Not a bad place to go. It has a lot of old unused space though. Don't make eye contact with the vendors in the middle, they are a bit too persistent. The men's clothing is lacking in variety as well. JC Penny has the exact same clothes as Macy's. the other shops are a bit niche market for men. Clean and spacious though. Great for people who don't like to be crowded

Dayton Mall is showing it's age. Small compared to modern malls, and variety of stores is limited but good quality. Not as crowded as Fairfield Commons which is nice. Sakura in the food court is REALLY good!
I've been visiting the Dayton Mall for well over 20 years and I've watched it go from being THE PLACE to shop to struggling to get people in the doors. It all started when they let the movie theater be built away from the mall. Since then there's not been any real attraction to get families to come to the mall and it has slowly been dying ever since. Once upon a time that halls and shops would be packed with shoppers no matter what time of year it was, now you can wander the halls and never come even remotely close to bumping into someone. Yes there are still great prices to be had for really nice clothes and Sears has some great prices on appliances, but that doesn't seem to be enough to get the people out of Walmart and Target and into the Mall! Unless they can come up with some sort of attraction to get families to want to come to the mall, it is going to continue to dry up and die like the Salem Mall and Fairfield Commons and that is going to be a real shame!
I love the stores here and that I can come at almost any time without trouble parking. A few people have said they don't like coming here at night in fear of their safety. I have not felt that way when I've come. However, that would probably be less of an issue if they had all the lights actually working and on at the entrances. The back entrance lights have not been fixed or functioning for more than and needs to be addressed especially if it will make people feel safe. Be sure to check hours of your stores and the locations as several stores have external entrances while some are only accessable from inside the mall (i.e. old navy)
Went to Elder beermann's day 1 of foreclosure sale. It was horrible they tried ripping me off. When they rang my items up they only gave me the 10% discount I had yellow dot items which qualify for 30% discount After I looked at my receipt and realize what they did, they said all sales were final and they could not give me the correct discount. Long story short I ended up getting my discount but not before I track down a manager.
They are adding new places, its fun to go if you havent been in a while. Even with the closing of Elder Berman and Sears there are plebty of other store to enjoy. There are lots of sales going on every week, and there is even place for your children to play (but dont leave them unattented), there are places to eat (my favorite is Auntie Annies), and there is something for everyone.
I went to the food court and had subways. The employees here we're very kind and prompt. Kudos to the wonderful job to the management in the training team. Along with the very professional employees.
Mall is clean, but is run down with not other of quality stores anymore. You also need to be careful when you go, it is not a very safe mall I'm the evenings and weekends.
Excellent establishment with extremely courteous & helpful employees. That includes all the staff at the shops we went in to. Also fantastically maintained. Clean, fun, & welcoming. I can't recommend this establishment enough.
Not a bad mall. Would love to see a better food court though. It s really gone down hill lately. My family would likely go more often if that improved some.
