As a child they made me take 3 ketchup cups full of meds or they would assign days of table time. If you did not agree with there politics they would lock you in seclusion and take your clothes put you in a paper gown and would not let you out for as long as a month if you did not tell them exactly what they wanted to hear. I hated this place and it did nothing to rehabilitate anyone.

My son Devon committed suicide there in 2011. how on earth could a place that is supposed to rehabilitate children leave them unattended long enough to be able to do something like This? My heart will never heal I miss Devon every day and I blame this place for his death. I do not think this place is adequately staffed or supervising the children. parents do not let your children go here I believe this place is tainted with evil.
I was at Epworth from June 1986 to March 1987. Yeah their rules and regulations were tough, but they are supposed to be, because your dealing with angry and sometimes violent children. I have to keep in mind that it was my behavior that got me put in there to begin with, but that said it didnt fix me. what it did do however is teach me enough to get through that part of my life. What i saw when i was there was misbehaved and misguided kids. kids spitting on the houseparents and throwing things at them when the kids were out of control. i can understand why the punishments were harsh. Yeah they would take your clothes and your things if you broke the rules I was in Mills Cottage and then i got moved to coleman group home because of good behavior 4 months later i got to go home, again because of good bahavior.
