Quick service on the phone, let me know if they had the gun i was looking for in stock. Too bad they have a policy that doesn't allow them to discuss price.......I am not going to drive to go look at a gun just to see its price. Idiotic policy.

Way overpriced, bad advice, told me it was my fault the 9mm thy sold me continued to jam until i call the manufacturers and got it resolved. Very unhelpful. The talk to you like an idiot if you dont know anything about guns and give the wrong advice.. Never again. Id go to the bunker if your looking for people who care about safety and their customers.. MUCH better guns as well

Do not go to this gun store! The prices are the most gouged, outrageous prices I have ever seen in my entire life. Everything they sell is marked up about 40% more than the typically sell price of a given item by other retailers. The only thing that is appealing about this place is the gun range they have. It's not spectacular but it is a indoor range in Indiana, which is hard to find. Here is an example of their pricing: You can buy a typical 50 round box of field ammo for a 45 caliber gun for $25.00 but Don's was asking $54.99!! This place isn't just priced high, it's a complete rip off.

The store was very crowded with display cases and hard to navigate with other people around, and reminded me of a typical pawn shop only was wall to wall packed with inventory. The staff member i spoke to was nice and understanding when i inquired about a few accessories. I frequent indy for business trips and always stop at the local gun shops for accessories and ammo from Indiana to Pennsylvania. The prices however were beyond a reasonable supply and demand markup. I saw a glock selling for $900 that i bought for $490 a week earlier at another store. They had a huge selection but probably with good reason as the prices were 25-50 percent higher than other local dealers. Theres a nationwide shortage on ammo at the time of this review and im well aware of it. I gladly will pay a small markup within reason. A box of 50. 380 range rounds were going for almost $40 a box. You could hear the concern in the clerks voice when he said that. Theres a difference between supply and demand markup and plain price gouging and i felt beside myself when i saw the pricetags. They have what you need but be ready to pay premium for it. I wouldnt recommended first timers to go there unless you are looking for something very specific that cant be found elsewhere or unless you are looking to sell as they do offer cash for firearms. I passed on purchasing anything.

Been going there for years 2005. Since school back in the good old days , they sold me my first gun it was a pos but what do you expect in 25 cal. Prices are high but staff is friendly if your know how to act responsibly. It s a gun shop act accordingly. I still frequent every other month or so, I ll miss it when I move. It s not the cleanest but it s old and you don t have to police your brass if you don t want. Give it a try!

Unbelievably high prices. I honestly thought they had made a mistake on their price tag until I got online and saw everyone else saying the same thing. A gun going everywhere else for 269.00 was listed at 399.00...seriously.

I don't see why this place has so many bad ratings. Went in with a friend to rent a gun at their range, cost was $88. They had a wide variety of pistols to rent, and one ar15. In terms of them selling guns the prices were about steep. Overall great experience, the employees were friendly and welcoming

Dont go to this shop. Prices are way to high 9mm for 40.00. That is outrageous. Plus there is not a place near by to buy ammo. People seemed friendly enough. Although did not tell me wal mart did not sell ammo. Could have saved me the trip. Need to have better prices. Not worth the drive or price.

For the love of God please get a better ventilation system in your "range" (shooting room). Last time my friend and I went we had about 5 guns we brought and after half an hour our lane was so smoked we could barely see or breathe. We could taste the smoke. It was really gross and it's very hazardous to your health.

I really hope nobody buys a gun from a here. Not only is the place run down, and basically a trashy pawn shop, but everything is marked up at LEAST 300% you d find it anywhere else. $900 for a glock 43 is honestly hilarious. Please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for anything to do with firearms.

Its not really a bad gun store, they have a large selection of firearms. I've noticed that their prices tend to be higher than other stores in the metro area. If you're willing to travel 5-10 miles, you can spend a lot less money for the same firearm. Don's indoor firing range is really close to the showroom. If someone is using the range, its really loud in the store itself and sometimes spent casings will roll out onto the floor--watch your step.

NEVER GO HERE, they will take your money and claim you got on denied on your Fed check so they can charge u a restocking fee of 25% of the gun you purchase, they also don t give you YOUR CASH back, they write u a check. That has another Fee to cash. So u lost 125$ after it s all said and done. Don would rollover in his grave

I had a friend in from out of state and decided to take him shooting as we had time to kill. My regular range recently had a fire and was closed for repair. Don's was the closest to where we were at the time, so we decided to give it a try. We were greeted when we walked in and he asked how he could help us. I said I'd like to rent a lane on the range. Price and time were never mentioned, which I felt was odd, but I went with it anyways. He took our ID's and had us sign the waiver. He asked if we needed ammo or brought our own. I told him we were shooting 9mm and needed a couple of boxes. He brought them to the counter and said, "That will be $40 per box." Astonished, I questioned him, "$40 per box?!" He replied, "Yep, that's the going rate." I don't pay $40 per box of 50 rounds of my hollow point carry ammo, let alone FMJ range rounds. Not wanting to disappoint my friend, I bit the bullet (no pun intended) and agreed. We shot for 30 minutes before the range light went out (we just barely burnt through the 100 rounds at that point). I went to settle up at the counter and range time for 30 minutes was $24.50. That's almost a dollar per minute at an unheated indoor range. I'll never be back to Don's. The funny part about the whole experience is that I remember seeing his commercials growing up, "I don't like to make money, I just love to sell guns." Nothing could be further from the truth! Stay away!

Worst gun shop not only in Indiana but in the four states that surround us. Highest prices, shadiest clientele, and the owner is constantly on local news spouting anti-2A rhetoric (seriously... )

Bargain Bin AR s for $1500 Springfield Hellcats for $800 Chinese pocketknives for $30 Magpul PMags for $60. Holy cow guys! My wife and I stopped by Don's guns. Which we know very little about. When we walked in we were welcomed. In the short time we were there we were impressed with the amount of attention we were given with all the questions we had. We are couple rookies but we were treated with respect and we never felt that we were interfering, wasting anyone's time or being a pain. Thank you for the experience and knowledge you shared. It made a difference for us and we appreciate you!

Great gun store with very knowledgable people. Glad to see it's still around even after Don's death. I'm glad you guys allow rapid fire and for people to use their guns the way they were made to be used.

Very extremely disappointed when the door says closes at 10pm on a saturday, the phone line says closes at 10pm, even the website says closes at 10pm. I get there at 920pm and locked up tighter than fort knox. No lights on, doors locked, and not a car in sight. Very unhappy when i get there from the southwest side of indy and travel all the way over there. Won't happen agaun!

Unfortunately i didnt do my research on the price of a firearm, but i purchase a Glock 41 gen 4 for $963.89 when i could have got the same gun for $780 or less. I learned my lesson on 10.27.19. Overall i love my G41aka Leon S Kennedy, but the price was not cool at all. The first & last time i will do business with this Facility. Do yall research (homework) first trust me.

I was made to feel belittled and was sent away to do reasearch because I didn t know what brand or caliber of gun I wanted. The young man that was supposed to assist me was rude and smug. I drove to shoot point blank greenwood and bought my first gun. Service was remarkable. I gave them 5 stars shout out to Mark Lewis at point blank greenwood.

If i could give less i would. The prices, on everything is extremely high. Cheap after market mags that cost $20 are $60 there. A 50 count of 45 cal regular planking amo cost $50 bucks plus tax, Literally! My Glock 26 was $530 at Plainfield shooting supplies, same at indy trading post. But at Don's, IT WAS $800 PLUS TAX!!! I DNT RECOMMEND SHOPPING HERE TO ANYONE! Stay far away!

Had a decent time at Don's guns the other day for some range time. No wait to get on the range. The prices for new guns seems a bit inflated. Used guns were priced what i would call correctly. Wasn't impressed or turned off by this place.

If you looking for a gun shop that will take advantage of you look no further, Don's Guns is the place to be. If your looking for a shop to show off how much money you are willing to spend on a entry/midlevel gun Don's guns is the place to be. If you are too lazy to do any research for reasonably priced firearms just go to Don's Guns. This gun store preys on people who either don't know any better, or are too lazy to do any research. Be prepared to pay almost double for a gun than what it is actually worth. I visited Don's guns because of all the remarks regarding their prices...I went to see for myself...and to my surprise the remarks were not exaggerated in the slightest. If the high prices were not enough to make my mind uneasy, it was the glares I received from their staff. The man followed me around the store and acted like I was clearly ruining his day. I decided to ask him a question about one of the guns, and his only response was "because it just is..." I asked him why the prices were so high,(knowing well that every other gun shop in Indiana has cheaper prices) and his response was "Our prices are fair, you probably shouldn't be in here if you can't afford any of these". I looked at him and said "yeah your right" Ill take my business elsewhere. They were selling ruger LCPs for 700 and Glocks for 800, Beretta for 980 and they had a "used" colt defender 1911 for 2k.....

I went in to sell my Taurus 9mm pt 92 afs because I was wanting to use that credit to buy 2 smaller guns for my girlfriend an I the older mean lady refused to give me a price and demanded me to tell her what I wanted for my gun, the whole time she was confrontational so we never got down to business, I never got an offer on my weapon. Also My phone rang, I answered and immediately asked if I could call that person back and the lady scream at me and ask me if I could read, with me being a first timer in Dons it was a Awful Experience and I will Not be sending ANY business Their way. I can not believe a Business can be successful treating people this way, I felt like I was treated like a criminal

It was a great place with respectful employees. The problem is their pricing is though the roof! Couldn't find a pistol under $500. Not even those bersa PPK knock-offs.Just saw one new for $380 elsewhere. Their shop? Brace yourself... $500. All assault rifles were $3000 and up. What?!?!?!? I was JUST in Virginia beach (Navy vet) and assault rifles were as low as $800! But their bottom of the barrel model was $3000! No was jose! Edit: just noticed I gave this place five stars when I meant to give it two

Employees spent time over multiple visits to review options. Explained tight market situation for away and limited selection of firearms, but no-pressure in sales tactics. Kept trying work out a best available solutions for my needs. Uniformly polite to all customers of every ethnicity. Great shop, great employees. i can't explain the incongruity with other reviews. The selection was limited, but it is the time of COVID.

NICE TRY! Lucky i m not dumb. I was rolling though indy to denver looking for a specific item. I called several places and they said they had the mag i wanted. I took the time to stop and went way out of my way. I got there i he handed me the mag and i could tell through sealed package it was not a capacity I wanted it wasent long enough. i asked twice if it was and then he admits is not what i wanted. Lies on the phone, lies to my face thinking i m stupid. Then when i told him i called and went 60 miles out of my way he tells me i m a liar , and called 10 minutes ago. but i had called 45 minutes prior. Plus the mag he was trying to sell me for $60 is cheap surplus that should cost $20 ANY WHERE ELSE in the world. He is your average con artist with a store. Don t go to this dirty little hole in the wall.

Wish I'd read the reviews before driving here. They're charging $1 per round for FMJ. The clerk said "we're not Wal Mart, we don't buy it by the truckload." My LGS doesn't buy it by the truckload and they don't charge 3x the market price. Walked right out. Google "Don's Guns" or "Don Davis" and read some of the results. It's no surprise he's closed all but one of his stores, although supposedly it's not because of bad business practices but because people are routinely shot in his stores. The commercials I've watched are a riot. Too funny.

Horrible prices. 50$ for ammo that cost 25$ anywhere else. Sketchy place as well. As I stood and waited I seen 4 ppl walk in with anything from rifles to handguns that were not in any type of holster and being waved around. What legit business allows this

Don s guns is greatest gun shop on the planet. The prices are the best they let you test fire your weapon before you buy. Don s let you put them in layaway you can come back and fire it. If you are not satisfied you can get a different weapon.

Unbelievably overpriced. 775 for a Glock that is 599 (tops) anywhere else. No wonder I was the only person in the store at the time. Owners are also shady. The only way they can possibly still be in business is if they're illegally dealing guns.

I have never delt with anyone so rude. I called to inquire about a handgun. The woman told me they did in fact have the one I was looking for. I asked her what the price was and she yelled at me and went off on me. She told me I needed to listen more attentively to the message on their answering message. It states that they won't discuss prices FOR GUNS YOU SELL THEM over the phone. I want selling a gun, I wanted to buy one. She refused to tell me how much they were selling it for, yelled at me and hung up. I was shocked. I was not rude, I never raised my voice, I was completely taken by surprise. I will never do business with a company that treats customers so badly. I have heard many bad stories about this place. I now believe them to be true. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.
