This is the most unhelpful embassy. The operator literally interupted me multiple times and said "yeah i have a call on the other line so ask your question quicker"
Almost lost my passport due to FedEx's irresponsibility. But the team in Swiss Embassy took all their affords and time to find my passport! Thank you for your professionalism, Swiss Embassy!
I came here to purchase my Swiss Student visa last spring. The process takes awhile and make sure you have your money and all documentation before arriving. The staff is a little cold, but do not let that get in your way. I came to the embassy three times because there were problems with my application. When you write a letter of content on leaving Switzerland upon completion of your studies, you must make sure it is typed and signed. Make sure you have plenty of money in your bank account because the Swiss will want to make sure you have enough money to be in the coutnry. Make sure to have information on where you will be living in Switzerland and have all your documentation from your Swiss school and home university stating you are going to study in Switzerland. The embassy wants to have everything offical and have mutliple copies. I had 4-5 copies of all the documents needed for the application. The Swiss will want to have 3 copies. For photos, you will need 3 or 4 of the same photo, for the embassy you can take them at any drug store. I took mine at the CVS in Adams Morgan before heading to the embassy. There is seating in the consular area of the embassy. There is a nice video the plays in the waiting area on tourism in Switzerland and there are plenty of travel guides and maps on the countryto take.
Friendly, caring and professional staff. I lost my passport in Washington DC and I m lucky enough to live close to the embassy - but I only realized I lost my passport two days prior to my flight back to Switzerland and they were able to provide me a temporary passport. Great job!
They open 9 am to 12 and close on weekends , what kidda lazy ass are they? and to top it out never respond back to the voice mail
Best service for visa application which is comparing with my hometown. thanks a lot
RUDEST switchboard operator I have ever encountered. Wouldn't listen, interrupted. Awful.
I love going there. Always friendly and most helpful.
Super slow service: 2-3 months to register a marriage (after they received all the paper work)! Employees borderline rude and not helpful at all.
Very competent staff, but not a welcoming environment. Try calling the embassy by phone, but only if you have a very high tolerance for frustration.
I find it ridiculous that you have to spend so much time waiting around but they have no public restrooms and won't let you use the employee restrooms.
This is a great place. I was very confused/surprised when I read the other bad reviews here. I had a special case in my visa application, and the people in the visa section were very cooperative and considerate.
MY WIFE HAD AN INTERVIEW FOR VISITING SWISS AND THE LADY AT INTERVIEW WINDOW WAS VERY NICE. DID A GREAT JOB WITH SMILE AND WITH RESPECT.THANK YOU GUYS AND KEEP UP GOOD WORK
guys any way to contact the embassy by phone not by email. they don't respond to emails about the visa issues they dont contact you by phone ?
Why are they so unfriendly ? People don't smile even when you try too and you sure don't feel welcomed ! My advice is to seek for a visa someplace else. There's no need for such negative energy.
Just because it's a small part of Switzerland in the USA :)
