Outrageously poor service. Used to be good till they moved to Robin Hood. I give readings but they still send me estimated bills so they can overcharge me. Bills always arrive a week after the pay by date. They do not respond to written complaints AND one of their operators just hung up on me. Not smart my dear because you will lose not just my business but everyone else I know, dumbo.

Been with Ebico over 2 years, and never had any problems. Still one of the cheapest in comparisons, and the supply is from Renewables. Really pleased. I don't understand the bad reviews here, from my experiences they have been great and customer service answer the phone every time.

Customer service a bit hit and miss. On one occasion I ended up having what was close to a heated argument, instigated entirely by the person who answered my call. I'd never experienced such poor service anywhere before. If you don't have to contact customer service seems fine.

Disgraceful. My 96 year uncle did not give permission for Ebico to take on his account. He was with SSE for many years. Ebico are chasing him for final bill based on estimated bills. Despite writing to one of the directors and several letters about this issue including actual readings, he has had no response. He has got so stressed about this issue. I have passed on the case to CAB on behalf of OFgem. I have posted this as I would not want anyone else to go through what he has gone through for the last 6 months.

Been with them for several years. They wrote recently telling me my direct debit was being increased by 40%. I objected on the basis that they simply want to have more money in their bank and less in mine. They wrote a load of rubbish in justification. I said I was leaving and they agreed NOT to increase the direct debit - but I'd already left by then and have a far better deal! Rubbish company. Avoid.

One reviewer has claimed they've doubled their prices. Well they don't seem to have done that in the past year atleast. Even so, with no standing charge they are still V.G. value. Here's a comparison: With my previous supplier, who has just More

Been with them prior to Robin Hood energy, maybe not their best move...changing review to 1 star, as their incompetent administration left me being sent a debt collection letter when balance not due! Actually, this company used to be fabulous, now just avoid!!!!

Have been with them for years. Initally great company, good tafiifs and great customer service. Now gone so far down that they are in the gutter. Subjected my 88 year old disabled mum, to multiple bill errors, failure to get back to her, high tariffs, refusal to investigate a faulty 30 year old meter. Today waited 1h45 mins on hold to get through them, only to be told adviser did not understand her bill himself... then cut the phone!

Absolutely useless

Absolutely useless

I changed from Npower to get better customer service on a renovation i'm doing 5 months later i'm still waiting for a gas meter to be fitted this is the last piece of the puzzle. Lost income from 6 day off work waiting for engineers to arrive who were either unqualified or never turned up. Lost to date a month of rent waiting for them to arrive where i could have moved in. Account got deleted so this cause d further Delays

Really unimpressed

Used to be the best but now just the same as the rest of the crooked industry. What ever happened to:

- no standing charge?
- no extra charges for paying quarterly bills, rather than using monthly direct debit?
- only one, easy to understand, tariff?
- infrequent price changes?
- no extra charge for paper billing?
- same price if you have a prepayment meter?
- easy to understand billing?
- no greenwash?
- easy to contact and great customer service?

All gone.

Over the past couple of years Ebico have won the race to the bottom and taken up the same dubious practices and confusion marketing as the rest of the rip-off energy industry. Why bother with them? The sooner the whole lot of them is nationalised, the better.

I joined originally because there was no standing charge on the meters - now somehow that has changed and i am paying twice as much for the standing charge as i use in Gas !!! How is this helping low users in fuel poverty ?!?!? Looks like the Neolibs have taken over and don't understand about Humans .

I see some negative comments, they are misleading.
I have been with company, never had any issues.
They were the cheapest. And they have very good customer service.
Check out the ( truspilot reviews on Ebico).
Very positive, as it should be.

I chose Ebico for the following reasons after reading about them in a union magazine who look after their members with varying salaries, needs and circumstances.
1) They help those who are affected by fuel poverty. They provide attractively priced plans designed for customers who find that their home energy costs are a major item of their household expenditure and who, therefore, need to budget prudently, either by being as efficient in energy use as possible, or through the use of a prepayment meter.
2) Unlike other energy providers, Ebico is a Limited by Guarantee company and has no shareholders. This means that they cannot financial surpluses for purposes other than pursuing the mission, which is to fight fuel poverty. They achieve this by using the financial surpluses to support local, hands-on, projects in fuel-poor neighbourhoods across Britain via the Ebico Trust, a registered charity

More personal reasons is that I have been using them for some time and they were linked to SSE .and have always kept me updated of any changes in tariffs. I have moved house and closed the accounts down efficiently and when I moved and changed supplier this was also done efficiently as well - you can leave meter readings on an automated phone line at any time of day or night

Customer services have always been better and I am not keen on any of the big 6 providers whose customer services are worse and wait for hours

There has not been the pressure to change over to smart meters either
