Never a issue, very helpful when applying for concealed carry permit.

Pitiful. Refuse to follow public tecords laws or even thier own written policy. So glad i am not a resident of elbert county. Certainly wont be buying a home there or plan to move anywjhere mear them.

Deputy J. Pennington was amazing! He came out to help assist my brother and I after our work vehicle got stuck. He grabbed his shovel and helped remove a lot of soft mud from around the vehicle and helped push our truck out. He definitely went above and beyond his duties that evening. Thank you so much for all that you do! God Bless!

This place is a joke, I don't know if it's because they are under funded or what but trying to get anyone in this department to do anything is almost impossible. We have dealt with Corporal Cordova on a few occasions and he is a joke of a deputy. He will not return phone calls, does not file accurate or timely reports and I believe plays favorites to other law enforcement. We recently had an incident involving an off duty police officer from a nearby area and Corporal Cordova was assigned to our case and basically never acknowledged that any incident happened. I don't know if he is playing favorites to another police officer, if he is just that lazy, or if they are so under funded that he just doesn't have time.

The ECSO is not here to serve and protect. They no longer care about safety of the community. And they must have nothing better to do than harass its citizens, and hand out tickets from many many many undercover cops all over the county. They care more about money for their county tham they do about the people. They care more about their fancy vehicles than the citizens they were hired to protect. This truly is the only downside of living in Elbert county. The officers are bored and money hungry and will steal every penny from you they can. Never give you grace. Not even on a day where our community comes together to BLESS them with free food and goodies.
Way to NOT pay it back.

I will start by stating that Elbert County Sheriff's Department is one of the most unethical agencies I have came across. The records department refuses to give you any information on request pertaining your case. The District Attorney's office are incompetent don't even know the law. Judge Boyett is very unethical and bias. Beware stay clear of this County.

I ve always had good experiences with Elbert County deputies as well as with the Sheriff himself. Been here 17 years and no problems. Take with a grain of salt anyone that gives a bad review (see below) that can t even spell simple everyday words.

Seems that they can respect somebody's right to film in public, you pretty much lost a lot of respect....

I am so grateful for the dedication and support demonstrated by our S.O. Department. When you talk about having officers who truly care about their community and desire to make a positive impact on the community, it is no surprise that the Deputies in this department demonstrate a compassion towards others and a promise to safety beyond the call of duty. Sheriff Norton is doing a phenomenal job in commanding excellence from his staff and placing small town values first. Thank you for all that you do for us, our gratitude will never be enough to cover the sacrifices you have made. God Bless you and the entire S.O.

Great Department! Hard working, I just don t think people understand the frustration of one deputy having to drive from one side of the doubts ti the other for some stupid reasoning.

They are not in elbert county to protect the public. They are only here to write tickets and threaten people. Unreasonable to talk with. Seems to me there are way to many of them out there and are doing more harm than any good.

I was pulled over on a back dirt road in Elizabeth. I explained to the officer that I am a healthcare professional and late for the appointment to treat my sick patient. I care for elderly in the community. He mad me wait 25 minutes in my car and gave me a 170 ticket. Yes I was speeding and very apologetic..it was my fault however maybe give me a warning. I was trying to get to a patient and the road was clear. Very poor character to ticket a healthcare personal, the ticket took a huge chunk of my paycheck. this encounter made me want to refuse treating patients in the community for the future.

Most amazing Dukes of Hazard SO I have ever dealt with... Talked about 30 seconds with a Sgt. Turner regarding a Mental hold on a subject threatening suicide and harm to animals and an her elderly mother. I was told he did not want to talk to me, even though I had pertinent information regarding the situation. The deputies had arrived at the call with their guns drawn legitimately.. I have 20 years experience as a Deputy Sheriff and as soon as he heard that, he was not interested in talking to me further. The resolution was to take an intoxicated, possible homicidal, suicidal subject to a friends house. In all my years as a deputy, I have never seen such buffoonery at it's highest level. Seems after several similar complaints by the elderly mother who is being held hostage because she is too scared to leave due to threats by the daughter, something would be done. Sgt. Turner is the most arrogant, egotistical individual I have ever dealt with. Which was even further evidenced on Youtube by individuals exercising their constitutional rights. Although I don't agree with the individuals on the Youtube videos, you can't arrest someone for asking for a public records request from a public entity... Absolutely the most backwoods Sheriff's Office I have ever seen. I love the imbecile deputy begging for hi
