Easily the best landlord I've had in NY. Our building in the east village is well maintained and has no pest problems. Being an old building, sometimes there are issues, but the super always makes a good effort to fix things quickly. Sometimes you need to wait for parts or a special technician, but it will always get dealt with.
I like that they work with an in house broker so you can avoid paying broker fees and their new online payment system is easy to use. It's always possible to get in touch with someone at the main office if you have questions.
I'd happily continue to rent from DSA!

Please! Never rent any apartment with this company, their apartments have a lots or problems (mice, cockroaches, leks, damage pipes, and more! They make verything nice when they wants to rent but after 1 month, the people just wants to run away! Please please don't rent any with them! Don't waste your money, time and peaceful. Be safe! The office is full of rude people, they will never do anything for the tenants! they only want the monthly check and they are not interested for any more. I'm just want to finish this contract and run away! Their apartments in Brooklyn are discussing! (I'm in Park slope 449 16th St!) (Out of respect I do not put pictures of cockroaches and other bugs).
This review is for our building s new super Ben Baliddemij. Ben is extremely proactive and responsive when we notify him of an issue in the building. The work he puts forth to finding solutions to problems is of utmost quality and excellence. He s an amazing and down to earth person. I have met many supers in buildings prior but I can definitely say that Ben s level of professionalism and communication is exemplary.
The 5 star rating is aimed at our new Superintendent, Ben Baliddemi. Ben tackles the issues and gives it 110%, he's professional and down to earth, easily one of the best Supers I've ever dealt with. Keep up the great work Ben!
DSA seems like a great company at first, but once you have a real problem you'll quickly learn that they are anything but that.
Our first problem, and an entire problem for the building, was that our packages were being stolen for months and continue to be stolen to this day. We first started having the problem in October and I am writing this review September of the next year. At first it was "call the police, it's not our problem." Finally they hired a door man to work night shifts, but we continued to tell them that the packages were being stolen during the day. They eventually had to fire the door man, because he started to kick people off the roof unless they paid him $20 under the table and in secret..
The second issue we had with them was that once summer came our apartment began to have molding problems that caused over $3000 in damage. When we tried to explain our issue they first blew us off, but finally admitted they "knew about the issue and had plans to fix it for months now." When they came to fix it they installed a tiny vent into the room, left our apartment trashed, and it didn't solve the problem. When we explained that the mold was coming from the floor and asked them to come see they refused to come by, even after we requested them to 3 times. They finally sent contractors to install a giant hole in our wall, which again trashed our place. They refused to send cleaners and again did not listen when we told them what we need is new flooring. Cloths were ruined, dressers were covered in mold, we threw away our bed, the list goes on.
Among those two bigger things we have had issues with flooding, bad plumbing, our water heater breaking, roaches and mice. They will not communicate their email, because they are "not allowed". Clearly they don't want any record of their issues in case they are brought to court. Talking to our building manager Yudah has turned into him screaming at us, calling us a liar, and just flat out hanging up on us. I will never work with DSA again and hope this finds its way to any other potential renters.
This review is for 106 Fulton Street, their newest building. This building was converted from ex Pace dorms. If I can give this apartment 0 starts i would. DSA are SLUM LORDS. This week the pipe burst and flooded the apartment with dark and disgusting water. This not only happened in our apartment, but many other apartments in this building.
They claim they "renovated" this building. But literally all they did was put in new appliances in the kitchen and thats it. The windows are horribly insulated, they constantly have to turn the heat off to fix the pipes.
The fire alarm is ALWAYS going off, sometimes in the middle of the night because they are doing maintenance work. That combined with construction that goes on all night, homeless people right outside the apartment front door, makes this place an absolute nightmare. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT rent at this building or from DSA management. These guys are lying slum lords who will charge you an arm and a leg for a sub-standard apartment.
If a broker tells you about 106 Fulton, do yourself a favor and do not even waste your time seeing the place. Because odds are the broker will be lying to you as well.
