What can I say. If you want an excellent break away with awesome food, superb scenery and the option to be active or just chill out, here s you place. Great food and wine (the partridge being a standout) all included. Super close to wildlife, and excellent service. Highly recommend it and will definitely returning. Note no mobile phone reception onsite.

We have just spent two nights at this wonderful resort and it was one of the most amazing culinary experience.
As instructed we rang the resort after turning onto Wolgan Road and were greeted by a staff member at the gate. Check in was quick and efficient and we were offered drinks straight away.
After a quick lunch, we checked into our villa and were blown away by the wildlife surrounding the accommodation. The fire place and the pool were also amazing.
Food and drinks were certainly the highlight for us. We opted for degustation dinners on both nights and the menu changes daily. Service was slightly haphazard on our first dinner, but things were rectified quickly. A special thanks to the Food and Beverages manager as he went out of his way to look after us on the second night. Food is of very high quality and would easily match any hatted Sydney restaurant.
We enjoyed the Stables tour and the stargazing before dinner.
This place certainly deserves all the accolades it has received and all the staff are an asset to the resort.
We will be back soon, hopefully in a bigger group!!

My partner and I stayed here recently for a short honeymoon escape and this luxurious resort well exceeded our expectations! The staff were attentive, personable, knowledgeable and clearly passionate to be there. And why wouldn t you be? Wolgan Valley is quintessential Australian countryside, set amidst picturesque escarpments that shield you from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. There is something for everyone. International visitors will love the abundance of Australian wildlife, those after relaxation will no doubt visit the onsite spa, while those like me who can t sit still will enjoy the many other activities on offer (walking and bike trails, horseriding, archery, stargazing ). And I haven t even mentioned the delicious meals and luxurious villas!
As Australians, we tend to look overseas for holiday escapes, yet I find our own backyard even more engaging and spectacular and all without the hassle of airport connections and long flights! If you re happy to simply swipe the credit card once for an all-inclusive experience, Wolgan Valley ticks the box.

Our two night stay was absolutely exceptional. Yes, it's expensive, but it was the best place we have ever stayed at and exceeded of all our expectations. We did horse riding, hiked to the glow worm tunnel, rode the provided mountain bikes around the property.

The staff provided the best customer service experience you could ask for.

The food and wine was exceptional (all included in the room cost).

You absolutely should stay here and it is absolutely worth the cost. We will be saving up to return, that's for sure.

P.S, the Tesla charger was particularly helpful!

Amazing. The service, rooms wildlife and scenery were all perfect. The staff were faultless. If I were being particularly picky the breakfast was a little chaotic but service was still amazing, just a bit overcrowded. I would definitely go back.

It's terrible. The staff are terrible. The food was terrible. The idiot tailgating me in a company branded car for the final 5kms to the resort was terrible...

...on arrival the waitress that poured my drink into a cracked and chipped glass, then when I complained tipped the same contents into another glass and proceeded to serve it to me... and that's scratching the surface.

Shall I go on? The staff are less than qualified. I'm fairly sure that our waitress was stoned that served us at dinner. The food was average. The bed was uncomfortable. The private pool had a used band aid floating in it.

In the end it wasn't about the money. It was the fact that the employees of this horrid little place genuinely believe that they have a superior product. They don't.

The fact that I know many people that have been there have the same opinion as me is interesting. Especially when you see all the 5 start reviews. Odd.

The biggest oddity though is the fact I've had my trip advisor review 'rejected' twice. For speaking my opinion? Tsk tsk. I didn't realise this was a dictatorship.

Waste of money. No way even close to value for money, or even a pricey decadence.

I wonder if the resort has their tentacles into Google reviews? Will this be sensored similarly tommy trip advisor review? Let's see

My wife and i just stayed at Wolgan Valley for the second time and i can say without a doubt that since One and Only have taken over, the service has improved to a point that i can't even put into words. From the porters to the GM, they truly care about your stay. They genuinely want you to be relaxed and have a good time. I don't want to mention specific names as i may forget some and would just prefer to say that pretty much anyone we came in contact was great! Don't hesitate to go there. In short, our motto for their service is "Nothing is TOO much - they will try and accommodate" - more and more rare these days even at other very luxurious resorts.

Beautiful retreat with a luxury Australian feel. I was lucky have enjoyed Wolgan Valley in the summer and winter. Both were romantic and memorable. The beauty of the landscape is captivating. You get that magical "Australian quite" No cars, just crickets and birds. And then the stars at night. The service is wonderful and the best part is the private swimming pool.

Traveling by car from Sydney Airport to Wolgan Val...

Traveling by car from Sydney Airport to Wolgan Valley takes about 3 long hours. An arrival by helicopter was not possible because it was supposedly too dark. The Heritage Villas are a dream! Equipped with fireplace, pool and a beautiful bathroom. At the arrival flickered at our house an outside light which I immediately reported. It still flickered on departure after three days. There is a fantastic Wi-Fi. In the villas, in the entire outdoor area, as well as in the main building you have a perfect network. The service was a bit too "warm" for me. At each meeting, one held his hand to heart, which should probably mean how much one is happy. The breakfast is very good, lunch and dinner went well. A friend of mine would say molecular kitchen. I usually ordered a steak in the evening to get full, but this is charged extra.
We booked two excursions. Once the Wildlife & Sundowners Tour, which costs $ 60 / person for two hours and a trip to the firefly tunnels high on the Newnes Plateau. On the Wildlife & Sundowners Tour we drove 12 people into a bus at walking pace through the grounds and felt at each tree. After about an hour you come to a home-built pedestal, from where you have a very nice view and where then the sundowner was taken. On the pedestal there is a table and two chairs. Without a tablecloth or decoration some bottles of beer, soda and champagne are set up. There were also two plastic boxes with salami slices and some mush, and 12 wooden forks. Apart from the fact that the pedestal was totally filthy, I do not come to the One & Only to eat with me 10 strangers from a plastic box of salami slices. The $ 120 I could have thrown in the fireplace, I probably would have had a better feeling.
The excursion to the firefly tunnel was not better. We got radio and water, but no one told us what a crazy way it is to get to this tunnel. Partly we had to walk through streams and leafy terrain, climb over bent trees and that almost 8 km long.
The bill we had not deducted the $ 300 voucher. Forgot to be told what I believe ... but that's not allowed!
Finally, the return flight with the helicopter was canceled, because the weather was supposedly not suitable for it. So we were allowed to drive again for 3 hours by car. So for my part I do not have to go back here.

Villa = 5 stars
Food = 3 stars
Service = 4 stars
Excursions = 1 star

Situated at 180 km from Sydney this retreat is a blowing mind experience. The quality and luxury of villas (good connection wi-fi on the property), the taste and selection of food and drinks, the welcoming and capability of the staff, the possibility and variety to spend the time (riding, hiking, swimming, exploring, gym & spa ... ) are all at the highest level. In addition, all villas have swimming pools and bicycles as another possibility to transport and exploring the 4.000 acres on the property. To talk about cleaning and bedding or towels is not necessary. Everything was like new and good quality.
The feeling inside the villa was peaceful. Spending some time on the terrace we ll be able to discover a variety of kangaroos, birds, sounds of the nature ... :)

We stayed at Wolgan in Oct 2019.
It was a tough choice between staying in the awesome room or going to the restaurant for amazing food and wine!
Being with nature and the animals was most enjoyable - kangaroos and wombats roaming around.
Great for diserning couples and families!

To be honest the hotel it self needs a major upgrade no sink in the rooms and you have to buy your own water bottle to make coffee in the morning, I spent 3 nights here and I have to say, it's not the best not the worst but in between.

The location is good, closed to shops, restaurants and public transport even closer to Sydney Park if your a fan of fitness, a massive park to show off and catch some POKEMON lol overall the hotel it self was ok good value for money if your on a tight budget

Well what can I say about this place? Outstanding, beautiful, breathtaking and so much more. We stayed in the two room Villa which was just amazing. Surrounded every day by kangaroos, wallabies, wombats and a variety of birds. All the food from breakfast to the evening meal was tiptop quality, and always professionaly served with a smile. A call-out for some staff members who stood out for us were Imogen, Andy, Aaron, Madison, Jordan, Katie and Cecilia. I could go on and on, but this place exceeded expectations on so many counts. Thank you so much
