True native work. Modern. The lady at the front desk was realy nice and helpful.
I received my Faith towel, and it is wonderful.
I am so impressed with the speedy turnaround time - and the company's fabulous mission statement! I read a post on fb on Indigenous People's Day that suggested buying from a native owned retailer to celebrate the day. I had been looking at the Eighth Generation beach towels for so long, but I couldn't justify spending that money on something that is really a luxury for me. It meant a lot to make the purchase on that day.
Perrty awesome place
Shop till ya drop
I always make sure I visit 8th generation while I am at Pike's place market. Nice inventory and great associate.
Bought a pair of orca earrings and a t-shirt that had a coastal designed Seattle Space Needle. Authentic Native art, love it!
My favorite place to visit at Pike Place Market. There are so many amazing Native artists displayed in this store. I can't wait to go back.
Eighth Generation is my favorite space to shop in Seattle! Every product I have from them is of the highest quality and every time I come in the service is wonderful. When friends visit me from out of town I always bring them here on my "tour" of Seattle. My coworkers often ask about the beautiful enamel pin I wear on my lanyard while teaching. My favorite part about this business is the opportunity to support Native artists rather than art that has been appropriated. I feel confident that every sale will directly benefit Indigenous business people rather than others profiting off of Native arts. Can't recommend this shop enough!!
This store/ gallery is not just a great place to find unique items, it stands for something that speaks to everyone who cares about indigenous rights, history, and culture. Do your research about it, and if you get the chance to meet the owner- ask him about all the great work he has done!
By far my favorite Seattle store. I can always find a unique and thoughtful gift there. I also love to support Indigenous artists and Indigenous owned businesses. Win/win!
Amazing business and amazing people! I'm so happy to have them here in Seattle. They do really cool social justice projects and support native artists. It is so important to support native artists instead of buying things that are culturally appropriated. You don't have to worry about that at all when you shop at Eighth Generation.
I love that they have a mix of traditional works as well as more modern stuff.
I have ordered a few different blankets from Eight Generation and am very happy with both the quality and the customer service! The products are shipped almost immediately, updates are sent along the way, and customer service is very quick in responding to any issues. They also arrive nicely packaged in a box and with information about the artist. Would be a great house warming gift.
Amazing products! Beautiful jewelry, blankets, cards, soap, and more. High quality and reasonably priced.
Friendly staff and amazing products - always worth a visit when I'm in Seattle
Beautiful brick & mortar location located in the Pike Place Market with incredibly helpful & kind staff! They included a cool "Inspired Natives, Not Native Inspired" sticker in with my purchase of a t-shirt and socks. I always look forward to their new designs and I covet the wool blankets (I hope to purchase someday!). A go-to for unique gifts.
This is one of the only places anywhere that has Native Art that is designed by Native artists and has a Native owner. They ve done something amazing with their store, a breath of fresh air and inspiration!
Love the vibe of service given, quality of the products. Amazing place!!
I'd been following Eighth Generation for awhile before I moved to Seattle and went to their store. It was, and I say this with no hyperbole, stunning. I spent so long walking around and touching everything because the quality of the work and materials was just so delicious, and then I started sending everyone I know there to experience it themselves. I've stopped in 5 or 6 times to buy gifts or just look at things, and everyone behind the counter is always so friendly and welcoming. Support this business!
Amazing art by Pacific northwest indigenous people!! Staffed by local native people. Such a treasure!!
Beautiful shop full of wonderful art. It took me a while to choose from all the great options, but I eventually decided on a print and a T-shirt. The woman working in the shop was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the artists and their art. I will definitely be back the next time I m in Seattle!
I was on my way to Pike Place when I happened upon Eighth Generation. My partner knew a lot of the products they sold so we went in. It was a great experience. The goods are designed and produced by Native American artists around the country and it showcases wonderful creativity and dedication to craft. We were lucky enough to talk to the owner and artist, Louie Gong and he was affable and down-to-earth. One of his staff, Stephanie, was great to talk to as well. I was struck by the beautiful designs on the t-shirts, socks, jewelry, towels, phone cases, and blankets. My partner and I were so enamored with their goods we bought one of their hummingbird blankets. We are really happy with the blanket and are hoping to buy more products from them in the future.
Beautiful products! Very friendly and informative staff.
Love love the amazing quality and beautiful designs of everything at Eight Generation, the fact that it supports a Native American designer and 100% owned and run business sis such an amazing plus! Thank you, you guys rock!
Was a little tricky to find but it's been awhile since I've visited the Market. I would definitely visit again to support my culture. Would of been a 5-star but on the day of the visit there was only 1 employee on the phone helping a customer. I waited for 20 minutes for a very small purchase which could of potentially been larger!
This is absolutely one of my favorite shops at the Market. Every single item for sale is crafted with story interwoven beautifully into every inch and is worth every penny. After all, not only will you be walking out with a gorgeous piece but you'll be supporting First Nations artists.
Ordered "Thunderbird Arrives" wool blanket online. Delivery was quick and the blanket is made of a thick, high-quality wool that's warm but not itchy. Design is very striking and I've gotten many compliments on it. Customer service was good too; I asked a few questions before ordering. Would replace all my throw blankets with these if I had the space/money.
Love the "Two Spirit" blanket! And so many of the beautiful Native designed wool blankets.
Great friendly staff and great gifts. I love that Eight Generation buys artwork and patterns that are actually made by people who are native american. The Salish blanket is my favorite and I've giving it to many friends and clients. It's a blanket that is modern and truly northwest in style.
Roquin helped my husband and I and he was very friendly and knowledgable about the products. We love our products. Thanks for a great shopping experience during our first time in Seattle.
Eighth Generation is an incredible store. I highly recommend visiting for beautiful, thoughtful, and locally designed gifts. The blankets are great gifts for any occasion. We got one for our wedding, and we cherish it.
Love this store! I have bought soaps and earrings and everyone is also so helpful and nice. The artwork is so beautiful, I am a huge fan.
Amazing native owned, operated, and native supporting. One of a kind in Seattle and the PNW!!
Beautiful indigenous art made by brilliant indigenous artists.
Fantastic shop and a highlight of a visit to Pike Place Market. There's a wide array of work by a number of Native artists and artisans and the shop takes care to promote each individually.
I'm from the Salish Seas area born in Seattle. Currently living in Florida. I purchased a Scarf from 8th Gen. and it got lost on the piny expess after finding out it didn't make it to destination. I emailed and expessed my concerns. 8th ended working with me and Completing order by sending another. I Recomend and Will Continue Supporting 8th Gen
The staff is very courteous and available to give all the explanations needed to contextualize the pieces on sale.
The objects are very particular and thanks to the involvement of the "Inspired Natives" they reproduce some elements typical of the natives' tradition.
The designs of the blankets are very beautiful, both those of wool and cotton. Excellent as a souvenir of the city and / or as an "original" gift.
Had a great experience shopping at the Pike Place Market Eight Generation store. Opportunity to admire a nice selection of products but also learn about different tribal nations and their culture.
