Escape bar and restaurant Review

Came there last night and the Bartender had a very nasty attitude. Lady with Blonde hair. She was very snappy and seemed like she didn't want to be there. The other bartender was trying his best to help but her attitude set the mood for the bar. Otherwise the food was great and our server Charlotte was amazing! Will be coming back just not to the bar.

Ok so my overall experience was the absolute best! My concierge was amazing! My waitress Charlotte went above & beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. Her consideration for me had me totally speechless & humbled at the same time. My food was cooked & seasoned to perfection, kudos to the chef. And as far as the bottomless mimosas, those were epic!

I can't even speak about the food because after an hour of waiting, we never even got our appetizer. I flagged someone down to check on it, and she went to our server who told her, "oh let me go check." An HOUR later. Multiple tables around us were also without food, some of which arrived before us. This makes me wonder what was going on in the kitchen because literally no dishes were exiting into the dining room. Also, most staff aren't wearing masks, so if that's important to you, please be advised.

For the service alone, I will probably never go back. And that stinks because the menu and food actually sound good!

Associate looked at me 3x & didn t ask me I needed anything. I believe the manager came out and she seemed interested with an attitude adjustment. Then I heard her uttering some profane language behind The counter. Overall, I m satisfied with management resolving this issue. She looks like a cartoon character from the nanny on something on a airbrushed on a shirt.

This place is Awesome. The employees are professional and courteous. The food was great!
The live music just a beautiful added touch. I felt as if I was at a live private concert.
It will be my go to chill spot , when I visit Jacksonville.

1. DJ entirely too loud. Couldn t hear each other, couldn t hear the waiter. When we finally got to where we could mention it to the waiter, he asked if we wanted to move inside. We wanted to enjoy the patio, but definitely didn t.

2. DJ playing n-word laced rap music. I don t know which direction this restaurant is headed. Hip Hop club? Fine dining?

3. Entree came out before appetizer. We had to eat all of what we order at once.

4. Three scallops on a huge bed of rice for $25?

5. Crispy wings tough and so so . I would rather wait on fresh wings rather than have re-dunked wings. If they were fresh, then something is amiss in the preparation.

This review isn t for the owners/managers of Escape. It s for anyone that may want to dine there.

There are WAY better spots in 5-Points, and even BETTER in Avondale.

The food had a lot of hype before I went here with my family. So I was excited. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. The food came out so slow and it wasn't great. At one point it might have been, but since it was cold, my french toast tasted stale. I was scared to send it back in case I had to wait another hour and 45 for it. My brothers burger was also bland and cold. As far as service, our original waiter never brought enough water for everyone, nor did he get the drinks right. We didn't see him again bc apparently he quit his job mid-shift. The next servers tried to get us, but it was really hard to get more water and drink refills while we waited for food. This establishment is cute and it has potential, I just think the staff could use a reminder on what great customer service entails. Waiting a long time for food isn't always terrible when the servers are attentive and don't enable your dehydration.

Just the best food! And awesome brunch only items. Great drink specials, didn t get the hookah but it looked good and DID NOT bother us once on the patio, even being surrounded on all sides by smokers. Can t beat the full-bar and eclectic food choices that aren t reflected in the price. Great service, good value, AND don t let the empty front fool you, this places fills from the back. Chillest patio in 5 points is not a hollow boast. Whatever your vibes, they got you covered. Comfy and relaxing atmosphere. Can t wait to return.

II Dope Chics hosted our first II Dope Brunch & Bingo on Saturday, February 27th.What a blast! Good vibes. Escape was so accommodating. The waitress and waiters made our guest feel so welcome. The chef did her thing in the kitchen. Now, let's talk about Angela (Manager). Angela is definitely the ADDED sauce for Escape. Her interpersonal skills are unmatched! Angela is very communicative and will bend over backwards to ensure everything runs smoothly from the kitchen to the bar. Angela is amazing and makes one want to return to Escape Restaurant and Bar for more delightful experiences and her GUMBO! Visit Escape!

We stopped in for a drink tonight and had such a nice time! Live music was great, drinks were tasty, menu was so amazing that we ordered crostini even though we weren't hungry! Delicious whipped ricotta and glazed mushrooms and onions -- the bread was outstanding!! Can't wait to go back!
