Don's Garden Shop Review

I just got 1.5 cubic yards of their raised garden bed mix delivered and I couldn't be happier. The soil is excellent, delivery was very convenient, and staff was very helpful every step of the way. Will definitely use Don's again!

Kim was very knowledgeable and happy to help me learn about using the equipment I bought from them as well as answer all my random questions and give advice. I'll definitely go there again!

I gave it 2 stars because the lady that s on the trailer where you pay for rock is so unprofessional. The way she speaks to people is just rude. They need to retire her or place her in a different area where she does not have to deal with people.

I called them to put in a order for some dirt, and they were very prompt with their delivery. Everyone was very polite, and their prices are very reasonable.

Lots of neat statues and decorations for the garden. I came for pave stones that was advertised online. Unfortunately when I got there I found out they were clearance and they didn't have enough for my job. But they did have a lot of other stone work that is worth taking a look at.

I ordered 3 yards of garden mix compost to till into my poor soil. It was delivered by Don's, the truck driver dumped it all on a tarp in my driveway. The compost was excellent quality, no rocks, almost no plastic (a few very small pieces of old landscape plastic, maybe 4 pieces in 3000 lbs of compost) and only found a couple pieces of twigs that were not fully composted. The guy in the office who helped me was helpful and knowledgeable, driver was friendly and professional. Look forward to going back for future landscaping needs

The woman at the sales/recycling office was just utterly rude. Prices were to high. Horrible customer service.

Cost me a ten k job do to not following simple instructions . Also dumped rock in drive way right after I told them not to . Owner is rude and will do nothing about this .

Even for small jobs, this place is amazing! They are so easy to order from, always on time, and the delivery drivers are very skilled at putting your order precisely where you need it. The personnel are both professional and friendly, and after multiple deliveries, they ve ALWAYS delivered in the time window scheduled.
I highly recommend this company for all your landscaping needs!!

I moved into a new house and had Don's deliver a large load of compost for my garden. It was delivered within a couple of hours. Great service. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone.

We went to Don's looking to make a small purchase of rock. We dealt with Sherry in the Blue Shed. She was rude and very unhelpful. We needed some professional help. I had some measurements and even pictures to help, but she was not interested in helping. She was just impatient to get numbers to plug into the computer. So, we ended up purchasing 1600 pounds of one rock and 200 pounds of rose quartz (the only real reason for being there) plus 3 bales of straw. The delivery charge was more than the cost of the rock. We left with the straw in our car. The next day 1600 pounds of rock arrived AND 3 bales of straw, but NO rose quartz. After talking to Don, we found out Sherry has left the rose quartz off, Don said he would deliver it and we would pay then ($12.75). Then we get a call from Sherry questioning us about the rose quartz. She was still rude. I called Don. He backed out of the delivery after Sherry lied about our visit.

We will never do business with Don's Garden Shop again.

I am a first time customer and really had a great delivery experience. The woman that helped me over the phone to order 15 yards of mulch was seriously great! She was very helpful and quick and was happy to take payment over the phone, which was my preference. Really awesome customer service that I usually don't experience on a phone call to any business! I was extremely impressed with our delivery gal too. She was able to very carefully back a huge truck up to our house in a narrow alley off a busy downtown street. The product was piled cleanly onto my driveway and she made sure it was where I wanted it (since it was quite a pile!) The whole process was so easy and efficient, but what stood out was that the employees that helped actually cared that I was getting exactly what I needed. Thanks Don's, I'll surely be back!

Sherry is extremely rude!! I will never be back and DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!

I had no issues with the product I received and have never discussed anything with you my problem and by the looks of it many other customers problem is with your employee Sherry she is the reason I am upset with your business!

We've used Don's for several years for garden soil, mulch, and vermiculture supplies. I have chosen to no longer do business with Don's after a situation I encountered a few days ago. A truck driver in a Don's Landscaping semi-truck (dump truck) was travelling approx. 75 miles per hour on Milton Proby. He was passing cars in the right lane and cut off 3 cars in order to merge onto S. Academy. He then proceeded to weave in and out of busy traffic at 8:30am. He almost caused numerous accidents. If that wasn't enough, he blew right through a red light. I can't support a company that has such careless drivers. I had my baby in the car and he came zooming up behind me, scaring me, and MANY others half-to-death. Working on our garden and yard the past few weeks we've decided to order online and shop at Lowe's which isn't as high quality or price, but like I said I just can't support Don's anymore...

Very friendly and was very helpful. We got what we needed.

Don's by far is one of the best nursery in the Springs area. Off of Platte Ave and easy access. My husband and I bought fertilizer and the staff we're very knowledgeable about education me with the different kind. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

They have great looking flowers, great prices, love their tri-mix, and they treat you like a friend

I love Don's best prices mostly even with most product are competitive with big box stores. There website helps anyone know what the need for the yard. Our yard has been recreated with hard work and Dons great prices.

We went for a small amount of gravel, and only 200 lbs of rose quartz. Paid for delivery the next day. Only the gravel arrived.
Tried to get problem corrected through Don, the owner, he was great, promised delivery of the rose quartz.
Then Sherry, the Salesperson who did a bad job originally, interfered, lied. Long story short, Don reneged on his word.
Our business was only a few dollars, but I'll long remember the rude, unprofessional service.

Came here today, husband and I are very satisfied. Thanks to Paula for being so patience answering a lot of questions regarding lawn and garden, learned a lot in a short time. We will be back for lawn and gardening supplies that we need in the future.

I would advise everyone not to use this company they are a total SCAM! be aware!

Looking for Pond knowledge, Didn't find it at Don's.

Awsome place they have everything you need for your garden. And the staff is friendly and knolagable about there products and how to apply them.

Over priced compared to competition and lacks knowledge about product

I have been a loyal customer of Don s for the past two years. I dump branches at least twice a week from my landscaping and tree removal company. A few weeks back I was notified upon dumping that the price for branch dumping was raised from $6 to $12 per cubic yard. Did not bother me at the time until I arrived today to dump a load of branches. I have never paid more than $60 to dump large amounts of branches. Today I was charged $120. As I said I have been a loyal customer of Don s for a few years. That ends today. Pulling out of their yard I called Rocky Top and discovered that they charge a flat rate of $20 for branches. Don s you will lose lots of loyal customers for overcharging!

Went there four times spent over 300.00 on rock and top soil. Went back and they told me my bank cacd was no good had them run it again and they said insufficient funds. so I called my bank and the bank said I had plenty of money I asked the employee to run my card again but they would not so had to go some were else and had no problems with my card . Sorry but haven't been back since then

Helpful + knowledgeable staff. Terrific prices on materials. Love that you can buy as much or as little as you need. Don makes the BEST dirt for this dry climate. I only use Don's mixes for my beds.

Don's is a beyond outstanding shop. I went this morning to order some dirt for my yard(which they managed to deliver same day), and the second I walked into the office I was treated like family. My 5 year old daughter was with me who loves gardening and all things outdoors she was enthralled, and the staff treated her like gold. I had searched online and was set on buying one type of dirt when the lady helping me asked how I planned on using said dirt, I told her my plan and not only did she take the time to break down each type of dirt they had but also wound up talking me into something 4 dollars cheaper per yard than what I had planned on, who does that in this day and age?!? Someone who cares about repeat business and customer satisfaction that's who. Serious kudos on that. Then after I was done with my purchases I needed to look at some paver type options for something my wife and I had in mind, after I saw what I wanted they took the time to explain prices best way to install and what materials I would need. All the while letting my daughter play and be a child. Don's has my business 100% for yard needs here on out!

Don H. talked me out of a bad idea back when this region was in a drought. Whew. Don's Pasture Grass is much easier to get started than Native Grass that mixes Buffalo & Blue Gamma. Would a Big Box store know that? Or care?

His crew has been trained to have an attitude that "the customer is always right".

And they hand out some of the better pens you can get for the asking.

Great place to find everything you need for building a garden. They delivered 16,000 lbs of compost to us, way outside of town (though the delivery charge was a little steep, but we expected that), worked around our schedule, were prompt and courteous.
A good experience all around.

I bought Water Fountain $631.00 on July 13th,
I asked Owner Don's twice to change the parts inside, but the owner Don's said that it was new. After checking that it was broken drain pipes inside the water fountain at my house in the garden during install.
I stopped working and ungently went to a hardware store to buy a new pipe ($17.00), but also found that it was forcibly fitted without a clamp connecting the pipe.
On that day, I couldn't install the water fountain, so I was upset because 60 dollars was paid to the two workers without install finished.

Next day On July 14, I talked to the owner Don's.on the phone I explanded and promised to go on the next day at am10:30, and visited on the 15th, but the owner Don's did not meet while doing other things, Don's sent me unkwon other employees and did some clamps and hoses. I found it in the warehouse.Which never gave to me.missed parts.
water fountain does not have any user guide book and parts.
because, It is old used one.
and I ONLY asked for a refund of the $17 of the part I bought,
but when emproyees refused, I was angry that he would give it as Store credit. I do not need store credit.
Finding owner Don's who doesn't meet, and I explaining it to him again..
drain pipes broken. pipes does not match someone connected wrong size.missed parts and missed parts. it was forcibly fitted without a clamp connecting the pipe.also i showed him "YOU TUBE " same water fountain insallation video and who posted showing what do i need parts.after he watched.
Still he without listening what i am saying.
Don's refuse refund $17.00 .
Don's said that "why did not you come that day'?
that day? That day I was insallation with two workers at 6pm ,25 mile from he's place.
after dispute...(not funny .. it was very hot day.)
Finally, Don's gave me $17.00 I felt bad because the owner was giving me $17.00 dollars as if it was a match for the beggar after explain three times.and spend times around 1 hour again at out door of the hot day.
Why do their fault and wrong make customer hard times and money loss and stingy with a small refund?
It is a shame and pathetic that there is such a place that is not responsible after these lies and transactions.
Nothing apologizes to me for what they did wrong, he lie with the very old used water fountain as a new one, all parts bad conditions.and the ignorant . who refuses to ask for a small amount refund and asks for a broken part.
Bad business company and shame with he's name.
