I don't know who answers the phone, but rude seems to be the norm. I'm calling to check on my son, I understand confidential information cannot be given out, but I've called a few times and haven't heard from him. You would think they could go get him, put him on the phone. Just once I would like somebody to go above and beyond, instead of being rude, or mad you picked the job, so take pride in it.

Do not get your mail sent here! I was dislocated due to poor housing, first place bugs, second a house fire. I was told and given permission to have my id- license sent here, the DMV assured me it should've been there, the front desk chick, was rude, hung up on me! Now my id is SOMEWHERE and God only knows who or where it is!!! NOT COOL, AND NOT OK! I FILED A POLICE REPORT! BE CAREFUL!!!!

These folks do a GREAT service for veterans who are homeless or needing other kinds of assistance. My case manager has always been very kind and helpful, and EOCP has really been there for me when I needed help!

My only issues are: The lobby is extremely noisy, lacks enough seating for people waiting to be seen, and always seems to have flies circling the middle of the room. The security gate at the entrance is imposing and unwelcoming. I would love to see a mural out there, or even a friendly sign that makes you feel more welcome.

The lobby does have an awesome mural to look at, and the people behind the desk are usually friendly - very busy, and probably overwhelmed with so many things to do, but I do like them. You just have to be patient in waiting for them to get to you at times. I only say this because I know some people have a hard time with patience, but the staff really are nice people. Just give them a chance.

Every caseworker I've ever spoken to has been very helpful in answering my questions or referring me to someone who can answer my questions. Again, I am sure their caseloads are pretty packed, so sometimes return calls and emails are a little slow, so again, patience is the key.

Unfortunately my father stayed at this facility for 2days, and I had to manuver my life to bring him home with me because there is no way his hygiene can be kept up l in this facility. upon his arrival the bunking quarters were clean but the matresses was filthy. I have posted some photos that were taken of the bathroom and shower quarters and im absolutely appauled that the most vulnarable people in the oakland community have to deal with these type of conditions its disgusting, these people deserve livable bathing and bathroom conditions.
One photo shows a vommit filled toilet in a 3 stall bathroom that is completely unusable and bio hazzard problem and has been like this for 3days with absolutely no fixing.
Also a the shower stalls looked to have mold and rust and just plain filthy. These are such unfortunate conditions I will be contacting corporate office to discuss how to manage a cleaner environment for those in need.

Signed concerned oakland resident.

When you are experiencing homelessness, displaced ...

When you are experiencing homelessness, displaced from employment, or facing almost terminal life issues it's good individuals have this community support system.

EOCP has a dedicated staff and a team of professionals at your dispatch to assist in housing search, issues of addiction, money management and a host of additional social challenges calling for social services coordination.

A friendly and welcoming place, staff and professionals work hard to provide a safe and clean environment.

It is congregated living for sure but EOCP strives to build community. Participants have their challenges and life struggles to include mental health and substance use/abuse.

I have heard nothing but the best, considering one's circumstances, about EOCP. In partnership with your support person, Participants who develop a plan of action, implement, and stay focused usually achieve objectives, and their desired sought after goal.

FYI: EOCP is a referral based shelter but does double as a winter shelter, or possibly nightly during inclement weather.

Good luck!
