I have done over 500 EHR Data conversions and there are always snags, but this company is absolutely terrible. They have abhorrent communication. They lost the data that was given Twice!!! Keep everything in writing. They will tell you phone conversations didn t happen. This is the biggest group of liars I have ever had the unfortunate opportunity to deal with. Save yourself the headache and stay AWAY!!!

Worst possible experience. As an IT and EHR software VAR, we referred a customer who was in need of an EHR data conversion to Ellkay. The entire process after the sale was a complete disaster. Expectations were not set appropriately from the onset. Communication was very much lacking. Rather than taking responsibility, they chose to blame the EHR software manufacturer for lack of response. The EHR manufacturer may have indeed been slow to respond, however, rather than picking up a phone and having effective communication with the manufacturer and customer, they chose to send emails and wait for responses. Needless to say, the project that was promised in the sales cycle to be delivered at the beginning of August has not been completed and is nowhere in sight. In the end, expectations could/should have been set better from the beginning and communication with customer and manufacturer were very much lacking, at best.

Nice

NO STARS! We have been to Hell and back with this company. Too many hands in the pot. No one knows what the other hand is doing. HORRIBLE communication with what the project actually entails. Breached HIPAA!!!

We hired Ellkay when we changed our electronic medical record system from Aprima to Traknet. In fact it was our account manager at Traknet who recommended them as they were the company that they ve been using for all of their data transfers.
I should have known that there was going to be a problem when it took three weeks for Ellkay to even get in touch with me. We told them what our timeline was for the data migration, and when we planned to be up and running live on our new system. When they told us that our timeline was too short we moved our timeline back five weeks and at that time were told that that would be enough time for them to complete the migration. This was in June.
We told Ellkay that we needed all of our data from our old system imported to the new system including demographics, insurance information, patient charts, etc. and they told us that they would have the insurance information and demographics loaded into the new system before we went live and that all of the patient records would be uploaded immediately following our go live which was August 3.
It is now middle of September. We only just got any of our insurance information about a week ago and it is incorrect. We have been live on the new system since August 3 and have yet to be able to bill out a claim because Ellkay initially didn t have any of the information (insurance, demographics) we needed uploaded to the system. When they finally did upload the information ( only a week ago by the way) it was incorrect and/or incomplete. So we are now almost 8 weeks without being able to bill out a single claim and money is running short.
I spoke with one of the higher ups at Ellkay and all they were able to do is offer me $1700 back from the initial $10,000 that I paid them for the transfer. We still do not have the information correct. We are still finding multiple errors in data or data missing from various charts. I still have no idea when we are actually going to be able to file claims. Ellkay does not seem to know either. So basically they have delivered nothing that they have promised us to this point and yet they have $10,000 of my money. (Sorry $8300 of my money.) They are trying to come up with a solution. I I m not holding my breath.
My practice is teetering financially because of all of the mistakes that have been made by Ellkay. . They do not really seem to care very much about that. What I find unbelievable is that they tout themselves as being the data migration leader for huge corporations and large medical facilities yet they cannot even do a proper data migration for my tiny little two-doctor practice.
I would not recommend Ellkay to anybody. They are a nightmare, and I don t know if they re going to be able to rectify the mess that they have made of my medical records and subsequently my practice. I am not sure what we are going to do now. I think it is insulting to me that all they could do was offer me $1700 back on my initial implementation fees. And it seems that all they want to do is try to blame everyone else for the mistakes that they have made. They are more interested in having meetings to discuss what went wrong than actually fixing what went wrong.
I actually left a voicemail with one of the owners of the company and he didn t even have the decency to call me back so I could discuss this with him directly. He had someone in their lab implementation section call me and that person admitted that they did not have the appropriate knowledge base to be able to help me with my particular issue.
If you are looking for someone to do data migration and implementation, please please please look elsewhere. They have told me at Ellkay that they have never had this kind of trouble before but I highly doubt that. Do your research and don t just take the recommendation of one person. I made that mistake and now I am in financial hardship as a result.
. If there was any way to give them zero stars or negative stars I would have done that.
