the attitude. Be kind.

We actually had a 3 hour wait for a table so we have them out cell number and checked into our room. They texted us 30 minutes ahead to warm us, giving us plenty of time to make it there before closing. It actually worked it well.

My friend and I had the clam chowder, which was quite good. It actually helped that it was warm because we were in the outside seating area pretty late in the evening in September.

I had two half-dozen oysters, each type was awesome. There was a selection of accoutrements for the oysters as well that added some nice flavor. My wife had the brown butter lobster roll which she really enjoyed. She also had lobster puffs, which looked like pork rinds but were delicious.

There was a nice beer list with good craft selections as well.

Be aware that this place is busy! Our wait staff was pleasant and attentive, which - along with the great food - helped make the wait well worth it.

The buzz is real. Try the clam bake, with mussels, clams, potatoes, pork belly, and even a lobster tail. It's enough for two to share for a light meal or split a sandwich or grab a bowl of chowder to make it a dinner. Good beer selection.

I was so late to the game getting to Eventide. Heard for years how great it was and it did not disappoint in the slightest. Great and helpful staff. Their brown butter lobster roll was a unique take that I enjoyed. The oysters of course are the main event here and they were phenomenal. So fresh, and so many different options. The ices served with the oysters are great without overpowering the taste of the oyster itself. A little pricey but worth it. Highly recommend.

Very good. 3 hour wait good?.. not imho. Oysters are great, very fresh. BUT, do not wate your $ on the lobster roll. I do not understand the hype there at all. Very small, and not much flavor. Its a sister schubert type roll, which I actually didnt think was complimentary.

Everything else was solid, good service too

I love oysters, and this place has the best selection of oysters I've ever come across, any where in the country. Expect to have atleast 30+ varieties available. The interior is beautiful, but the place is high energy is usually packed for dinner. The lobster roll was delicious too, but very VERY small. Think tapas version lobster roll.

Came here on my own while on a work trip to Portland- it only took 10 minutes for a solo seat to open up at the bar. It was a comfortable place to grab a snack alone, and I had heard great things. I had a half dozen oysters, and the clam chowder. It was absolutely delicious- my server was super friendly and I will make sure to come back every time I'm in town.

Could have camped out here the WHOLE day trying different things, but if you're in a time crunch, do yourself a favor and grab a lobster roll. If they're full (usually are!) See if they have any standing room spaces. They have a few bar height leaning counters and it saved us a 45 minute wait. Food comes out fast and the homemade buns are to die for. Little soft pillows for lobster to lay in!

A lot of well-deserved hype. We had the lobster bisque and a carpaccio that were fantastic. We liked how friendly all of the service team were (we had multiple people help us while we were there). We went on an off hour since this place can get backed up at times.

Food is pretty good and the ambiance is very nice but honestly the amount of food you get for the price is ridiculous, maybe I'm not hip enough to understand, but paying over 50 bucks for one person and expecting to leave full should be a given, but I was just as hungry leaving as I was arriving, I truly dont understand who is rating a RIP off like this so highly?

This is now my first stop when I arrive in Portland. Oysters are amazing. Cocktails are very strong just FYI. There is no self seating here, even at the bar, the hostess must seat you. I saw like 5 different people make that mistake during my visit today, lol. They are open fairly late. I got two different lobster dishes, the roll and the stew and the meat was fresh and sweet.

Got takeout from here because the wait list was a bit long but for EXCELLENT reason! Takeout was super quick, only waited about 20 minutes for it. The fried oyster sandwich was absolutely delicious and the brown butter lobster roll was simply decadent. The staff was so kind even in our brief interactions. From my observations I was very pleased with their COVID precautions and general attitude. They had plenty of outdoor seating or some city parks to sit in nearby. Would return!

In all fairness I m not much of an oyster person but my wife is and she loved them. She went on about their pink onion ice chips that you add to the oyster or maybe it was garlic flavored.
We both got the $15 lobster roll and it was pretty sad as far as a lobster roll. The flavor was pretty good with the roasted butter but the lobster portion was tiny and mostly shreds of lobster in this tiny Asian roll I think they called it.
I would go back for my wife but for my pallet I would keep on walking till you find a Boston style lobster roll

Great oysters. They were having a buck an oyster snow special so we decided to eat at the rail while we waited for a seat to open. Oysters were fresh and delicious and the horseradish ice and other accoutrements were delightful. Oysters are clearly what they do best.

Do I really need to write a review? If you like Oysters, this is THE place. I've been several times and they are the best. Some of the other dishes are not always 5 stars but the oysters are awesome as well as the staff.

The process sizes are small, but everything's delicious. I'm a fan of the variety of oysters they have and the staff is knowledgeable about them; they brought out an assortment of mildly briney and meaty oysters for us that hit the spot. The lobster roll is delicious, and we had a scallop waffle that was memorable in the sense that it was insanely bizarre. Pricy and liable to get crowded, but worth the wait and money. I'd recommend getting your first ever lobster roll somewhere else because this will set the bar rather high.

This place is obviously trending as the wait was ridiculous, but I can say the local following is loyal, as several people in line assured my party it was worth the wait. That in itself says something about this establishment and it's place in the Portland food scene. For me, I'm not sure the food matched the hype but I will say the offerings are unique and unlike other offerings nearby. Oysters, clams, stew, and buns all very tasty. Overall I enjoyed my meal and would dine here again, but I'm not sure I would wait 90 mins as we were first told upon arrival.(actually wait was only 65 min)
But this place is happening and is clearly doing something right.

Eventide has a small space with lots of natural light that they make the most of. A very popular spot, it's best to get there early to get your name on the list and sip on a beverage while you wait. People complain about the wait, but if you know what you're getting into, it's not a big deal. Popular places are going to be in high demand. The oysters are mostly from Maine and taste great. Lots of different flavors from briney to melony. I also had a tuna tartare that was one of the best I've ever had. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved the playlist!!

Oh my god Becky! Eventide is a superbly impressive and fun place to eat. The staff is absolutely wonderful and food is amazing. I generally do not like lobster rolls, they fixed that. Please don't leave without getting one. Oyster selection is mostly local and very friendly people are knowledgable and educational. Neat beer selection, awesome cocktails, and fun oyster shooter selections. Fantastic in every way. Love you all. Thank you for such wonderful times!

Came here for dinner on Saturday. The wait time was an hour and half but the food was well worth the wait! We were texted when our seats were ready so we were able to go out and explore downtown Portland while waiting for a table to open up. I got the lobster roll and it was delicious, it came on a steamed bun that was a nice change of pace from the usual toasted roll.

Unfortunately this was our worst restaurant experience in Portland. We were seated before two other tables, had our order taken first, after both tables got their oysters, then one of them got a second round, and over 30min we went inside to get our check and leave. They of course did not charge us for what we didn't get. They comped us $30 after my sister in law had to complain. It was unfortunate, but we were lucky to find a great place to go to instead... Blith & Burroughs... Amazing

Food was really good, but, the service leaves a lot to be desired. Oysters came out after the food was done. Water wasn't even poured for us. Staff just dumped a bottle with some glasses at the stool seating we waited over an hour for.
