Great place to stay with a lovely spa and two restaurants to choose from
Great afternoon tea in a beautiful restaurant. Lots of fabulous teas to choise from. Knowledgeable and efficient waiting team. Beautiful place. I will return.
The hotel is lovely and relaxing, the spa is nice however not very big not enough for a full day. We had the tasting menu and it was fab!
High tea was spectacular! High quality foods, great service in beautiful surroundings. The chef was very accommodating to dietary needs and made a real effort to provide equally stunning food to the usual menu.
Highly recommended!
We loved every second of your stay here. The staff are very friendly and have a "yes" attitude. The rooms are very nice and have been renovated recently (Aug 2016) The spa and swimming pool was spotless. Will definitely be returning. It might sound expensive but you really do get what you pay for.
Simply brilliant. Staff are incredibly attentive. Rooms are a great balance of new and old, finished to a very high spec. Would recommend the potting shed for dining. Spa facilities are excellent.
What a gem fantastic could not find fault anywhere slightly more expensive but worth it
Absolutely fantastic, will definitely visit again. I would highly recommend this last edited to anyone, especially as my son is a chef there
Amazing hotel. How it doesn't have 5 stars I'll never know!
Amazing Spa and facilities! Very relaxing and made so very Welcome
The Dormy House never ceases to delight. I have been enjoying their hospitality for over 60 years and have followed the transformations over that time. We totally love it and their wonderful staff.
Attentive staff. Reasonably priced. Everything about the Hotel is very charming. The room was very nice and had a real cottage feel. Thank You to all at Dormy House. Great spa and breakfast staff. Great Hotel
Incredible country hotel. Brilliant.
service fantastic. Food even better.
Stayed at the Dormy House on 27 April and found it well exceeding our expectations. Honestly don t know why it doesn t command a better Star rating. Room had an amazing view and a terrace; the dinner was outstanding, location couldn t be beat for the views and access to hiking. We found the staff very welcoming and helpful. Even the hotel cat greeted us warmly! Can t wait for an excuse to come back.

Lovely location and facilities. A great selection of whiskey!
We had a birthday meal at the Dormy which was great. The food was fantastic and the service was also. 5 stars.
We stayed at Dormy House a couple of weeks ago and, all in all, were very disappointed.
The rooms and general cleanliness of the accommodation were excellent but the experience was badly let down by both the competence and communication of the staff and the quality of the food.
Dormy house was part of a short staycation tour of some lovely country hotels in the South and South-West and it was by far the worst of the lot.
In short, the aesthetics of the accommodation and the gallery of pictures on their website look great but the beauty in this case is only skin deep.
Note: we did send a similar review of our stay to the hotel with an option for them to contact us for more detail but to date they seem disinterested in taking up the offer...or replying in any way.
We went to the Dormy House for a long weekend break for my wife's 60th birthday I must say it's a
First class hotel with very helpful staff that couldn't do enough for you, good size standard bedroom with very soft comfy bed and pillows, good size ensuite with powerfull shower, we ate in both restraints and the food was excellent with staff that had excellent knowledge of the menu. To Finnish off our stay we spent a relaxing few hours in the well equipped spar which had everything that you need. We will certainly be revisiting this hotel thank you all at the Dormy House for makeing our stay special.
Ok but there are a few things that could be better. Spa, when busy you can never get a sun lounger. People arrive pop a tower on and disappear, should have the rule if in active for more than 30mins the towels are removed. Staff available More
I work night shift here and I love it, soothing on the mind and soul. It's AA 4* Rated and it shows!!!!
I used to work AAA 4* Casino Hotels in Connecticut... There's no comparison to the craziness of Casinos and the tranquility of Dormy, which is out in 400 acres of land in the Cotswolds
Great quote from 'Hotel Babylon'...
"If you can't afford to stay in a place like this, the next best thing is to work in one"
It's true
This is where I'll be writing my book and have I got some stories!!??!??! They'll make your eyes bleed!!!!
Hotel life, it's something else!!
This truly has a warm and welcoming feel and the staff are brilliant! And I'm critical!! Hahaha!
Very pleasant setting and friendly staff. Could do with slight more attentiveness when we had an afternoon tea but definitely returning...
Hotel is charming and offers a lot of options (restaurants, close to many towns, spa facilities) but none of them were particularly impressive. Service was just fair with the exception of one super nice woman at reception. Ex - asked for wellies both days and waited 20+ min both times that we eventually gave up and never got them; concierge pretty useless. Potting Shed restaurant host was unnecessarily snooty and food took forever both there and at the Greenhouse (and wasn t that good). The hotel is clean and well kept but the style /decor was not our taste at all - felt like a weird 70s vibe mixed with English countryside. Spa was OK. Had a nice time but wouldn t return.
Hands down, the best hotel I've stayed in, in the UK.
Everything from the location to the spa and the staff is simply brilliant.
I'd go back again and again.
Beautiful hotel, fantastic service, wonderful scenery!
The hotel itself is truly amazing, nothing was to much or too little the staff are just happy to help at all times. The room was large and very comfortable. But in my opinion I think the spa was only ok. It was a little small and there was not enough loungers, but still very relaxing all the same, definitely 5 out of 5
Perfection - 2nd time staying and just as good as the 1st. Nothing to fault - just lovely.
Beautiful surrounding areas and an exclusive venue.
This place is just full of lovely touches, especially the staff, thank you all for a wonderful stay and making us feel so welcome. The chefs table dinner with paired wines was a great experience and highly recommended. Definitely a place to go back to.
Wonderful, I love it, lovely afternoon tea, friendly staff and nice surroundings.
Absolutely love Dormy House. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed. Lovely spa, beautiful rooms and great food with lots of choice. The best thing is how relaxed and friendly it is, staff are wonderful and very welcoming. Would strongly recommend.
Superb fresh food.
Very friendly staff.
very lovley and cozy, there drinks are very good. Its a great place to relax. They do drinks and meals
Very very nice tea and cakes bit pricey but work it
Beautiful location, comfortable room, relaxing spa. Staff are friendly too.
Fantastic place to come for excelent food and drink either in the potting shed "pub" or the greenhouse for a special occasion, cannot fault it.
Firstly I must explain my star rating. The hotel itself is superb and the staff could not be more professional and welcoming. Dinner in the main 'Garden Room' restaurant could do with table clothes to make the experience more in keeping with a gourmet break, but the food was good. Breakfast however was not good. Toast came in cloth bags to keep it warm. A good idea but problem was that most of the bags needed washing. Hot breakfast was average with very weak coffee. The icing on the cake was a lady sitting at a nearby table whilst openly breastfeeding (she had only recently left her room for breakfast). Not good!.
The break was spoilt for us from breakfast. Would we return,? Not sure.
I am I disabled and have difficulty walking dormy house is the most excellent environment for me as the surfaces are levebthere are no steps but slopes to get to level changes
My husband and I spent stayed at Dormy House for our minimoon in December 2019. The hotel itself is stunning. It was very luxurious and the rooms were so comfy.
Unfortunately, we did however feel a little let down by the service which we raised at the time. The main reason for this was we had booked two different suites as the hot tub room was only available for one night. This meant we had to check out of our first room at 11am and check into our new room at 3pm. We were disappointed as already guests of the hotel our new room was not prioritised in any way. We actually ended up being without a room for over 4 hours and even when we checked into our need room the hot tub was not ready for another hour. This meant we were a little stuck in the spa until we had a room again!
A smaller grumble was as mentioned, we were on our minimoon having got married the day before. We didn't feel this was every acknowledged by the team which was disappointing (despite mentioning at booking).
We stay in the loft room which was beautifully decorated! Food and spa was also great! We will definitely come back!
Lots of spa facilities and good gastro pub grub at the Potting Shed.
Top-notch customer service in a beautiful hotel with crazy attention to detail... Scented toilet paper, anyone?
Have used the Dormy many times but not for a few years. Decided to use it to break up a long journey, so gave them a bell and booked for the one night. Very friendly staff on the front desk and the gent who took us to our room made us very welcome. Lovely room with good views and quiet. Everything we needed was there with fresh milk delivered at the touch of a button on the iPad. Restaurant provided a very special steak meal with good wine. It was noisy while we were eating which did spoil the meal but that was no fault of the restaurant, just a loud group on another table with little respect for other diners. Breakfast was excellent and the staff matched the food, first class.
Stunning location.
Ample off road parking.
Very friendly front desk staff.
Top service from breakfast staff with lovely food.
Restaurant gent could have been more friendly.
Restaurant food excellent!
Must have stayed between 6-10 times and will return again.
Thank you for looking after us.
what a wonder stay. Friendly staff, comfortable room & very clean bathrooms. Excellent breakfast choice. Will stay here again in future.
Went for lunch. Had the T-bone steak cooked in the Berths. Best steak I've ever had. Great atmosphere, good prices, wouls highly recommend.
Came purely for Sunday lunch. We booked in advance and had to wait half an hour for our table. The food was okay but nothing spectacular, probably wouldn t go back.
Lovely 2 night stay, very comfortable and relaxing, lovely staff, lovely surroundings and good food... Perfect
