While sometimes the service there can be a bit crazy, I enjoy the practice. The waiting room is usually fairly quiet with a little bit of music sometimes. I've only really met with one therapist, Tova Fox, who is just wonderful. She is very patient and willing to listen. She does get a lot of patients though so it can be a bit difficult to get an appointment with her. I still recommend the place for it's kindness.

Engender is such a safe and peaceful environment to go to when you need to talk about serious issues. They are very accommodating with scheduling and have a large number of counselors. They offer different groups, which I haven't personally taken advantage of, but they sound like they could be really helpful as well. I would definitely recommend giving Engender a chance. If it's not right for you, I'm sure they'll be able to direct you to someplace that is.

I do not live in Albuquerque. I simply came to Albuquerque to take a friend of mine to some appointments (who happens to have a brain injury). We stopped at the Little Bear coffee shop near this business and enjoyed having coffee and tea over there. Afterwords we were still waiting for my friend s appointment time to come around so we decided to go for a walk in the parking lot. I m a pretty friendly person and just said good morning to another woman who was walking into this business. We barely said anything other than have a nice day basically. Then my friend and I were looking out at Jack-in-the-Box which is nearby and these two ladies drove up in a car asking if they could help me. But they didn t ask very nicely like they really wanted to help us. Actually I really couldn t even hear them that well. I thought that maybe they needed help so I walked to them to see if I could help them. I thought maybe they were lost. But no, they wanted to know who I was talking to a minute ago outside of this business. I could ve said it s none of your business but I m a nice person and said I don t know who this lady was. I really don t know why they were asking me this. (I m thinking maybe they own the place). Then they proceeded to tell me that this is a private location and I basically wasn t supposed to be standing there in the parking lot I guess. And of course I knew that was ridiculous because there s a whole bunch of businesses here and I just knew that wasn t right. Anyways we were just walking through so I just turned around went back to my friend and showed him some places from across the street such as Klarus Home Health Care, who I work with at times and I love that business they are very respectable. So I forgot all about those two ladies. I just figured they parked their car and went about their business. But no! As my friend and I were walking back to my car which was parked in that parking lot they were standing outside of the car looking at us like we really were causing them problems. I told them they could call the police if they were that concerned about our presence. They continued to tell me that this was a private location. And I m looking around & I don t see any signs of say private parking or no trespassing. Basically we got into a small argument and yes,I did flip them off and called them a name as I walked away but they brought it on themselves. Had they been patient and waited a measly five minutes we would have been gone. But no they chose to basically bully us instead. This is supposed to be a counseling service? I recommend that these two ladies with short blond hair get some counseling of their own on how not to be so reactive and impulsive and rude!

Called and asked for appointment. Was told I d get a call back after my insurance was verified. Three weeks went by without a call. Called again. Was told that somehow I fell through the cracks and that they still had not verified my benefits, and that I d get a call back sooner rather than later. A month went by. I called a third time three days ago. No apology, but was told I d get a call back that day from the practice manager. She did call me back, but I was in a meeting, so I called her back and left a message. She didn t call back. Lousy service and a terrific lack of caring.

If I could, my rating would be -0. Worst possible place to go for anything. Court ordered, or simply seeking counseling. Toba Fox is the worst clinical director of any business I've seen. She literally chases people from the parking lot and other businesses in the strip mall. They have a sign out front that you cannot stand out front. You either don't get a call back for days sometimes weeks, or they won't leave you alone when you ask them to. They are out for your insurance money. Trying to force people to get seen there. Then when you express your issues with why you don't want to be seen there again, they don't stop calling you!! They refuse to shred your information. They just continue to call. After being instructed not to. They could care less about your HIPAA privacy laws and rights. They violate that constantly. There are sooo much better places out there who actually know what they are doing and will treat you with kindness, respect, not judge you, and not try to complicate things more for you. If you are court mandated to treatment, or for testing from court, choose another place. You will be glad you did. I certainly am thankful I did! I wouldn't recommend anyone come to Engender inc.
