Quite disappointing. In my opinion terrible wine. Cheap low-quality cheeses and meats. Stale bread with water added to re-heat. Everything in this place reeks of low-class, mediocre, sub-standard, overly commercialized, "big-box" type impersonal factory, especially the ambiance. The clientele seem happy to be there though. Loud and obnoxious. Hence the high rating.

Stale Trail mix on the charcuterie board. Come on guys.

Celebrated sister's birthday here. A reservation was helpful because the 7 of us got our own personal tasting bar. The server for the tasting was fun. Wine was great, and we purchased a few bottles to take with us!

Great wines and customer service! Despite being here several times, we always do a tasting because it's hard to pick favorites. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, the history of this place is interesting too. The atmosphere here is lively but not loud, light, and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit!

My wife and I went here recently and really enjoyed the experience. Diana was our wine tasting coordinator and proved to be knowledgeable and very pleasant. We learned the background of how the winery came to be and about the quality of the wines. They have been around for a while and have won numerous awards for their wines. There is a beautiful pond there with picnic tables and chairs and tables around. A very idyllic setting.

We enjoyed the visit enough that we joined their wine club. The other patrons there were engaging and fun.
If you have the chance you should also try their bacclava. It was awesome.

We plan to go back often for their evening live entertainment and the rotation if different food trucks providing a variety of foods .

Wonderful atmosphere. We showed as a party of three with no reservation, the hostess was very accommodating and found us a table. All tables were 8+feet away keeping social distancing guidelines. The wine was excellent and affordable. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and would highly recommend.

We were headed to a different winery that we had been to a few times before. For some reason we decided to stop at Doukenie instead. What a find! I liked all the wines but am partial to the cab sauv. There are a lot of pleasant wines in NOVA. this vineyard and winery stood out for its pure charm. Beautiful setting, not uncommon, but the ducks on the pond, the horses, the cattle grazing and most particularly the owner's mother. She offered a sample of her homemade Baklava. I don't think I have ever met a more charming woman of her age. She states it is 92 1/2. I have never enjoyed a tasting as much as I did here. It was a wonderful surprise.

Went to this winery after reading about it online. It was very beautiful and had a great ambience. After trying a few flights I realized the wines were not of my taste but decent and similar to table wines at most places. The staff was beyond friendly and I will definitely come back for a relaxing day by the pond in the summer and give the wines another shot.

While the wine is good, the environment nice, the energy and attitudes of much of the staff, including whom I noticed in many pictures on the walls outside the lavatory to be one of the owners (a female) was cold, arrogant or au-dessus des autres , scowling at me after I extended a nod and smile as I walked around the tasting room. Probably one of the most pretentious and impersonal wineries ever visited. Bought their wine but won t be back.

Visited for the Destination Races half marathon in June of 2017. The property is extensive and pretty nice, but the road leading to it was a bit of a challenge for my car (low ground clearance). We tasted two of the host's wines during the post-race festival--both nice, but neither memorable to buy a bottle. If I came back on a wine adventure, I would definitely check out the outdoor deck seating and take in the wonderful view!

Beautiful grounds but for the price tasting pours could be better. They came in plastic dressing cups and were maybe one sip. Even with COVID, they should serve in a proper wine glass. Their wines were ok, nothing to brag about. We each ordered tasting and shared a bottle. I also felt rushed by our server. It s a winery, people want to slow down and enjoy the scenery. I won t be coming back. There are better plenty of better wineries around.

The key to a good winery is the tasting experience and great wines. Thankfully this place has both. The tasting experience is educational and entertaining; something that less wineries focus on these days. And the wines are great as well. Definitely check this place out.

Did not even stay for a tasting. When we asked the server about tastings, he did not even acknowledge us, he said look at the board. Rude. We do not like when you cant pick your own wines to taste. Especially for $12 a taste. We tried to speak with him and he just read a receipt and ignored us. We were the only people in there also, so it wasnt even busy. He didnt even care that we were industry, every other place has been great about that. I dont rip many places, but this is the rudest place we have ever been to. Save your time and money. Way to many other great places in the area!!!!!

Unfortunately we didn't get to taste the wines b/c we were heading back home but we did get to have a picnic by the picturesque pond. Beautiful view, surrounded by mountains and great for a romantic sit on the ground traditional picnic or you can use thier various picnic tables. Recommend having bug spray though b/c you are so close to the pond water.

Such a lovely afternoon. I felt like the world just slowed down a bit as we shared a couple of flights of wine with some olive tampenade on the patio. Lovely musician playing nearby, really made the experience complete.

We will certainly be back soon when the leaves will be in full color!

I told the wine server that I did not like white wine, so she substituted extra red wines for my white wines which was fantastic! The reds are French oak, and some slightly over oaked for me. However the Zeus was a great red blend that was not over oaked. BBQ for dinner from a local food truck. What's not to love...

Downright rude "service" and snobbery! I almost can't believe how obnoxious their "wine educators" (yes, multiple) were to us and other patrons! Don't bother coming here unless you're a member of their wine club, or they'll treat you like you're an annoyance. Really cliquish and childish attitudes abound here.

As soon as we walked in, we're told by a young guy bussing glasses to head to the small bar if we'd like to order a glass of wine. We do so, and see that the woman staffing that bar was busy helping some other people sign up for the wine club. That's perfectly fine, we're willing to wait patiently to order and do so. Another man is waiting with a bottle of wine in his hands as well. After waiting for almost 10 minutes, the "wine educator" finishes her ostensibly polite interaction with the new wine club members and turns her attention to the gentleman waiting next to us with his bottle of wine. He very politely and demurely begins telling her that he has just purchased this bottle of wine, and that he was wondering if it was possible to have her exchange it with a refrigerated one. Before he can even finish, the woman begins nearly yelling at him in front of everyone that "DO YOU SEE HOW BUSY I AM RIGHT NOW? THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU TO ASK SOMEONE TO EXCHANGE YOUR BOTTLE OF ONE, GO DO IT OVER THERE!!!", as she gestures toward the larger bar. The poor guy sheepishly nodded his head and left. Not how I would have handled on either end, but OK, whatever, it's my turn and I've been patiently waiting at this bar I was specifically told to wait at.

I ask to order two glasses of wine and the woman begins complaining loudly, but not quite yelling like she just did with the other genteleman that I need to go over to the other bar and how she is, for whatever reason, not able to get me a glass of wine right now. I politely, but firmly tell her (in response to rudeness) that we were told by another employee specifically to come to her section of the bar if we wanted to order by the glass. She begins droning on in a rude but more subdued tone and I turn around to go order from the larger bar. At this point, she has noticed that I wasn't thrilled with her disrespect, and as I'm waiting for a bartender to serve me at the other bar, she tries to change her tone and tells me to come over to a particular bartender at the other end of the bar and begins talking about how "she'll serve you right away, don't worry I'll make sure you're taken care of". I make a comment to the effect of "It's not the waiting that is an issue". I don't mind waiting to be served at a busy bar, but unprovoked rudeness towards patrons is simply unacceptable.

The first bartender finally gets the other bartender to come serve me where we're now standing at the larger bar. We order two glasses of Cab Sauv and she's mentions that she needs to go get some from the back. After a short wait, she comes back and says, I kid you not: "Well, I checked in the back, and we only have a little bit of Cab Sauv left. I mean, it WOULD be enough for you two, but when we're running low on a bottle of wine, we like to save it for our wine club members, so Pinot Grigio it is!" as she nearly runs off to grab a bottle of Pinot that we never asked for before I can say "no". I grab her attention and say "Excuse me, no, we don't want the Pinot Grigio", still stunned at her snobbish attitude and in-your-face justification for not serving us (I understand if that's your policy, but don't EVER come and tell a patron that you have some wine that they requested and would normally serve it to them, but that they'd rather keep it for their members, so no actually, you can't have any, in a very patronizing tone, to boot) she now, in an annoyed tone says, "Well, what do you want, then?" At this point, I can pretty much hear her tapping her foot on the floor and sighing in exasperation that I'm not allowing her to treat us as rudely as she wants, so I tell her "Nothing. We're leaving."

This winery puts Virginia wine country s best foot forward! Not only is the atmosphere and scenery absolutely stellar, the wines (esp the reds) are amazing! We ve been to a lot of VA wineries, but this is one of the best. Tasting experience was extremely well done by the manager this past Saturday. Wish I could remember her name! I highly recommend this place and look forward to returning.

Website says tasting room closes at 6, showed up at 5:32 and they tell us wine tasting ended at 5:30. Then as we are leaving a man walks in and starts a tasting for another group. It seems the four lazy female employees are the problem who were sitting behind the counter just drinking glasses of wine. We stayed for a glass of wine but will never return again with such poor customer service.

Really liked this place. They had a dog (charlie) to greet you at the door. All of their wines were good and they had a nice variety. The inside is open and welcoming. Large not crowded and they have a lot of nice outdoor patio space for spring and summer. The wine vintner is French so all of the wines are aged in French oak.

Bustling winery with nice firepits, but it's a bummer that kids and dogs are NOT allowed and can't bring your own food. While the tables are socially distanced 6 feet apart and the servers wear masks, the winery was packed with an uppity vibe.

Glad we made an online reservation for the firepits as nearly every table was filled outside. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating (covered in a tent and around firepits). The firepits kept us warm and cozy while it was snowing!

Wine isn't sold by the glass and only through tasting and bottle. The tastings are bit pricey at $12 and the bottles are over $20 and range between $25-$65. I wasn't a big fan of the off-dry white wines with less than 1% residual sugar and glad I went with the Hope's Legacy Raspberry Wine and worth the $24 price tag.

The Hope's Legacy Raspberry Wine is quite jammy and tastes like a port dessert wine with 70% Red Wine Blend and 30% Raspberry Juice. While it's on the sweeter side, it's not too sweet and pairs really well with jam, soft cheese, and chocolate.

My hubby and I ordered a feast! The jammy Fig spread is delicious and pairs well with the Hope's Legacy Raspberry Wine along with the savory Rosemary Crostini crackers and garlicky Boursin Gournay herb cheese with a spicy kick.

The extensive finger food menu includes a variety of cheeses, crackers, meats, charcuterie boards, dips, and s'mores kits! There aren't any hot meals. I believe all of the food is packaged (aside from the sandwiches) and none of it is made on site.

The Conche S'mores kit (you can make 4 s'mores) was a hit! I had so much fun roasting the housemade marshmallows by the firepit. We ended up saving some to make at home (still have it!). Sweet way to end the evening!

Doukenie Winery is a great spot for date night, but I enjoyed the more laid-back Hiddencroft Winery a mile away where my pup and daughter were welcomed.

Good selection of wines at reasonable prices compared to some other Nova wineries. A group of us split a bottle and ordered the plate with a selection of meet and cheeses, sat outside, and enjoyed the scenery and live music. Despite it being Mother's Day it was not over crowded.

Hospitable and courteous staff, lovely views of the lake from all seating outdoors, ample outdoor seating 8-10 ft apart (including seating by the water!), peaceful scenic, nice outdoor music, good snack food and some entrees, and great wines! The Cabernet ($40 non-member) is lovely, as were the other wines we tried. They re still offering wine flights ($12) but not tastings. Older, classier crowd. Lovely experience and we will be back!
