We required help with our Knaus motorhome 12v system had gone, no light or heat. This dealer being Knaus agents were extremely helpful, diagnosed fault, ordered new part from Knaus which was delivered next day. First class service. Fitted part,everything turned to normal, so now we can be on our merry way to Spain. Thank you so much to all staff concerned, could not have asked for any better attention.

We recently purchased a new Autotrail motorhome and would like to highlight the excellent and very friendly service that we received throughout. Claire is a star and despite several changes of plan by us, nothing was too much trouble for her. Despatch was thorough, efficient and went very smoothly. We've just returned from our first weekend away and we really are so pleased with our purchase we felt compelled to give Don Amott and their excellent staff a five star review. Great selection but all the caravans are locked.It makes it difficult to have a quick look around at lay outs and styles. All keys have to be collected or bought by a member of the sales team.

The mega store was not really as big as we were expecting

Brilliant service from Ben at Don Amott. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and we will certainly deal with him again, highly recommend!

Well would have given it 5 star but we had one holiday for a week and on the way back all the control whent out no speed o nothing. and we had to wait a month before we picked it up so that they could service it well they didn't do a very good job.

This company saved our annual holiday to Spain by providing unbeatable service when our Motor home developed a fault in the 12 volt system which meant NO heating or lighting, among other things ! We drove in off the street and the guys just got stuck in. Diagnosed quickly and onto the Knaus factory by phone. Parts were available and they had them sent from Germany overnight special delivery. The problem was in one of two possible electronic panels. Their techie took a stab at which part to fit 1st. The van's main control panel, and he got it right 1st time. Advise was then to stay with them (again) overnight to fully test the new unit. Great advise and all was (and still is) perfect. We were back on for our Spanish trip.. I can't recommend Amott's highly enough. We will now never go anywhere else. Amazing service. Many thanks again lads. Well done and big thanks also to Knaus service like that is difficult to beat.

The staff are very helpful and they stock a good range of Motorhome, caravan and camping related accessories as well as the caravans and Motorhomes themselves. We visit frequently as it is our first choice of shop for accessories.

I USED TO KEEP MY MOTORHOME HERE, WHICH I ALSO PURCHASED FROM THEM,
Cost over 22,000 POUNDS,paid also rent each year to keep it there,after problems with the gate lock on site,a female member of staff was very rude,and i told her i will put my van somewhere else ,she replied okay we have a waiting list anyway!!!
After i complained i was told a specialist company will email me to sort out my complaint,4 weeks later no one has contacted me... do not give them your hard earned cash ,take your money somewhere else ,wish i did .

Friendly and helpful staff in the shop. Very good breakfast in the cafe, well worth a visit.

A little steep on some of their prices, but have a great selection of caravan, motor homes and accessories! If you need something you'll likely find it there.

Nice little cafe on site too, food and drink on offer.

We had our motorhome from here great service and after service would recommend.

Not a bad shop, decent selection of stuff, not a massive choice, but handy being local.

Warranty work again, might not be their fault but I seem to have to keep going back! Don't carry spares so after diagnosis have to keep going back, then they find something else and off we go, back again. Generally finish up there for 4 to 5 hours.

Just bought our second motorhome from don amotts, found these guys very friendly & helpful, any problems we had was always dealt with promptly. First class service as always.

Don Amity at leisure World is fantastic. Love looking around the used caravans and motorhomes on site. Bought lots for our next holiday in our lovely Swift Caravan today. Would rate them as 8 out of 10.

No After in Sales.
They may pick you up at the airport and promise you the world, however once the ink is dry it's another story.
Recently bought a camper van from them. On arriving home I noticed that there were a few defects on the roof paintwork that I had not noticed. Contacted them and pretty much ignored.
A couolw of weeks later the van developed an engine problem. It's 18 months old. Turns out the van needs a new engine. Big delay in getting engine results in possibly missing booked holiday. Contacted "Don" who to see if they could be of assistance to help me get on holiday as the van was well within warranty. Let's just say the customer service was lacking to non existent. Sent an email on their site complaining of poor after sales and 10 days later no reply. Looks like I will not be able to go on my holiday that was the sole reason for buying the van and the Don... he could not give one solitary..:. thought.
So buy from them if you want but don't expect any aftersales.

Site also has service area for habitation check, damp check etc..

Great range of camper vans if that's what your after and shop well stocked with small goods. I was after a sink unit and cooker, unfortunately these were only available through catalogue and non in stock.

Not many caravan s mostly campervans now and no trailer tents at all, a little disappointed

Travelled a round trip of over 80 miles to this place to find all motorhomes locked as previous reviewers have stated. We were prepared to bare with this inconvenience but when approached by a very rude and dismissive lady member of staff I More

Picked up our new motorhome last Saturday.
Absolutely delighted with the whole process. No pushy sales, Simon left us to view the unit at our leisure.
Very friendly, professional staff, even managed to meet the boss himself, Don who my wife Christine has forgiven for his hopefully joke comments about Yorkshire folk!!
On returning home one small issue was dealt with promptly and satisfactorily by Ben, and we would strongly recommend them.

I'm not one for leaving bad reviews - i'd rather just scroll on by. However, I think the staff at Don Amott are a special case, and as such deserve the full treatment. It's a long review, but if you're thinking of taking your caravan for service, it will be time well spent.

I booked our caravan in for a service about six weeks ago. We use it four or five times a year for accommodation at agricultural shows, and the season starts soon. I chose the date to coincide both with the season, and so it would be ready for my 15 year old and his friends to have a planned sleepover on Saturday night.

At the appointed time, we dropped the caravan off, along with a list of small issues to be fixed. Broken door latch, stuck fly screen and so on. Nothing too dramatic. My husband was told that they were 'running a week or so behind' and that, in the words of Captain Scott, it may be some time. Not being in charge of the social diary, he mistakenly said it was OK. As the person in charge of all events, social or otherwise, I called later that afternoon and spoke to a member of staff, who said he would make sure it was ready to collect on Saturday morning. Yay! Everyone was happy.

On Saturday morning I phoned to find out what time to collect to be told that it wouldn't be ready until next week.

I was called by the manager of the (lack of) customer care department on Monday lunchtime. He showed no inclination to listen, was intent on interrupting and made many excuses. For example, we weren't called to advise us that they were running behind schedule because they had an incorrect phone number. It appears that when they took my number, they transposed two digits, which was our fault because we didn't point out to them that it was incorrect. He was rude, abrasive, uncooperative and offered a level of service which is best described as appalling.



WE KNOW THEY NEED DOING, THAT'S WHY WE BROUGHT THE CARAVAN TO YOU!!!

The same manager was hostile, and offensive, and in the words of my husband, 'just angling for a verbal confrontation'. Which he got.

Never has a one star review been more deserved. If there was an option for no stars, I'd have taken it.

Can't comment on the motorhome sales side (although they do have quite a good choice it would appear) but the accessories store is pretty well stocked with all the main items you'd expect but also a lot of "bitty" items like door handles, catches, repair parts etc.

If you try to navigate here by SatNav you may have problems. The correct address is Egginton Road but both of my SatNavs show it as Eggington Road with an extra "g". The village of Egginton is also shown on some local road signs as Eggington, so presumably the local council are as confused as everyone else!

Customer service is Very Good we are always looked after

Excellent Service.
We've just sold them our Swift Conqueror due to relocating to France. The whole process was open and efficient and we got a very good price for the caravan. The staff were professional and friendly from start to finish, our thanks to Neil and everyone back at the base. A great experience!

Super place, lots of choice and super helpful people

These are nice people. The sales team are not "pushy" and, refreshingly, appear determined to meet the customer's requirements. Excellent selection of new and used motorhomes and caravans. The accessories shop is well stocked and there are servicing and repair facilities on site. Believe that secure storage is also available.

Bought a second had bailey unicorn cordoba caravan pat on sales was fabulous and tom and James were brilliant showing us round the van very helpful we thought we were picking it up in sep but they rang us and we picked it up in aug brilliant service also we forgot our towing electric adaptor so they had one for us to borrow .all round a fantastic place to buy acaravan thankyou don amott caravans and motorhomes derby .nick and Jane

Just purchased an Auto Trail V Line from Don Amott. Excellent service from Claire in Sales and Arron in handover. Would highly recommend, they made sure we were happy with the vehicle and no pressure / time constraints. Many thanks.

I went with the intention of buying a new motorhome. The gentleman showed us 2 used vehicles then took us into the showroom. I saw a Knaus motor home which would have been suitable but the man did not seem interested in selling. I asked about terms because my last one I paid for in cash but he treated me as a time waster. Well I went on to another dealership and bought myself a Frankia and have taken delivery of it. I was not happy with the salesman because all he was concerned with was it would be Christmas soon and he could not sell me a van before Christmas.

The name Don Amott leisure is possibly a bit misleading they sell camper vans of all shapes and sizes and only a few second hand caravans. The selection of the camper vans is the biggest I've seen, if I was looking for one its the first place I'd go. Sorry but tats all I can say about Don Amott.

Massive selection and came for a look as seriously considering selling our Lunar caravan and purchasing a Motorhome. However the salesman was more keen on telling us that caravans are a declining market and that our Lunar warranty is useless. Not a way to make a sale and make us want to have any dealings with this place. Poor customer service.

Large site friendly staff recommend a visit to the cafe excellent home cooked food very reasonable prices.

Called in on Tuesday to view the Knaus motorhomes.The show room was well laid out with loads of room to see all the different models on offer.We spoke to a gentleman there who was extremely knowledgeable and gave us some really useful More

It's OK would be better if the caravan's where open so you can view each one without having to find a salesperson all the time. I've been to better dealership's.

Absolutely fantastic to deal with, I picked up my new Motor home, from Don Amott on 4 th June 19 after only few helpful phone calls to Claire, there sales exec, fantastic personality, who came and picked me up from my hotel in morning( I had only travelled 500 miles and 2 flights to get there) once there Aaron ? gave me a full and thorough run down on workings of MH, then over to accessories outlet where I met with the bubbly Gemma forfew odds and ends to get me started, Very Professional Outfit to Deal with, and would do so again...Reg.

Thought the staff were very knowledgeable about motor homing. Able to discuss technical issues and also give information about the various makes. Would recommend to anyone who is thinking of buying a motor home.

Back just recently for a part to be fixed and solar panel and bike rack to be fitted, again friendly, good service.
