I would like to thank the entire staff of Dry Harbor Nursing Home for caring for my mother, Raisa K., throughout her 4 years at the facility.

My mom passed away at the age of 95, and had managed to avoid hospitalisation throughout her 4 years in the care of Dry Harbor staff, despite her numerous health-related issues (including dementia, Alzheimer s, refusal to shower, eat, etc.) which were attended to with kind and professional care by the entire staff of the 5th floor of the facility.

I am particularly grateful to the following members of Dry Harbor staff who had been responding to my mother s needs for over 4 years:

Mr. J. Krieger, Administrator
Ms. M. Mahoney, Head of Nursing
Dr. J. Rowal
Ms. A. Yakubov, 5th floor Supervisor
Ms. S. Ernest, Nurse
Ms. T. Babadzhanova, Nurse
Ms. G. Tomas, Nurse
Ms. E. Pan, Dietician
Ms. E. Yvrose, CNA
Ms. S. Marcelin, CNA
Ms. C. Napolitano, Recreation

..and many others.

I could not recommend them more highly. Excellent service. They really care! My dad wasn't well and they got him back on his feet while making him feel like a priority. He didn't want to go home!

I recently finished a stint at Dry Harbor Rehabilitation Center. It was a short stint because they got me back in great shape very quickly after knee surgery. They were so good that I actually looked forward to going to therapy. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility to friends & family.

I am writing this review on behalf of a beloved family of mine that their loved one was placed in Dry Harbor's care to nurse him back to health after an amputation. Instead of being nursed back to health, he was sent home from the hospital to his home on hospice. This was due to the neglect of this horrific nursing home. I saw the condition he was in before he was sent to Dry Harbor to get rehabilitated -- he was alert and doing pretty good. He is now home with round the clock care by his loved ones. His health has deteriorated to a point where he is unrecognizable. His medical, physical and mental status in horrific deterioration due to Dry Harbor's lack of skilled staff. Please keep your loved ones from this place.

This place is the pits, a hell-hole. My dad had two falls within two weeks...one from his bed and one from a wheelchair. We brought him home with a huge bedsore which they called "a blister". They were constantly pushing to sign up for medicaid ensuring they could keep him there forever. He is in worse shape now than before. Why was he here? North Shore Hospital blindsided my mother during a visit, informing her that he was being moved to the Dry Harbor Nursing Home that very day. I give them one star only because my dad said that two attendants were really great--- Nino and David---whose last names I don't know. If it weren't for those two gentlemen, the facility would get NO STARS! Seems like everything is dollars and cents with them. God help those with no visitors to keep tabs on the treatment received and their well-being.

My dad was transferred here after he was in the hospital to do short term rehab to gain strength to walk again. I don't know what kind of care they provide but its the WORST care ever. Don't allow your loved ones to be sent there. I was told my dad ate he did not eat anything nurses are not very friendly and instead of my dad getting better he got worst and no one had answers. We would call and they would say he doing good he's ok. overall horrible experience he will not go back there.

If I didn't have to give a star I wouldn't. That is the worst place ever staff they don't know how to treat people that have to stay there . My father was there for one week, never got the therapy he needed. I brought him home today, I rather give the therapy and services he needs from home.

Do not send your loved ones to this facility. My grandmother has had two incidents a fractured ankle and bruised marks on her body. The staff failed to see that on their own, it had to be reported by a family member. There s not enough staff which or proper protocols in place which is causing gross negligence, maltreatment, and an overall horrific poor care. Stay away from this place!!!

After having a triple bypass, my grandmother was admitted into Dry Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she spent a few months for rehab. She was treated with respect from all of the staff members. Everyone seemed to go above and beyond the assigned duties in order to make her feel at home and comfortable.

Frank the therapist was outstanding, as well as Dr. Rappa. They always gave my grandmother their undivided attention whenever she had an appointment to see them, or even if she just needed to talk to them. It was because of them that my grandmother had a speedy recovery at Dry Harbor.
Whenever it was time for therapy or a visit from the doctor, my grandmother was also eager because of the wonderful staff Dry Harbor has.

When it came to the food, she was granted her requests as to what she wanted to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Overall, I would say that it was a great experience, and I thank Dry Harbor for assisting my grandmother after an extensive bypass. Dry Harbor is an excellent place to reside, and I continue to recommend this facility.

This facility should have been shut down a long time ago.. the air quality downstairs was unbreathable.. there was an outbreak of samonella a few years obviosly from the unkempt kitchen.. Covid so out of control.. over 100 residents and staff died.. HEARTBREAKING!!! I would not put a living Plant in that disgraceful filthy place.

Was a resident there after a tkr. last October. PT and OT oustanding. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Kind and caring staff. They even approved a visit from my dog. Would definitely recommend this facility.

The staff could not have been more caring, loving and supportive to both my father and his family members and friends who visited.
We got lucky to find this place. The building can do with some updating for sure, especially updating the outside seating areas. This is important for the residents, they need an upgrade.
The food was good, building clean, the elevators are slow, not a bad complaint all considered.
We were offered guest meals when spending the day with my Dad, the staff was very considerate and kind.

My mother was here on two occasions. The rehab staff is great...they got her walking in good time. The administrative staff is the worst. The man who handles the finances needs to get an education on courtesy. My mother caught an infection while there which prohibited her being transferred to an assisted living setting. During that time her insurance stopped paying since her rehab covered days had expired. I was told no place would take her until the infection cleared. When it finally did two weeks later they wanted close to $6,000.00. Before I could even make a case the guy from the finance office threatened to go to collections and to report me as deadbeat to all the other assisted living places so they would not accept my mother. This is all before I said one word. Nice guy...Had I known I would have transferred her to a local hospital where insurance would have covered the cost. This was never explained. I spoke to everyone I could in the admin office but no one would assist. Not even to adjust the cost. I was force to come up with the cash as quickly as possible since the meter was kept running while I borrowed the cash. Not very nice people but they will be old one day too. It was an expensive lesson for someone who never had to go through an elder parents rehab. Beware of them. Find another place if possible. I hope the right people in senior management read this and make changes with administration. Your rehab staff is great.

I was here for 6 weeks for rehab. Most of the nurses and aides were kind and did their jobs well, except no one took over to help you if your aide was on her break. However I was told by other nurses that this is the norm. I was informed late in the 1st week of Oct that the insurance company decided that I could receive "custodial care" at home and I was to be sent home on Friday. When I told the social worker to look into this for me she was rude and unprofessional. I called my insurance company three times over a two week period and was told that no physical therapy notes were sent to them for the 1st week of Oct and also they had given me until Monday to leave . I was "allowed" to stay until Saturday only to be sent home with no equipment of my own, only items borrowed from Dry Harbor. I was not ambulatory , could not get inside my bathroom and had no commode until Wed. So I was home alone, changing my own diapers! No one should be treated this way.

I was very unhappy with the results when we brought our mom home. We were told that she was eating very good. Other people there told us that she's not eating. Very conflicting results. We were also told that she was was walking 75 steps with close to no assistance. When we brought home, she couldn't take 2 steps.

My aunt recently finished her stay at Dry Harbor and all of us were extremely happy with her care. The nursing staff was warm and caring, the administration was very organized, and everybody made sure we were updated on her condition at all times. Dry Harbor blows away all of the other nursing home and assisted living facilities in the area, so call them first to see if they have availability. Thanks Dry Harbor!

My father was admitted after the hospital here and spent nearly a month and a half. I do have to say that given the COVID times they have cooperated very professionally and well. I am impressed with the services and the patience that they have had with my father. I do want to say that working in a health care facility is not as easy as most people think and therefore we all need to be mindful with the work that they do. As someone who works in healthcare I understand the stress that undergoes taking care of patients. Dry Harbor social workers as well as the nurses did a good job and I would like to thank them for everything. My father is not an easy person to take care of and given everything he went through he himself was impressed with the service.

DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES TO THIS FACILITY!!!!!!
They are extremley short staffed. The medical care is MEDIOCRE. It's not at all what I expected a Rehab center to be.
I sent my aunt here recommended by her treating physician. (82, broke her femur, had surgery, lives alone). IF I DONT SPEAK UP FOR HER THINGS DONT GET DONE! (Imagine the patients that don't have family)
PT she says is ok. But could be better.
She's in the rehab side, but treatment is as if she was bound to stay there. She's in a wheel chair all day, looking at TV in a Dinning room.
No MD follow ups at the facility.
SHE WASNT ON THE LIST FOR DINNER TODAY AND THEY SCRAPPED UP A MEAL, only because my mom said something.
THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE PATIENTS.
Giving 1 star wishing I could give 0

A terrible place; unprofessional staff and incredibly noisy. Residents all have TV's on, and there is no time when they must be turned off. Routine requests, such as a walker or commode to enable me to use the bathroom, were met with a shrug. Did I mention the man howling down the hall?
If any other facility is available, choose it over this place.
