Let me tell you that this place is the perfect late night comfort food. That being said, it is comfort food, with the grease and all of it. Not your healthy vegan option, but it is still vegan, so it's not the worst option! Their mac and cheese patty melt is to die for! Their southern fried chicken is also really great! We didn't enjoy the wing type one as much, but the breast was delicious. Definitely going to be a regular late night drunk eatery for us!

WOW. This must be the best Vegan food I've had period. Incredible burgers (I had the BBQ Pulled Pork), and the fries were honestly better than In N Out Animal Fries!

All this while maintaining a hole-in-the-wall atmosphere makes Doomie's a lunch/dinner spot you can't miss if you're around.

Great little vegan place! Fast food style kinda menu with lots of tasty items to choose from. It wasn t the best fake chicken but the service surpassed my expectations and made up for it. Jocelyn E served me today. She was working so hard to keep everyone happy and it showed. Really appreciated that!

Also Doomies, get some alternatives in to serve with... plastic just doesn t cut it in 2020.

I've always wanted to try Doomie's Home Cookin'

I've always wanted to try Doomie's Home Cookin'
and went on a Saturday night. It was a little busy but we got a table right away. We shared the assorted tempura, spicy tuna roll, salmon sushi, unagi, kanpachi and Spanish mackerel. Everything was tasty and fresh but the salmon was a little stringy. My favorite was the spicy tuna! The menu is also huge so you're bound to find something you like. The portions were generous and the service was good. I'll definitely come back for take out after work.

Yo, Valerie and Tawnya who previously reviewed this place(check bellow) were SPOT on about the chicken! It s looks good but after two or three bites you ll regret it. That s just my honest opinion because it actually was the case for me. They wrap the chicken in some plastic looking dough that s supposed to replicate chicken skin. It literally looks like some sort of first aid bandage. And if that doesn t turn your stomach the moment you notice it; the overly rich/grease will. Granted standard friend chicken can at times be greasy, but this places grease game is 10 for 10. Next time you order, squeeze a French Fry. I guarantee you ll get enough grease to oil your scalp. The number one fear I have with vegan food, this place delivers to a T! And that the fear is, MOST under developed vegan places are just trying to ride the wave of being vegan and to do that they over saturate products with, grease, salt, sugar, or any other seasoning just to make it taste good. The sad reality is that it doesn t. Again, the first bite, or the second might be alright. And you ll be happy like I was that you found your vegan spot, but I promise you after a few more bites, if your like me, you ll be googling what the heck this stuff is made of...(also the Mac & cheese taste like Kraft...kraft isn t good..) The staff is cool tho. Extra star.

The fried chicken was not good it tasted weird and had this thin layer of what I believe was imitation skin that had a weird texture. The macaroni and cheese was okay, I wished it was warmer. The only good thing was the animal fries. The chicken would ve tasted better with ranch or something.

Basically vegan drunk food. Our server was really nice and accommodating but food was sub par. Ordered the mac n cheese as I figured the best vegan mac n cheese normally comes from soul food joints well not in this case so I sent it back and got the bacon cheese burger instead which was not all that. I make vegan burgers all the time and I have to say the one's my boyfriend and I make at home are hands down better. My advice- go drunk as that'd probably be your best experience as that's the type of food you get. Not sure if they're open after club hours but that'd be the only time I go again. Got the carrot cake of which I took to go so I'd need to follow back up with you on that. As stated earlier the best experience was probably our waitress. Bathroom hadn't been tended to in a while as there were piles of paper towel in the toilet and no toilet paper but nice lighting and mirrors.

The most realistic vegan bacon I have ever tasted. Their French fries are perfectly crispy. Their chicken is so delicious. I also got a vegan brownie to go. It was so good. Definitely will go again

Visiting from Sacramento, daughter is vegan so we are taking in as many vegan restaurants as possible. Pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the various foods offered. The bacon cheeseburger is very tasty though the the bacon is a tad salty for myself. However...the Pesto fries are to die for. Not easy to find a good Pesto that doesn't overwhelm the palate and Doomie's gets this right. Visit, you'll be glad you did.

Stopped in about midnight on a Friday. Restaurant was about half full. Ordered the Philly cheese steak and fried chicken. Server was pleasant and attentive. Food came out quickly and was delicious! The vegan fried chicken even had a sugar cane "bone"! And I got another laugh when the check was delivered in an empty cassette tape case. Overall great experience and would definitely recommend

I loved it. I feel it delvers exactly what it says it will. The breading on the fried chicken was really crispy and seasoned and the mac n cheese is reminiscent of KFC. I've only had delivery one time and I've been trying to get back ever since. I even got lost looking for it. Really good in try one.

I love this place. All vegan but more importantly all delicious. I've had the fried chicken platter but by far the best thing so far is the SHRIMP ROLL. Ridiculously good. And filling. I wouldn't say expensive. Not the cheapest vegan food you'll find, but they surely dont cheat you on the portions. Loads of fries and the shrimp roll is overflowing with the vegan shrimp. I wasnt a huge fan of the mac n cheese. Wasnt disgusting, but honestly I'm black and picky about mac n cheese so it may just be me. Love the server I have every time. I should learn his name because his menu knowledge and overall helpfulness gets an A++. One of these days I'll try not to over eat so I can have something from the amazing dessert case.

Anyone who says this place is less than the best thing ever is just wrong and probably sucks at being cool. My friend and I have a bet going to see who can find something on the menu that isn't perfect first. It's not working out. Because everything rules. This place rules. Doomies rules. Ya know what? I'm gonna go right now

Been coming here for years. It's basically vegan comfort food. Over all the years, the quality of the food has not changed. Try the buffalo wings, mac and cheese, and save room for Tira Mi Su. The portions are HUGE. The Mac and cheese is non-dairy. It Non-vegans will love it too.

Was super impressed with Doomies. We had the buffalo chicken sandwich and the breakfast burrito, and both were fantastic. Vegans and nonvegans alike can't go wrong coming here. Our server was very friendly and helpful, and mentioned that next door is their sister restaurant, an all vegan Mexican place, which you can also order from. Can't recommend enough!

Man this place was great. Wish I had one back in Texas. The waiter was very friendly as a first time visitor and gave some great recommendations. Everything on the menu is vegan so feel free to pig out and not feel guilty about it.

I would recommend anything involving their cheese (either adding it to their fries or on a roll).

The rolls are so good. On pictures I saw online before I came here I was ready to be disappointed since it looked like stale hot dog buns. Those low quality and low light pictures do not do it justice! They re so soft and tasty.

Vegan comfort food to the max! This place is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend checking out the Peanut Butter Bacon Cheeseburger - as said by our server perfectly, "It will change your life."

The atmosphere is super cool too! Has a rocker, old-school diner feel. It makes me feel like I should be wearing a poodle skirt when I come in here, or at the very least have a mohawk. Love it!

I made the mistake of expecting healthy vegan food...

I made the mistake of expecting healthy vegan food here. It's all fake mac and cheese, fake cheeseburgers, and fake nachos. It's great if you're not watching your diet and just want some comfort food. The parking lot is free sometimes and other times it's not. The restaurant is a madhouse with servers running around looking panicked. The time we went, it was seat yourself but we didn't know that so we stood around waiting to be helped. It wasn't til we overheard another guest ask about the seating situation that we found out we could have been sitting down that whole time. Service is slow because there's only a few servers and a full restaurant. The food was pretty good, though, I will say that. It's definitely a get in, get out type of place. Not sure if I'd be back, but I don't not recommend it...

The food is good. It legit tastes as regular food. However im assuming you have to be used to eating vegan before eating here because my stomach my was not able to handle the food hours later. The prices are also very high. 4 combos we got turned out to be $90. On top of that. they have no ice on their soda machine, so we had to drink warm soda on a hot day!! Btw these combos are plain. Their only pricy because of the vegan product being used. So if youre a rich vegan who likes warm water or soda then you have found the spot.

The food here is very good and incredibly similar to its non vegan counterparts. The Philly cheese steak was delicious and heavy like the real thing, just a bit small. Tried the burger burger as well and again, pretty good and quite large. The fries though were over seasoned. The service... Well, they were there but not really, it was busy but they seemed pretty well staffed, maybe it was an off day? Oh and the fried Oreos were awesome, but for the price, only four seems a bit stingy.

Burger was sooo bad. So much salt, patty was rubber. Restaurant was very unclean. And the guy working yelled at me for opening the door with my foot. Door handle was grooosss. Very disrespectful. Nobody wearing gloves. I wouldn t recommend to my worst enemies. Especially during this time.

Nope. Absolutely don't recommend this place. Nice and friendly waitress, but food is awful. Kitchen service is absolutely bad: they served us old and cold French fry. Was replaced with new and hot dish by waitress. Burger was okay. But tomatoes inside was white and cold just from freezer. What is this all about?! 2 stars for waitress job and table with Batman, kitchen is absolutely awful.

Very friendly service, and really good food, all vegan! I had a mac and cheese patty melt and it was tremendous. It may be a temporary thing, but I was delighted to see they had just plain french fries, instead of those nasty things covered with the seasoning salt they used to have. I hope the change is permanent.

The comic book table tops were pretty cool to browse while we waited for our food. Due to Covid thrre was not table service but we were able to order at the podium and dine in. I was really surprised with the buffalo chicken legs and how chewy they were. The texture is important when imitating a dish and I think they did a good job. We were pleased with the jalapeno peppers and fried avocado as well. Mac n cheese was good but tasted like it was missing something..like salt. However the chicken parm was really good and dense. You can order one of those and be full for half the day.

I am not Vegan or vegetarian. Loved the food. I had the "shrimp" appetizer and the poor boy. I added Buffalo sauce and ranch the my poor boy and it was outstanding. Animal fries also rocked. Tried my wife's burger, and it was great. Love the local ambiance, great music.

Very nice meal. I had the fried chicken basket and upgraded the fries to the bacon and cheese ones which were AMAZING! The Mac n Cheese was the best I ve had since changing to a vegan diet. The fried chicken was okay. The batter itself was lovely and melted in my mouth but it was very greasy. I m not sure what the chicken was coated in before the batter was put on but because I didn t know what it was, I found it a bit off putting.

Literally a Vegan version of the big mac exist in Doomie's Kitchen and it reminds me so much of a big mac that I had to double take...actually it taste better and it's much more savory!

I also went full glutton mode and got fries and vegan shrimp...yes vegan shrimp. Honestly the shrimp wasn't to amazing.
I literally called them and asked if the shrimp was real, and they told me it was made with plant based protein but...I don't know...I couldn't believe it! The texture, how it tore apart in my hands.
It's a pretty amazing menu!

I really really really wanted to die over this foo...

I really really really wanted to die over this food/fried chicken. But it was not as good as I was hoping. The atmosphere is dark and dirty which made me feel the food was probably gross. I did love the breading on the chicken but then there is the odd nasty thin layer of some type of covering over a chunk of tofu or something. The legs more desirable than the breasts. The Mac and cheese tasted rubber and lacked flavor. The Vanilla milk shake was BOMB though, a must try. I didn't try anything else as I am vegan and was CRAVING FRIED . When I went to the bay area I tried the vegan mob and guess was assuming the chicken would hit like that.. but no luck. Would never order these items from here again. So the quest for vegan fried chicken continues. And for $86.00 whoop. In all though hands down for any vegan restaurants doing what they can to save the animals whI doing their best to offer great food. I will try the other items.

It s my first trip to LA and being Vegan I didn t want to miss out on all the American foods. Doomie s is rustic and located in a very odd place but they food and drink selection was amazing! The food was all the classics and more, they make their own nut cheese. It s deffs a place to bring the whole family but also not the worst when your alone and just looking to eat some vegan feelings.

100% vegan comfort food! This place is not for someone on a diet (like me, whoops), but it has DELICIOUS vegan food that I've never found anywhere else! Like the pulled pork burger. The texture was perfect, but the flavoring was a little off so I wouldn't necessarily choose to order it again. However, the animal fries were BOMB and the ham and cheese croissant was literally better than a real ham and cheese croissant, and that was my favorite comfort snack when I ate meat. The German chocolate cake was good, but I've made a better vegan German chocolate cake myself, so I would opt to try the regular chocolate cake next time. Hollywood isn't close to my house, but I HAVE to go back to this place for more, especially for another one of those ham and cheese croissants!

This is my favorite restaurant in LA , it's the 1st place I go when I get in to town usually try to go at least twice when I'm there. Everything is vegan but you wouldn't be able to tell unless someone told you it's hands down the best vegan dinner food I have had. Foods great , staff is super friendly , try the animal style fries if you go I personally think there better then In n Out's

I love Doomie's and have been a fan back in taco cart days. He's someone I will always support and the food is always amazing. Do not come here expecting health food, this is a straight up vegan comfort food spot with amazing desserts and chill atmosphere. We probably go here once a week since we've moved closer. Definitely one of the best vegan places in LA.

I will never run out of good things to say about Doomie's. If you're vegetarian or vegan and you don't mind a few extra calories, you have to try their fried "chicken." This is the dish that sold me on this place and it's just fantastic. Unlike a lot of fake chicken, Doomie's is juicy and has excellent texture along with a fake "skin" that adds to the authenticity and flavor. Beyond this, their dishes are generally tasty and satisfying. This isn't a salad place - this is somewhere to go for meatloaf and gravy or mac n' cheese. They even offer a few secret items, but you'll have to ask about them to find out more. Wholeheartedly recommended.

My first time at Doomies I was hardcore craving some jalapeno poppers and was not disappointed. My second time, the animal fries...and then I couldnt stop thinking about them so the NEXT day i drove 20 minutes to get more with the chicken burger which tasted JUST LIKE KFC. I was actually worried it was real chicken so i had to double check the website to make sure it was a fully vegan restaurant! Doomies is a dream come true for vegans who have a late-night junk-food craving! Thanks Doomies for being open so late, having BOMB FOOD, and friendly servers!
