Doorways: Empowering Young People to Reach Their Full Potential
Doorways is a non-profit organization that provides support and guidance to young people aged 13 to 25 living in and around Saltburn. The organization was founded with the aim of empowering young people to reach their full potential by providing them with the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed.
At Doorways, we understand that growing up can be tough. Many young people face a range of challenges such as mental health issues, family problems, social isolation, poverty, and unemployment. These challenges can make it difficult for them to achieve their goals and aspirations.
That's where Doorways comes in. We offer a range of services designed to help young people overcome these challenges and build brighter futures for themselves. Our team of experienced professionals works closely with each individual to identify their needs and develop personalized plans that meet their unique requirements.
One of our key services is our youth project which provides a safe space for young people to come together, socialize, learn new skills, and access support when they need it most. Our youth project offers a wide range of activities including sports clubs, music sessions, art classes as well as workshops on topics such as mental health awareness or employability skills.
We also provide one-to-one support through our mentoring program which matches each young person with an experienced mentor who can offer guidance on everything from education choices to career paths or personal development goals.
In addition to these services we also run various outreach programs aimed at engaging with hard-to-reach groups such as those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Through these programs we provide practical assistance such as food parcels or clothing donations but also work towards building relationships based on trust so that we can offer ongoing support where needed.
At Doorways we believe that every young person deserves the chance to reach their full potential regardless of their background or circumstances. That's why all our services are free of charge and open to anyone who needs them.
We are proud of the impact we have had on the lives of young people in our community. Over the years we have helped hundreds of young people to overcome their challenges, build their confidence, and achieve their goals. Many of our former clients have gone on to further education or employment and are now making positive contributions to society.
