Eden Roc at Cap Cana - Relais & Châteaux Review

Beautiful Suite with private pool and golf cart. Very good dinner at the Mediterranean Restaurant and Excelsa Dinner at the Nikei Restaurant with Chef Juampi. Outstanding Pastry and Bakery.

An amazing beautiful slice of paradise! We had an absolutely fabulous week! Our villa/suite was impeccable, quiet and we loved the privacy of our pool! The entire staff from the hotel to all the restaurants were excellent & attentive without being overbearing. In particular, Liza and Abby who assisted us often were so helpful, kind & always professional..."Anything is possible at Eden roc"! Golf was outstanding, food AMAZING, and the ocean views... gorgeous!
We are looking forward to returning again!

Refused to refund or credit my $3000 when covid travel restrictions started in March 2020. Called several times and staff claimed no one spoke English. Total rip off STAY AWAY

One of the best boutique hotels in the Dominican Republic, still in its reopening in the midst of the crisis due to the COVID19 Pandemic, the place remains exceptional and its staff, some stars.

Incredible - absolutely incredible. Paradise and so close! We had a great time and plan to visit again with the kids. It's clean, rooms are generous, food is exceptional and the spa is great. We loved the fact that it wasn't one of those overcrowded supersized hotels. Intimate, elegant and so lovely. The staff went above and beyond to make our visit so special.

It's the most exclusive customer service oriented place I've ever been to.

Worst hotel experience. The staff was super rude, we never had clean towels, my kids were always upset as the staff never keep their promises the food was always cold, wrong and took at least one hour to come.. The worst hotel I've been.

My husband and I were able to do a LAST MINUTE honeymoon at Eden Roc and were so pleased we did. We were blessed with a lovely villa with private pool and golf cart to get us to and from the beach. The property was well-maintained and the staff was so accommodating and welcoming.

Rossy the beach waitress ALWAYS made sure we were taken care of, even on the days she wasn't working the beach. Terry made sure we came to our palapa and umbrella with beach towels waiting. The staff took such great care of us and seemed to make sure we had everything we needed. I ended up with an ear infection on the last night there and the staff made sure the pharmacy delivered meds to my villa before our flight the next day.

Having so many food options made it easy to stay on property and always have a great meal. We didn't ever leave..didn't need to. We have had the opportunity to travel all over the world and we would return to Eden Roc again and again.

The resort is the perfect choice to spend a few days in the Caribbean, relaxing, drinking fruit cocktails, training, swimming, sunbathing... improvable the service and some details about the trips suggested by the hotel.
Location 9/10
The resort is located in a protected area, not everyone can enter the place. 15 minutes by car separate the airport from the resort. In general, the location is good if one wants to reach other places where to do some activities, in one hour distance one can reach a small port where to rent boats and in the surroundings, there is also an escape park. There is a pond with many iguanas before entering the resort, you might have a nice encounter if you are lucky! Not 10/10 because around the resort some ruins are rather ugly to see.
Beach: 10/10
The resort is built around a beautiful bay made of white sand and crystalline water.
Palm trees frame the back of the beach and yellowish rocks stuck in the sand make the view even more picturesque.
The best moment to enjoy the beach is sunrise: the sun emerges from the water and light is all reflected in the waves...
The bay is protected from waves thanks to a wave breaker, water is usually rather warm, which makes it excellent to swim all around the clock. The seafloor is not very deep for a few meters, but watch out when it gets deep because there might be some sharp rocks that hurt your feet.
The beach is well-equipped with single and double seabeds, armchairs, sofas and the guys of the staff are usually friendly and ready to give towels when one arrives.
Gym: 9/10
The gym has everything one might use to train while on holidays, dumbells, pull-ups stations, a few machines for legs, back, shoulder, and chest. A few tapis-roulants and stationary bikes are present as well.
Possible improvement: add curl bar.
The bungalow: 8/10
The bungalow is located close to the beach, at 3 minutes' walking. It has a jacuzzi, a small porch, bathroom, bedroom, and a little sofa. The cleaning service was twice per day, morning and evening. The ceiling is very high and the air-conditioning works properly.
The two flaws of it were the toilet, a bad smell came out of it anyhow, and the jacuzzi. The jacuzzi could not be used by ourselves because old water needs to be pumped out and the system to do it is not explained to guests. One button did not work and apparently, no heating system heats water already present in the pool, only new hot water has to be put in it to use the jacuzzi.
Spa 9/10
All facilities of the spa are stylish and tempt you to stay longer.
Flaw: unfortunately the spa is only open till 6 pm every day.
Service 6/10
The resort is quite large and many different services are offered.
The breakfast service is good, the waiters are friendly and like to call you by name. Unfortunately, there is not much choice in the buffet: there are only sweets, the only salty choice is bread with cheese or butter and the bread is not so fresh. Salty food can be ordered only from the menu but there is no ham or similar.
The dinner service is good, the waiters are very patient and kind. There is maybe a little too much construction when it comes to presenting the roles of themselves. The different choice of food of La Palapa and Blue makes possible to enjoy a different kind of foods from Asian to Mediterranean kitchen... both are delicious.

We asked the butler to prepare the jacuzzi, but actually he only put some bath gel without changing/heating up the old water.

It's a good place to go and clear your mind and forget about the system you got it

Great place to relax, eat a good pasta, drink a cold beer quietly. The place is very well maintained and maintained. A great place to enjoy a dream weekend
