Terror in the Corn sure was terrifying, but not in the ways you would think.
The price for tickets were reasonable, but it was quiet a scare when we we were told we couldn t enter the maize for another hour because of timed entry. After purchasing tickets we realized maybe it was for the better, we got to walk around, drink some hot chocolate, watch high schoolers run each other with wheelbarrows, and we figured the process midigated time waiting in lines.
But this is where the nightmares began.
After standing in our designated 9:30 line, our entry was granted, and with anticipation we walked forward towards... another line. Terrifying.
Ok, we could handle one more line. This line was festivally decorated with iron fences and a grey stone wall, essentially trapping you in line. Horrific really.
While trapped in line next to another group of high schoolers we got to watch the young group of children heavily petting each other and playing tonsil hockey every time the line came to a hault, images that will replay in my nightmares for years to come. Since we were trapped in line, one high schooler decided it would be ok to relieve himself in one of the corners where some sitting benches were. Which caught one kid victim when he decided his poor feet were tired from standing in line all night. The kid sat in another kids pee. With horror of what wet substance he sat in, he shot up with a look of fear and disgust in his eyes. This led us to only question every wet spot of dirt through out the line.
Soon, finally, after an hour of watching middle schoolers do unmentionable things to each other, it was our time to board the trailer and go to our destination. A kind group behind us adopted our small group of 3 into their large group to save us from witnessing more peeing and sexual advances of the young group of children.
As we deboarded our trailer ride, we were terrified to see we had yet another line to stand in before the paid-for-terror began. So we waited again. As we approached the door, anticipation and fear set in. The real fun began. As we walked through the maize are nightmares were faced... another line. If you have lost count, that was 4 lines. It was like Disney land, but cold, less amusing, and where dreams go to die.
