I should have read the various comments before going to this store. The service is certainly friendly, but the sellers are unable to provide you with sound advice on the products they sell. No knowledge and reflection on what they are selling. Too bad for local trade!

I was lucky enough to find a bike on line which I liked - I called to store directly and they had one left - very friendly service over the phone. They called me the next day to pick it up. Once at the store received more friendly and informative service. A great experience and highly recommended. Merci encore une fois Ekkip et Samuel!!

The price of a repair, which was submitted to me on my arrival, was higher than agreed at the final bill.

I bought a pair of Columbia waterproof winter boots that take water $ 150 before taxes. I tried to get a refund the next day with the invoice and the original packaging as indicated on the invoice "refund within 10 days". Except that the seller tells you that he cannot reimburse you, he calls his boss who does not want to reimburse you either.

Good advice don't set foot there because they sell expensive junk after you're stuck with. In addition I found the same model on the Columbia site $ 110 at the regular special price at $ 88.

After making a necessary update in April 2016 that required a change of the chain as well as the cassette and a new fender and other accessories (bill of $ 300 +), I had to return only a month later to replace the mudguard that had been incorrectly installed.

When I returned to take my bike, the technicians had taken the initiative to change the chain again. I found this strange because the chain had been replaced a month ago during the development and the bike was used in the normal way during the month (100km per week). I argued with the technician who claimed that the chain needed to be replaced. I asked to see the chain and I was pointed to a bin full of worn chains - so I could not check if my chain was really worn or not.

After a long discussion with the administration, the channel was refunded. I then wondered if the technicians were simply incompetent or that the store was charging for services not provided.

The second option was confirmed last week when I was making a new focus (needed) at Quilicot. When I introduced my bike, the technician clearly explained to me that I had to replace my cassette again which was definitely not in condition. By showing me the piece, he said that it was impossible for the cassette to be replaced in the last two years depending on my use (100 km per week - April to November 2016). A $ 400 later, my bikes are now in good condition, but after spending several useless steps, spending money for services not provided and having repeatedly argued my case at Ekkip.

It is therefore clear that Ekkip charges for services that are not completed. It is therefore impossible for me to recommend the store.

For a long time, I wanted to buy a bike. One day, while walking on Mount Royal, I went back to Ekkip. I received such an attentive service and their knowledge of the bikes impressed me so much that I came out of the shop with a new bike! Really nice shop, amazing customer service, great price. I normally try to encourage local businesses around me, but I'm still digesting my last experience of six months ago ... I bought ice skates that I could try by staying standing on the carpet. The next day at Lafontaine Park I realized after 5 minutes that they hurt my feet. So I came back two days later to see if I could buy others instead. Well no. The ice skates return policy is ruthless! It's the carpet, or nothing. The seller may be nice, it ruins the experience ...
What is unfortunate for the trade, in addition to the fact that I avoid it now, is that Amazon or Canadian Tire would probably have accepted this return without questioning ...
A lesson to remember ...

Starting my work at 11 a.m. I showed up at 9:55 a.m. (5 min before opening) I am told that the store opens at 10 a.m. fast race and I come back ... 10:10 am I go back, to my surprise the store still not open, the better the employees are in their corners chilling and laughing between them ... in short I never managed to know if there was selling what I was looking for and I will definitely never know

I bought my skates and rackets at Ekkip. I realized that when I search on google a top 10 of the best products in each category, I find them always on sale at Ekkip, at the best price. In addition the sellers are nice and good advisers.

The owner is part of an association (Mount Royal Plateau Merchants and Residents Association) (see Facebook) that makes Plateau-bashing and defends only the interests of suburban motorists who have the "need" to bring their chariot in the narrow streets of the Plateau. Appreciated that one does not take expenses for the sharpening and to remove the teeth on the skate.
On the other hand, removing the teeth produces an unexpected result.
The skating is really different; which gives an important difficulty of adaptation. I have the impression that a piece of blade is missing on the front of the skate. Yet, my previous skates did not have teeth ..

I bought a bike from Ekkip this week and got great service. Patient people and good counselors. Later, I had a puncture with my other bike and I went to see them because it was on my way. Brought my ice skates for a sharpening. Was told to leave the skate there and come back to pick them up. Really? Won't do 1 hour of back and forth driving for a skate sharpening. Would have waited a bit, but that was not an option. But the worse, I found out the sharpening guy was on site but busy setting up bikes. I told the lady clerk it doesn't make sense to leave the skate and come back, too long. She didn't care, told me the guy is too busy. I said in frustration that I won't come back again, she said "I am fine with that". What kind of customer service and response is this? I bought my hockey stuff there before... not planning to go back now with that type of attitude. So if you plan to go, I guess you better call before to see if they have the time to sharpen your skates. It makes no sense to me, you should simply not offer the service if you need to turn people around.

Simply a scandal as a service! I'm promised a free "check-up" in the year of a bike bought at home ... I tell them the malfunction of my pedal from almost the beginning, and nothing has been changed at this level during the famous "check-up". So I had to return to have it replaced - for free according to their promise - the spare part being at my expense. Well, think again, the labor is ultimately not understood, and a repair that was going to cost me $ 20 went up to $ 50. Bad service, too expensive for what it is and they do not keep their promises!

I ordered by internet and received my boots 24h later. The boots are perfect, it's the right size, I had an email order confirmation, delivery tracking, in short: happiness! I'm not from the neighborhood, but I do not hesitate to make a detour or order online. Good service, worth the trip!

After sales service more than questionable: Defective product after 15 minutes of use, not refundable according to the guarantee, and price of the new product for the cost of repair. 0 Commercial gesture, will no longer be a customer of this shop. Edit: The string of a badminton racket broke after 15 min of use (Black Knight Super Nano X3 paid in the $ 30), I can understand that the rope is not something guaranteed according to the uses of each, but after 15 minutes of use there was clearly a fault either in the assembly or storage of the racket. Offering me a $ 25 plus tax rope replacement is not really a commercial gesture.
