About Elker oy
Elker Oy is a Finnish service company specializing in producer responsibility for electrical and electronic equipment. It operates as a non-profit service company established by three producer organizations (SELT ry, ICT-tuottajaosuuskunta, and FLIP ry) to organize the collection, processing, and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) on behalf of its member producers. The company offers services including reporting of placed-on-market equipment, product marking and recycling fee notifications, and acts as an authorized representative for foreign companies selling electrical equipment, batteries, and accumulators directly to end users in Finland and around 30 other European countries. Elker also arranges the transport and pre-processing of collected equipment through competitive tendering and provides information on where end users can return their used devices.
