We chose to stay here because it is a pet friendly hotel. Nice and clean, everyone is very friendly and helpful. But there wasn't really a good spot for taking the dog out to relieve itself. Otherwise, I'd give it 5 stars.
So after staying there 2 nights I come to realize this location is definitely not one to choose for professionalism, or relaxation. I almost felt like I was in an extended stay. I'm in Atlanta for business every week and frequent the Hilton different locations. This was one for the books. My towels in the bathroom wasn't replaced with new fresh towels. Did I mention this was the 2nd room. My toilet wasn't cleaned you still seen the stain inside which indicates they don't clean after every stay. Or they need new toilets. They have ONE microwave in the ENTIRE building which is in the LOBBY! This location is about convenience to the actual city. I never right reviews but I realize they are helpful to the next person inquiring about this place.
I have only stayed at 8 other doubletree in the last 2 years. The last one before this one was 20 days ago. I can say this this was the worst one of the eight others. Just like other doubletree's there is nowhere to park at night in the front. No free water bottles for gold, platinum or diamond member at my time of visiting. No late checkouts for platinum, gold or diamond members which is first for me because I always request and get late checkouts. But there was free breakfast for status members no much but free. The ice maker on my floor was out of ice or broken not sure which.
Dirty room, dirty lobby, trash everywhere. The room was noisy from the AC and refrigerator and people partying in the lobby. The room was damp (wet carpet) and the toilet was unclean. The lobby smelled like cigars and the room smelled of cigarettes. When we told the desk clerk that we were unhappy and were checking out after being in the hotel 45 minutes he apologized and said he was only going to charge us for half a nights stay. We should NOT have been charged anything for this terrible visit.
Hotel has gotten worn and tired. Room was not totally clean. Air vent in bathroom was dusty and grimy (room 546) and could have easily been wiped down. Our high school class has been staying there for our reunions for several years. Think it may be time for a change!!
Always a great stay - especially when the bar and restaurant were open.
We were traveling through Atlanta from Florida and needed a lay over. We found this hotel, looked beautiful and paid $160! Surely the hotel is nice. The check in area was beautiful. Then, we made it to the elevator and everything went downhill. The whole hotel smelled strongly of weed. Everywhere. Went to our room and had to change rooms because the smell was so strong. Then the next room still slightly smelled of weed but by this time it was midnight. I woke up in the middle of the night with it again smelling so strongly that I slept with my head under the covers. DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO SMELL LIKE WEED WHEN YOU LEAVE!
This establishment was very nice, the employees were even nicer. They have the most delicious chocolate chip cookies that they give to you free of charge. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that I had to come alllll the way downstairs to warm my food up. They have fridges in the room, but not microwaves. Their hospitality was awesome though!!
This a typical DoubleTree. It's nice and in good shape. I was disappointed that we were not given housekeeping when we requested it, even though the sign in the room said that they would provide it if we requested it. The free breakfast options for gold members were disappointing. If those things hadn't happened, I would give it at least a four.
Checking in was pretty seamless. At first look, the room was very nice. After staying there, I noticed a couple things that bothered me. After showering, water from the shower door would drip out of the shower area to the floor. The ceiling has yellow spots which I'm thinking it's from the condensation from the shower. There's an outlet without a cover plate, that could be hazardous for someone. Not quite sure how loud the a/c unit is for other rooms but my room was loud when it turned on. Good points, I can see that they've been updating the hotel and making it more modern to keep up with other hotels. Parking in the front can be challenging to find when it's packed but there are additional parking towards the back of the hotel.
