Looks small and not so pretty from the outside, but inside it is actually quite modern, large yet still cosy. The atrium with glassed roof in the middle is very nice, with study places, free WiFi, abundant sockets and good coffee.

Nice library, pleasant environment.

Nice library, pleasant environment.

What is unfortunate is that the coffee is so expensive, the best thing would be if you had the choice to have a cup of vending machine coffee, or do luxury once, but now only the last can ..

In the old location you were provided with some change, more people complain about this, it is nice if it is affordable for everyone.

In addition, somewhat longer opening hours / evenings / Sundays would be nice.
But despite the above, it is already a great place!

Very nice building with light, open spaces and cozy corners where you can work, study or read. Nice that so many different people come together. I think it is a big plus that there are also tables at standing height, and the coffee is tasty. I think the only downside is that music is always on ... I can be quiet in the library!

I would give a zero to few of those librarians working there, regarding to their rude behavior!
Didn't you study how to treat people at schools or at least at your homes!

Other than that I would give a four for the place, it is spacious and good for reading.
Yet there are not that much of books to choose from.

Nice renovation of the library. It's such a pity that they decided not to have a silent area. Their answer via email was that they didn't want "too many students", giving the idea that people who want to read in silence are the plague or something. Because of that now I study at TU Delft, where for 30 euros per year I have access to a quiet place to read, books, internet and friendly staff.

One of the nicest places in Delft. You can enjoy reading some novel, playing music or sitting and work with your own laptop while drinking good coffee. The bar offers good sandwiches, too. I love being there in the evenings (it's open until 11 pm during the week) and relax. It's a pity that the opening hours during the weekend are shorter.

Feels so cozy here! They also have a nice cafe. I used to come before they renovated, but when I did there were few places to charge your stuff. Hopefully they installed new sockets. Also would be nice if it closed later than 6pm...

Tried to print something - not working, I sit at the pc for half an hour can't open a tab normally, even the people who work there can't. I really wasted my money waiting there for half an hour for 2 printed sheets: 1 empty with a star on it (?) And one where the size of what I wanted to print is reduced by about 5x (unreadable). Then of course there was no balance because a job of 5 minutes took 6 times as long and also unnecessarily printed out an empty page. Really really bad! i will never come here again! This doesn't even deserve one star.

Can management designate a quiet area for studying/working please ????? It used to be so great studying by the window before the change. Now it s like the library only caters to needs of children and senior citizens. What about students who are the future ?

Nice library, have been there since I was a kid. After the renovation, I think it is very unfortunate that there are no more quiet spaces to study ... when I am in the library it is often a bit too restless for that. However, that was well arranged before and during the renovation. A separate room to study would therefore be nice.

Great local library. The selection of books is not extremly large, but you can easily order books from other libraries (costs like 1 or 2 euros) if they are not available in DOK. The only annoyance is the amount of running children and crying babies.

It is a beautiful space with many plants and well-arranged where you need to be and where you can find everything. I think the only drawback is that there are few sockets at the places where you can study.

For my work I travel the world to review all libraries. DOK goes all the way across the border when it comes to meeting the basic needs of the visitors. For years they have been busy renovating the property. In order to study, one had to lock oneself in a small smelly cubicle with a professor from the gay scene who is systematically looking for erotic scenes on his time machine.

Nowadays, DOK is a mix of a singing choir, children's playground, and catering industry that does not fulfill the primary function of a library. In addition, the lack of workplaces is still a current problem. There are only a few places where one can charge his Personal Desktop. Finally, one has to take care of his own internet provision as the WIFI is a structural problem.

All in all, DOK is not recommended for people who want to make a serious contribution to knowledge for society. DOK is the place where you want to go to limit your personal developments.

Greetings Analdo Sumeet.

The library is run as a company rather than an institution that provides citizens with information (a human right according to the UN).

Term of notice, reminder costs, threatening with collection ... just like shady websites and telecom companies.

About DOK, Library Concept Center

DOK, Library Concept Center: A Hub of Knowledge and Culture

DOK Delft is a public library located in the heart of Delft, Netherlands. With over 450,000 visitors per year, it is not only the largest cultural institution in the city but also a hub of knowledge and culture. The library offers an extensive collection of books, magazines, newspapers, music CDs and DVDs for all ages and interests.

The concept behind DOK is to create a space where people can come together to learn, explore and discover new ideas. It's not just about borrowing books; it's about creating an environment that fosters creativity and innovation. The library has been designed with this in mind - from its modern architecture to its innovative services.

One of the unique features of DOK is its "Library at Night" program which allows visitors to access the library after hours. This program has been hugely popular among students who need a quiet place to study or work on group projects.

Apart from traditional book lending services, DOK also offers various digital resources such as e-books and online databases that can be accessed remotely by members. Additionally, they have an extensive collection of audiobooks which are perfect for those who prefer listening over reading.

For children and young adults, there are dedicated sections with age-appropriate books along with interactive learning tools such as puzzles and games that make learning fun. There are also regular storytelling sessions held at the library which encourage children to develop their love for reading from an early age.

DOK also hosts various events throughout the year such as author talks, workshops on writing skills or creative arts like painting or photography. These events provide opportunities for people to connect with each other while exploring new topics or hobbies.

The library has a café where visitors can grab a coffee or snack while enjoying their favorite book or magazine in a cozy atmosphere. The café also serves as a meeting point for groups who want to discuss ideas over coffee.

In conclusion, DOK Library Concept Center is more than just your average public library - it's an innovative space that encourages lifelong learning through its vast collection of resources both physical and digital along with various programs designed for all ages. Whether you're looking for inspiration or simply want some quiet time away from distractions - DOK has something for everyone!
