Maverick rental

Maverick rental
This was our second time renting from Escape and we have found it to be an economical way to adventure in regions we can fly into and then easily have an adventurous road trip/camping experience. Their service is great.
Positives: price, amenities included, convenience to/from airport. Hit the grocery store and go!
Opportunities: Our #1 piece of advice would be to purchase a simple egg crate topper for the fold out bed, this makes a great deal of a difference. In colder temps (overnights in the 30s) a small double tent may be warmer than uninsulated campervans. A list or resource to assist in locating camping w electric hookups (for provided electric heater) within regions would be helpful for colder months.
We did find a small Honda generator rental company (part of CO Campervans) out of Denver that in hindsight we would ve rented a 1000 watt generator for the week for only an additional $350 to power heater.
Overall, we will definitely be using Escape again, in warmer months/regions.

Went a road trip through the North West and this was perfect. It was just me, I got the Maverick and it was a perfect fit. Even if I had a passenger, we would have fit no problem. Loved it! Also, dig the individual, hand-painted, creativity poured into each van.

Our trip (me and my wife) started out in LA and we...

Our trip (me and my wife) started out in LA and we planned to drive to Denver and camp along the way at or near several national parks. We were looking to rent from a rental company which had camping vans available which allowed us to return the van at an alternate location. There a very few providers of this type of rental. Was not sure what to expect as we've never done anything like this. The drop-off to a different location from pickup does add an addiitional fee to the bill. One of our concerns were the age of the vans. We opted for the Maverick (2012 Ford E150), but they are on the older side. Our vehicle had over 200k miles on it and this was on the lower side when we were given options for this model. Normally the checkout process might take a while but we called ahead and they were nice enough to let us come in earlier to get it done ahead of our scheduled time. We almost went for the Big Sur model (Ford 2017 model) which are newer, but they are a bit bigger (has an extra row of seats) and more expensive than what we needed. They gave us a briefing on the vehicle and showed us how everything works. It's all very simple and straight forward. We also opted for some of the extras like the kitchen kit, bedding kit and electrical kit. The bedding kit came with pillows and sheets. The kitchen kit came with pots, cups, kitchen implements, plus $5 for a propane cannister to be used with the propane stove in the back. Finally, the electrical kit came with a long extension cord, power strip and a portable fan. It is just meant to be plugged into outlets to power your phone or lights. Out of all the kits we got, this was probably the most unnecessary. Seemed a bit overpriced and we could have just bought our own cords and be good at any campsite which offered electrical hookups. We also made sure to bring our own car electrical adapters (the ones with USB connections which plug into the cigarette lighter) with us so we can charge our devices on the road. This vehicle does not have USB ports. We also opted to get the full insurance which covered almost any issue which we might run into. We had very few issues with the van. A couple of things we ran into were the sink in the back section of the van did not always work correctly. We had to have the water reservoir almost completely full in order to be able to get the manual pump on the sink to work. Another minor issue was that when we hit roads which were going to high elevations, the van struggled a little bit, but we never had any mechanical problems. It pulled through just fine. We had a blast travelling on this van through the southwest. If you're not used to driving such a big vehicle, it was not difficult or intimidating. I even managed to parellel park the thing while we were in a city. Our van was an unforgettable part of our trip. We definitely plan on going on these types of trips again. Escape Vans were a good introduction to campervanning. Overall, a great experience. Keep in mind that the additions to the van we got such as alternate drop off location, insurance, the additional kits, mileage overage fees, gas, food, supplies and camp site costs do add up to the total, more than you might expect. Give them a try if you'd like to go on a camper van Adventure.

If you're thinking of booking a road trip through the States, Escape are the best option out there bar none. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and professional and made a huge difference in our planning. The vans themselves are superb, fully kitted out and in excellent condition, we lost count of the amount of times we were complimented on our van's paint work. Would highly recommend the company to anybody looking to do a road trip, whether its a shorter long weekend style trip or a longer month plus trip - these guys have you covered!

Great business of getting people what they need for a camping or glamping trip! We did nine lovely days in CO in an awesome van. The staff were informative and friendly, but aside from dropoff and pickup, needed nothing during the trip. Definitely renting an Escape van again when the trip requires it.

My wife and I had a wonderful two week trip in the southwest in the camper van. The fold out bed was comfortable to sleep on, and the van handled dirt roads very well. The service team was professional and courteous both in getting and returning the van. We look forward to our next trip.

We flew into Denver from Northern California. The van was ready and waiting! We drove over 1800 miles to whitewater rafting in Cotopaxi, CO with our son and on into South Dakota and back. The van handled well, in rain and wind and gorgeous sun! I couldn't recommend Escape Vans more highly! The reps we worked with were all helpful and enjoyable to talk to. Couldn't beat the price to have your rolling hotel right there with you.

I suggest you pay the extra money and rent a small RV! We showed up to the campervan Denver location and they only had one van for us to choose from out of their 350+ unique hand painted vans. So we were issued the "Hitchcock" van which had a slipping transmission, an air conditioner which cut in and out, a broken cruise control switch, and hardly any windshield washer fluid. It's hard for me to understand how any vehicle rental company could not be aware of these issues if the vehicles are serviced regularly or at least have a vehicle to replace it at their location.

We had the road trip of our lives in our Escape Camper Van! It couldn't have been better. The van was clean and laid out perfectly. The check in process with the staff in Aurora was easy and they made us feel super comfortable with our van.

We had fun telling people we met along the way about our "cool van".

We will definitely rent again. So Much Fun!

Thanks so much to all of you in Aurora!

Safe travels everyone,

Chris and Julie Adriansen

Definitely recommend this company for a camper van rental adventure! Easy to book, pickup, good prices and a great ride - we got the Maverick, which had a stove/sink/cooler and table/bed convert inside. Recommend bringing your own string of lights and an inverter to plug in an extension cord to really make the experience lovely. It fit our two large tubs, propane and fire pit great, along with bags and bedding. Plenty of space for food in the kitchen area! Kind employees and quick return were a big plus, too.

Was an amazing trip, and easily the cheapest option. A friend and I got a camper from Denver went out to Moab and back through the ski resorts. The staff were super helpful and the van was clean and perfect. The water froze while at the ski feilds but that is to be expected. 100% will rent from there again.

We rented an Escape Campervan for two months this ...

We rented an Escape Campervan for two months this summer and I highly recommend them. This vehicle became our home for the summer as we traveled to 14 national parks throughout CO, UT, AZ, WY, and MT.

The Ford E150 had about 212,000 miles on it when we picked it up, but it was well maintained and we did not run into any mechanical problems. The vehicle was easy to drive and it can fit in just about any parking spot even inside parking garages. The bed was very comfortable and well designed. The refrigerator worked extremely well and allowed us to cook a wide variety of meals. Having a built in water tank and sink was also extremely helpful.

Each time I called to ask a question before and during the trip, they were responsive and able to get me an answer right away. When we picked up the van, the staff were super friendly and gave us tips about routes and how to use the van. I would absolutely rent from Escape again next time I'm looking for a campervan.

Spent 6 days touring Colorado in "Blue Flame" and had a wonderful time! When we picked up the van Cary was extremely helpful not just in showing us all of the van's features, but in suggesting stops along our route. We had an infinitely better trip with his recommendations. The van was clean and fully equipped with sealed/new sheets, cookware, propane for the stove, clean water for the sink, the fridge was running great, and Cary even lent us a phone charger adapter. He showed us their collection of items donated by prior guests and we scored some roasting sticks and other handy supplies. The van drove exceedingly well and had surprisingly good pick-up. The bed was comfy and easily accommodated 2 people.

Overall our experience could not have been better. I would recommend Escape Campervans Denver in a heartbeat and hope I will have the chance to take another trip with them! Thank you!

My husband and I rented a van from Escape in Denver. The van was TOTALLY awesome. It was clean, it had everything we needed to be comfy including a fully stocked kitchen, sheets, pillows and road map. There was also a heater that came in handy on cold nights up in the mountains.

We loved staying in the van for the week and we're already dreaming up our next Escape adventure!

Amazing experience! The van has everything you need from storage to a decent bed. This is luxury camping and in the winter the van stays warm until in the middle of the night but they offer an electric heater to rent. Awesome van! I felt safe due to the staff checking everything before we rented it, and they offered amazing customer service. We definitely will do this again!

My partner and I rented the Maverick from Escape...

My partner and I rented the Maverick from Escape Campervans for a 10 day vacation through New Mexico. This road trip was one of the best vacations we ve ever been on and the campervan was an integral part to the trip. Logistically, it was extremely easy to rent and work with Escape Campervans. We were able to book everything online and order any extra items we needed (i.e. propane tank and camp kitchen utensils). We booked this trip during the middle of the COVID-19 epidemic and so while we did need to interact with a person face to face when we picked up and dropped off the van everyone, the interactions were purposefully minimal, and everyone was wearing masks. The van itself was everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the galley style kitchen out the back of the van provided an easy space to cook and clean dishes. Our van came with a 5 gallon water tank which was enough to use water to cook and clean dishes for 2-3 days before we needed to refill. We brought a few gallons of our own drinking water with us which we d refill or purify on the road as we needed. The van had lots of storage for all of our camping and hiking gear and it didn t feel like things were rattling around too much while we drove.

The van itself drove like a dream, which frankly was surprising because the van we rented had almost 250,000 miles on it. They said they maintained the vans meticulously, which given the high mileage I was skeptical of, but honestly the van drove amazingly, better than some cars I ve owned and we never once had any mechanical issues.

My only real complaint was that the solar powered fridge in the van did not work as well as I d have liked. It kept things cool when the van was on but it didn t feel like the solar power and battery lasted very long when the van was off. In the morning the fridge was noticeably warmer from the night before which led to our food in the fridge going through a constant cold to warm cycle. Not a huge deal for most food items but we did end up throwing out some breakfast sausage we bought. When I brought this up to Escape at the end of the trip they seemed to take the issue seriously and comped us a small refund which was nice of them.

Finally, you can t review these vans without commenting on the amazing paint job! Ours had a colorful flock of different birds across the van leading us to name our van Birdie for the trip. The thing I noticed the most about the paint job was that everywhere we went we elicited smiles and waves from the people on the road or at gas stations. This made a surprising difference to our trip. For context, we took our trip in late 2020, right before the big election and during a pretty tense time for the country in general. Rolling up in this ridiculous looking Birdie van I think signaled to people that we were friendly and came in peace. People would regularly wave at us on the road or ask all kinds of questions or give compliments about the van. My only real critique about the paintjob is that the back window advertised the van as an Escape campervans rental which kept me from being able to take credit for the amazing paint job myself and instead had to admit that it was just a rental. The trip has definitely converted me to the vanlife lifestyle and maybe someday we ll have our own van complete with a funky paint job of our own.

Here is a preview of how your experience with esca...

Here is a preview of how your experience with escape campervans could be: on our second day of our ten day national park roadtrip honeymoon, the maverick van we rented started having transmission issues. We absolutely understand that things can go wrong, and that s fine, but our larger issue was this companies neglect, poor communication, and complete lack of desire to actually help us out. So after being stuck at our campsite in Yellowstone, their initial solution was to tow us to Bozeman Montana and cut us loose. They offered to buy us a tent, and then they took the offer back. So with a van full of our things and a weeks worth of food we had stored in the fridge and a cooler, they suggested renting a car which was $1,200+ and told us to buy camping gear. We have camping gear, and a reliable vehicle back home and are flying home with only a carry on, and the entire purpose of this trip was to have the convenience of having the kitchen and a bed already made so we could spend less time setting up camp and more time adventuring. So, we had to take three different tow trucks to get to Cody WY, where they believed they could fix the van. We have had to buy a hotel room for two nights now and all of our food in the van has gone bad because the van hasn t been running for it to keep cool. I called one of their managers and he actually laughed at me, and had no intention of trying to make things right. This has been the worst customer service I ve ever experienced and I can t wrap my head around how they think any of this is acceptable. We are currently stranded in Cody WY. The van cannot be fixed, and rental cars are $300+ for a day. We are completely missing out on glacier national park and are trying to get to our final destination in Washington to see our friends and catch our flight home to Denver. Trying to get a refund was like pulling teeth, and they haven t tried to do anything else to make things right or help us out. Instead of understanding how much of a hassle this situation was for us, they acted like we were a hassle. I would not recommended renting one of these vans, because if anything goes wrong, they are super quick to try and write you off and drop you far from home with zero intention of making sure you re okay. I would also not recommend renting their dishes or their bedding. Our bedding has a stain on it that resembles blood, and we were able to point this out because someone put yellow tape there, which I m assuming was to mark there was a stain to clean it. Our dishes were dirty with old food and coffee so they all had to be washed before we could use any of them. I wish this could ve been handled better, because the concept is super cool, but the people running the company are not.

If you want a trip done right, this is the way to go!
We had the lightning van for a 3 day weekend in Boulder, CO. With colder temps our fear was we were going to freeze but we were so cozy! We stayed at a couple places throughout the weekend and this was the perfect set up! If you are looking to do a road trip right, this is it. We had a electric hook up spot both nights. They had a electric heater for us to plug in and it worked great! The last day we had breakfast while it was snowing, nothing like bacon and snow :)

We've rented campervans from other companies for long trips and Escape is by far the best. Their vans are equipped with everything you need, and organized in a smart, efficient way. It allowed us to easily get things out of our luggage and not move everything around all the time. The vans are also super reliable as far as their tires, engine, etc. goes. That may sound weird to say, but the last campervan we rented with another company (I don't want to say and ruin their business) had issues like the engine wouldn't allow us to go faster than 60mph, it overheated every 2 hours and the gas line fell off. We were so happy with Escape and would highly recommend them to anyone.

This was our second time booking with Escape Campervans (1st time in San Fransisco this time in Denver) and it was somehow even better than the last! We were really on track to streamline our budget and Drew and his coworker were not only very honest but very helpful in saving us money wherever they could. They even offered us little extra amenities that past travelers had left behind (spices, napkins, etc). While the campers are not the stealthiest on the outside (which one should expect from such rental), they are super dope on the inside. There aren t enough nice things to say a out these dudes and we will for sure be booking with them in the future.

This was a great experience overall! I would highly recommend renting from Escape Campervans. My boyfriend and I went up to Estes Park and were able to hunker down in 20 degree weather - no problem! We actually got super hot at one point because the winter kit that we rented worked extremely well. Past that, the van itself is hilarious. The fun designs are sure to attract people's attention - we saw lots of smiles on the road, which made us smile. Everything worked well and we will definitely rent from them again if the opportunity arises. :)

My husband and I had the best week in our Escape Camper van. We drove 1600 miles round trip from Denver to Yellowstone National Park and back through Dinasour Monument National Park. The best part was finding gorgeous spots to pull off the road to sit by a river or lake and enjoy a coffee brewed up in the camper. Loved the fact we could pull into a town like Jackson, WY and easily find a park without the issue of manoeuvring a huge RV through town. Folk would also stop and chat to us saying they all loved the painted van so we felt pretty groovy. I felt we were glamping and absolutely loved the experience. We would fully recommend Escape Campers!!! And huge thanks to the friendly efficient staff who checked us in and out especially James at the Aurora depot! Great job guys!!

We loved our Escape Campervan experience! The vehicle was perfectly set up for our 2 weeks on the road. The pull out bed was super comfortable - we could easily move from place to place with minimal set up and break down. The kitchen was totally equipped and easy to use (cook stove, pots and pans, and fridge). The setup was simple and efficient. Escape Campervans let us have a once in a lifetime...

Escape Campervans let us have a once in a lifetime experience and I would not trade that for anything. That being said, we did have some small issues.

1-Around Zion National Park, the AC in the van went out (103 degrees that day). We were able to get someone right away and they directed us to a garage about 30 minutes away. We were able to get the van fixed, but it did hold us up about 2 hours. They were super helpful with getting the van fixed in a timely fashion, but it was still kinda a hassle.

2-Our solar fridge didn't want to cooperate. It would work one day and not the next, and we ended up losing two fridges of food. I called to report the problem on a Saturday and I was told the on call staff would be notified and they would call me back but they never did. However, they were very nice about it when we got back and reimbursed us for our food and our trouble.

3-We opted for a roof top sleeper, and during the trip, one of the roof attachments holding it on came off. We were lucky enough to find it, not sure what we would have done if we had lost that on our journey.

We did put a lot of miles on the van during our trip (over 4000) so maybe our long journey had something to do with the issues we had, but like I said, overall it was a great trip and I would do it again in a heart beat.

As advertised. Drew was super helpful and got us on the road early in am and not pm time listed on the website. It was nice to start a day early. 4 stars instead of 5 because the van was shaking on the road... probably needed wheel rotation. The van had close to 300,000 miles on it and handled accordingly. More expensive compare to Jucy campervans I rented in CA and Las Vegas but roomier and with more appealing outside graphics. Bed is not very comfortable because of the two segments that are not flush with the rest of the bed. I would recommend foam toper. All in all a great way to travel to national parks and camp close to mother nature.

For any of you that are on the fence about committ...

For any of you that are on the fence about committing to a van vacation, well look no further. Because Escape is BY FAR the best campervan rental for any kind of roadtrip you have planned.

I traveled with a friend of mine for a total of 19 days. Through Seattle, Cali coast, through Utah and ended in Denver/CO. Both of us were completely new to van-life so of course studied up before traveling. But Escape couldn t have made our experience more enjoyable, convenient, and more of all: free feeling .

The pick up in Seattle and the drop off in Denver was CAKE. From walking through the van to show us how everything works, to the incredible customer service we received from Amy (at Denver loca, and the other cool gal at Seattle, apologies for spacing on your name friend!).

First off each van has a name. Yes a name. And we appreciated that so much because 19 days in the car, we made a bond with ours! Was nice to refer to him by name (yes we declared it a him haha).

The storage in the van was ideal for all of our things we packed. I will give a word of advice, for those thinking of doing a trip like this, packing cubes are YOUR LIFE. They provide amazing organization all I did was take them out of my luggage (soft luggage btw that fit snuggly underneath the bench when we had the bed set up) and into the storage behind the sink. Perfect amount of space we needed for our clothes/shoes. And then every nook and cranny acted as another space to store things. By day 3, we were pros at Van life hahahh.

The propane stove was incredibly easy to use and it felt great to have the ability to cook whatever we wanted! All we thought about was what would we cook on a stovetop . Possibilities were endless (stirefry, pasta, eggs, toast, oatmeal, hot water, the list goes on and on). The drawer fridge was also really great size, deceiving from the pictures but it for all we needed from breakfast perishables like eggs, cheese, to our water bottles to keep cold
For the road/hikes, and jelly, sauce, etc. really couldn t ask for more space. We kept a side cooler in the van to store fruit you would keep on a kitchen counter but the fridge did it s job well. Even stayed cool overnight and even for days where we didn t have it running (like 48 hours!)

Parking with the van was easy, and it drives like a very large suv maybe a tad larger cause it s long. We had the Maverick model. The only tip I suggest is if you are wary about security in unfamiliar places, just check the garages you are looking at in advance because it does have a height limit. Didn t run into any issues though as long as you plan in advance :)

I could go on and on and on about how simple and easy it was to call Euca (aka Eucalyptus is his name) our home for a month. I will end on another positive note: the bed? COMFORTABLE. WOW I wasn t expecting it to be that awesome. We brought our own pillows and sheets/blankets, just cause you can t be too careful with covid.

But really: everything from how Euca was with us, to the unbelievable ease with booking in advance the van, to the amazing customer service and chill vibes we got from both the girl from Seattle, and Amy from Denver depot, I would recommend and book Escape again in a heartbeat. I cannot wait to book again, and maybe next time, splurge on the top camper!

By far one of the most incredible experiences! From start to finish, customer service was absolutely amazing. We took the van from Denver - Rocky Mountains - Tetons - Glacier - Stanley - Bonneville - SLC - Capitol Reef - Arches, back to Denver and had the time of our lives. We ran into minor van troubles but the reservations and road-side team were so great and worked to provide the best experience. Highly highly recommend! Hoping they open up more locations out on the East Coast to explore the NE.

Our experience with the Escape business was really...

Our experience with the Escape business was really very good with good customer service and the Van gave us absolutely no trouble during our holiday journey.
we felt the design of the camping set up could have been improved with storage drawers and a more streamlined stove and sink set up. there is no food prep area so you have to set up the table inside to do this
If the bed folded the other way the stove and kitchen could be accessed from inside which would be terrific in wet and cold weather along with careful attention to ventilation.
we were lucky to experience no rain in two weeks but preparing meals would have been miserable if we had. Rear door that opened upwards would create a sheltered space
There was no way to plug the van into power if we had wanted to and no heating at all
A small diesel powered heater could be added.
The auxiliary battery provided sufficient power for lighting. However the internal lights switched off after 10 minutes so we had to keep opening the side door to re start the lights if we wanted to read for a while!
we would have appreciated a small brush or broom to keep the inside space swept and some cleaning cloths to wipe down table and kitchen areas
The bedding supplied would have been totally insufficient for our winter trip if we did not have the two sleeping bags left behind by another camper and some towels also left behind. we really needed towels and would have needed to purchase these if we had not found some in the surplus goods. I definitely think towels should be included in the package.
Overall we had a great time and thank you for the clean and reliable vehicle.

The team at Escape Campervans in Denver were superb and delivered excellent customer service, particularly when we were held up dropping off the van they were able to extend our drop off deadline by an hour with no extra charge. The van was in excellent condition, and was clean and tidy as was the equipment we rented. The van itself (Eden Glow) was great and we had no issues at all. Would highly recommend this company

What a fun group and great camper concept! Rented a Maverick style van for two weeks - just two adults and found it had plenty of room for both of us, and all our stuff (to include copious amounts of climbing gear)! The solar powered refrigerator box was the best part and fit way more food than it looks like it should. Most importantly, it kept beers perfectly cold! Would highly recommend to anyone curious about van life, or just looking for an affordable and adventurous vacation option - to give them a try!

4 Stars for staff, service, ease of pick up location (Near Denver airport), add on rentals items, and a decently designed, cheerfully decorated campervan made for sticking your toe into the vanlife. Tested Woodsy out for 21 days on a westward roadtrip. Our particular van has reached the end of it's time and needs retired, plus it could've been vacuumed a great bit better (which are only small details not making it a full 5 stars) But overall, we are really grateful for the whole experience and thankful that a company like this exists, esp in times like these. They worked with us on mileage about the fire/ road closure issues in CO and overall were a great help. Would highly recommend using this company for your futire rental needs. Very down to earth staff. Pro tip: always choose a higher mileage package than you think you'll need. Rock On

We loved our escape camper van trip! The van was easy to drive and use. We thought the bed was super comfy too. Loved having everything we needed in one place and not having to worry about packing. We're novice campers, so this was a perfect way to get inspired to camp more!

One of our favorite vacations. We called our van "Peace, Love and Colorado." It was a perfect solution to our nomadic adventure of unplugging and amercing with the beauty of Colorado. Affordable, easy, and you could not ask for better customer service! Highly recommend sleeping on top in the upper bunk house (available upon request) Solar power fridge kept food cool and plenty of storage for our belongings. We brought along a fan, coffee pot and extension cord. Appreciated the maps and guidebooks equipped with each vehicle.

THIS COMPANY IS MY FAVORITE!!! Wow, they do such a great job at taking care of all of their campers! I have gone on two 3-day trips in the Santa Cruz and the Big Sur vans. One trip was to Mammoth Lakes and the other was to Rocky Mountain National Park. Both were PERFECT. Carley, Amy, Katie and John were so fun to work with and they made my trips even more special. I loved having a cute, clean, adventurous van as my home and would do a million times over with Escape Campervans.

Amazing trip from Denver to Seattle and back in 'Foli'. Perfect way for safe and fun travel to pick up my youngest son from college during Covid-19. Pop-up sleeper worked great for my 6-foot tall sons while I slept comfortably inside the van. Flexibility of the campervan allowed us to find some beautiful spots to camp beside Utah Lake, at Lake Powell and in a public campground in WA. Loved every minute of our drive (well, maybe not every minute as some stretches in Idaho were rather boring). Escape Campervans staff were all incredibly responsive. Highly recommend Escape Campervans and planning another trip soon.

Second time renting with Escape and once again came away very pleased. The vans are comfortable, well equipped, and efficient for camping. Not luxury but not roughing it. I love that they include all the necessities and rent extras for a reasonable price. Good customer service. Quick replies for any questions. We had a slight problem with our rental van but they handled it in a way that will keep me as a customer time and again. Love these guys!

We had a great experience overall with Escape Cam...

We had a great experience overall with Escape Campervans. I would highly recommend it as a great way to camp in a self contained manner. The solar powered fridge and pop up sleeper option were game changers!

A few points to improve:

More comfortable van interior bed (the pop up bedding was definitely more comfortable).

Provide a collapsible water jug (I m glad we brought our own, the site description was a bit vague about this and many campgrounds in the Rockies have no water).

Better quality cookware (Teflon was peeling), better quality utensils such as sharper cutting knife and sturdier spatulas.

Check-in process needs to be sped up. It took us 90 minutes to receive our rental after we arrived at the earliest possible check in time.

The advertised 19 miles per gallon is not accurate while driving in the mountains. Provide a more real-world number. The fuel bill added up fast.

Highlight more suggestions for camping with children and things to do. We are adventurous and found our own way, but this would be helpful for others.

Thanks for making our Rocky Mountain vacation a memory that will last a lifetime!

We had our first experience of vanlifing with Metropolis, an Escape Campervans during our honeymoon trip and we simply had the time of our life. Not only the van was greatly organized and really confortable but the whole team was always amazing. They took the time to answer our questions, both on mail and phone and were really flexible on pick up and drop off times. Thanks a lot for this amazing adventure and see you soon, for sure !

Renting an Escape campervan allowed my family of 5 to thoroughly discover and enjoy Rocky mountain national park, the black canyon and Mesa Verde. The children were planning to sleep on the top, but we adults loved it too . The pull out kitchen was a huge success and Drew was super helpful!

Love this company! This is my first time renting with the Denver office . But we picked it up and traveled across Colorado to Utah up to Yellowstone and back across Wyoming and Down to Denver. In total we had The Croc for 13 days(2600 miles). It became a home away from home. The wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the rooftop camper, we don t recommend sleeping in a 20mph wind (Wyoming cold front).

The whole process with Escape Campervans from securing a van to dropping it off, was easy, pleasant and quick. I drove 1600 miles in the Maverick van from Phoenix to Denver and it worked really well through lightly snowed and mountainous roads. Great company and highly recommend it for your next camping adventure!

If I could give Escape Campervans 10 stars I would do so! This was the second time we rented one of their vans and again we had an epic trip! Not only is it a cool van and an unforgettable experience, but one also feels special driving it and being part of the Escape Campervan community. Love it!

We booked our campervan for 17 days from Denver to...

We booked our campervan for 17 days from Denver to San Fran (with many stops in between) last minute because of an international trip that had been cancelled many times due to Covid. I am not sure if we got an older van, but for the total price we paid, we expected it to be a little more up to date or maybe have some renovations from the very first time they made it in to a campervan. I mean, the bedding was straight from a dude's 90's bachelor pad and the kitchenware was in a plastic storage bin without a top. I understand roughing it, but for the price we paid, I just expected a little better quality. The windshield wipers hadn't been replaced in years, they didn't do anything but make a terrible noise. Luckily it didn't rain much on our trip, otherwise we would have had to buy new ones, which wouldn't have been a huge deal, but we were in the middle of nowhere most of the time. The "table" that you set up when they bed is folded up was very wobbly and useless because the metal pole didn't fit into the base properly. One of the boards that held up a portion of the bed was so worn down that if you put any pressure on it when you laid down or got in to the bed, it collapsed in, which was sometimes three times a night. The piece is supposed to support you being on the bed and it did not. Luckily I brought some clothes pins to pin the curtains together since you change your clothes in the van, otherwise there would be hug gaps for people to see through. The bug nets we paid extra for were both broken and very worn down. There were a few nights where mice got in to the van when all of our doors were closed, so maybe rodent proofing under the van would be a good idea? Don't expect to get much work or sleeping done if you are sitting in the back of the van while it is moving, the ride was so bumpy, it was a bit miserable. The AC only works when moving after a few minutes and we were in very hot climates over 110 degrees. All of these small repairs could have been easily fixed prior to us picking up the van. I was disappointed in the van and a bit embarrassed that I paid so much for it, but again, this was last minute and I didn't have time to do the proper research beforehand. I gave it 3 stars because it did not break down.

We rented our Escape Camper Van from Colorado to drive to different National Parks in Utah and we had an amazing time!! The van had everything we needed. It was easy to set up the bed, table, kitchen, and rooftop sleeper. The bed was really comfortable and large enough to fit 3 adults. We had such a great time that we are already thinking about where we can go next.

The customer service at the Aurora office is stellar, especially from Amy. She was super helpful in answering all of our questions and making the process to rent and return the car fast and seamless.

Thanks again for allowing us to have such a great time! We re excited for our next trip!

We had a great trip with an escape campervan. we really like the simplicity and efficiency of the overall layout of the van. Definitely worth upgrading to the rooftop bed, it's a great feature to have. We had a little complication with the water system, it did work it just didn't hold as much water as we hoped it would. They were awesome at the front desk setting us up and checking us back in super efficiently. Definitely recommend.

I have rented from Escape Campervans several times...

I have rented from Escape Campervans several times during the winter months. I cannot speak highly enough about the service that you receive when you rent their vans. The flexibility, the immediate service you get when you are on the side of the highway with a horrible flat, and their kindness is one that is not often observed by other customer services. I shopped around for best prices before settling on EC a few years ago. Without a doubt they have the best deals.
The benefits of renting during the winter months (the off season) is that you get to tour the usually packed spots and you have them practically to yourself. I can speak from experience that with the provided heater and the bedding, and you own sleeping bag is more than enough for even surviving the -4 F weather you may experience in Canada. And there is nothing quite like finishing a long snowy hike in Glacier national park, getting back to your car and being able to quickly cook up some miso soup while everyone jealously sits into their freezing sedans/SUVs envying your Escape Campervan! Don't think twice and rent from this company!!

We enjoyed our camper van experience, the Big Sur ...

We enjoyed our camper van experience, the Big Sur was roomy but allowed us to get on back forest roads and through the Rocky mountain National Forest without any issues.

The bed in the van was a little lacking in comfort and stability / support, I guess it would be as much as you would expect, but could definitely be improved. It's very important to park level and as flat as possible, it would have been helpful if the van had some sort of indicator to help you find a level position.

We did not have the electric kit, nor did we hook up to power at any sites, so overnight the van did get quite chilly and we had to layer up to stay warm.

Soft side luggage is definitely recommended if you are considering space as we had to shift around our carry-on suitcase throughout our trip.

There were plenty of cubbies and a lot of storage space throughout the van which was helpful during our 7-day trip.

We couldn t have asked for a better experience from start to finish. The staff at the Denver depot were friendly, knowledgeable and so helpful!

Before we decided on Escape, we tested it several other companies. No other cans were as roomy, as comfortable or as much bang for your buck as Escape.

When we booked, the staff threw in a folding table rental for free and gave us unlimited miles, even though we weren t technically at the 14+ day booking requirement. When we picked the van up, the staff was helpful and friendly and clued us in to all the freebies left behind by other vanners. The van was clean and well maintained and we felt confident that Escape had our backs should anything go wrong while we were on the road.

Our trip was everything we could have imagined and we are so thankful to Escape for helping make it happen!! If you are considering renting a campervan, first DO IT!! And second... rent from Escape! :)
