Came to La Crosse to pick up my vehicle that my son had used to move himself into his house near campus. The vehicle was parked behind his house where the maintenance supervisor of the property management company indicated they could park. Late Saturday evening, my son looked out and the car was gone. A sign was posted three properties over with Don's Towing listed, so he called to find out that he had been towed, and that he could pick up the vehicle on Sunday between 9am and 1pm. We've straightened out things with the property management company, and will be reimbursed for the towing charge from them, but what hasn't been rectified is the damage done to my vehicle by Don's Towing. Before I paid I insisted that I inspect the vehicle, as my BMW 328xi has low ground clearance, and the manufacturer's recommendation is that this all wheel drive vehicle be flatbed towed, or towed from the front with a dolly on the rear wheels. My vehicle was towed from the rear with the front dolly'd. The lower edge of the bumper is scuffed, which is the damage I was initially concerned with. They took photos and told me to call Steve, their towing Manager, during the week. I called on Tuesday September 25th and he said that he needed to see the car, not the pictures the owner indicated their employee take. I live in the Appleton area and do not plan to be back in La Crosse for Months. Since driving the vehicle back to Appleton, I have a noise from the suspension that wasn't there before. Towing a Multi-Link rear suspension vehicle from the rear is NOT recommended, and I now have another problem to diagnose and repair.
And I an sure the bumper cover wasn't damaged as I personally had replaced the bumper in July, and again inspected it in August when I replaced the right front air duct that cools the brakes, as I had to r&r the bumper to install. My question is why din't they tow the second vehicle that was parked back there? and in the picture, you will see the property management company parked under Don's towing sign, as well as a city of La Crosse Police car, and I'll bet they have never been towed! I will be looking into my options to recuperate for damages, as well as investigate with the city if there is proper permitting for the sign advertising Don's towing posted three properties away.

Great business and great mechanics. We always take our vehicles there for service, and used them to patrol all the apartment building lots we managed. I worked in property management many years in La Crosse and it is really too bad these guys at Don's have to deal with these 1 star reviews. Bottom line is that most of these 1 star reviews are from College kids that got their car towed by not paying attention to parking in "permit only" lots. Shocker, I know. You will be further shocked to know 95% of these issues happened on a Friday or Saturday night, and it was never the actual residents who got towed. I guess that's the price you pay when you are easily the most used towing service in the area. I give Don's Towing 5 stars!

Don s has very poor customer service. They are not truthful and they are not cooperative. I would not recommend this company to anyone. As you can see in the other reviews, explaining the scenario does not do any good. They defend their actions and policies but it holds no worth. All I will leave here is do not use this company for any reason. Terrible.
Oh, and they ONLY take cash...hmmmmmm

You will see below that this company stated that they sent me the photos of my daughter s parking error. This is false. Neither my daughter or myself received any photos, so again, their credibility is bad. I cannot use the word lied because they came back and said to me maybe you should ask your daughter who lied in this situation. These people are not trustworthy at all. I also explained to them that the landlord gave the tenants permission to park where her car was parked. Their response was I m sure the landlord did not give them permission to park in an entryway to the lot.
***she was not parked in an entryway to the lot***
But this is their claim, and again, no pics to prove this statement. This company sucks. Period.

I call Don's towing about 7 p.m. on a Friday night to have a vehicle towed a 9 a.m. Saturday morning. I gave all the information to Don's dispatch and she said it would be no problem to tow the vehicle at 9 a.m. I get a call from Don's they can not tow the vehicle because the road were not plowed and it was slippery. I asked when they could tow the vehicle and the dispatch said later in the next around Thursday.or Friday I guess this tow company don't go out if it snows overnight.

Good day folks. Google is a popular company and I am grateful to be allowed to comment on this business in this way. Please do not use Don's Towing in La Crosse. As you can see from other reviews Don's towing knows nothing about honesty or customer service. When you're treated poorly as my I was, reviews allow us to voice our experience so others can see the truth. I wish no one be treated the way Don's treated me during the aftermath of my step-son's tow. As a consequence to Don's, people see these posts and it drives away business, which I'm sure is frustrating for them. However, this is what makes this country great, a chance to have a voice. Amanda, the owner, a suggestion would be to start treating others as you want to be treated. Every negative post on here is followed with a reply from Amanda trying to vilify the customer or explain the poor actions exhibited by the business. Please just stop replying this way. You aren't remedying any of the problems customers are complaining about. Until you start attempting to make right what honest people complain to you about your practices, my hope is that your business experiences less customers due to these reviews. I want no one to have an experience as poorly as you treated us. Like others on here, I warned them I would post these truths on online review boards. They don't care. They had a chance to make things right but declined to do so. Potential future customers, use these reviews as your decision maker! Thanks google users for reading!!!!

Awful experience! My husband got in an argument with the guy that picked up his car. I calmly called the guy back and explained my husband has anxiety and apologized. The guy then made a hand sized dent in my husband's car prior to taking pictures of it. Now we have no proof but will be talking to an attorney.
Please don't trust these people with your vehicle.

On January 22nd, my elderly friend experienced battery problems coming off the Blue Bridge heading towards La Crescent. Her battery died right at the base of the bridge and every light on the car went out. She was stranded in the dark/cold in a relatively dangerous location, traffic-wise. The tow driver responded very quickly to her call. He sat with her, had pleasant conversation and helped calm her frazzled nerves until I could get there. We really appreciated his patience and kindness. Thank you.

We accidentally locked our toddler in our vehicle. We called AAA and got Don s Towing. Our tow truck driver called extremely fast to give us an update. Thankfully he was close and arrived within just a few minutes. He got the door unlocked for us very quickly so we could get our frightened little guy out of there. We are so grateful, especially this worried mom! As I wrote this review, I am sorry I couldn t remember his name!! He was so polite and understanding! We cannot thank Don s enough!
