The process was so easy. Everyone was fantastic and so helpful. Nothing was difficult and the whole experience was stress free. To Kate and the whole team the children are in good hands. Thanks to you all.

I have been at the D.E.C.V for 3 years now from year 10 to 12 and I have very little good things to say about it. First off it is unreasonably hard to contact teachers for questions about the work as different teachers have different work hours and different days of work in the week, so if you really need help with some work well tough luck your teacher isn't in today and won't be until next week, pass the deadline. And this isn't the exception, it's the rule. I have had many times where I needed help with a question and couldn't get contact with a teacher and ether lost marks or got behind in weekly submissions.

The second major problem with this school is it's motto, "flexible learning for everyone" there is nothing flexible about the D.E.C.V. Deadlines are very strict almost to a unreasonable level and you basically have to be dying to get consideration with deadlines, and that isn't an exaggeration ether. I have be bedridden from the flu with medical evidence and not given any leeway, I have had a fever that sent me to the hospital over night (again with a medical certificate as proof) and was given no extension, I have been to the hospital because my neck was dislocated and the teachers basically said that wasn't enough for consideration. The D.E.C.V is anything but flexible.

They don't know how to teach. They don't make your learning experience enjoyable. They expect us to know everything when you are self-teaching yourself. Shocking way to learn any subjects. I don't recommend studying a subject with them, especially math topics.

We are very happy after going over to DECV/VSV 2 years ago from mainstream. The teachers we have had have been very supportive of how we learn and are happy to work with our family to make schooling manageable and re-engage my child.
I was sorry to read some of the other reviews and hope we still have the support at Secondary level that we have received in Primary.
I can only speak from our experience but it's been wonderful being able to touch base with teachers about specifics (we didn't have email or phone contact at our mainstream- had to book times or try and squeeze in a quick chat after school).
If I make contact, I usually hear back from the teacher within 24 hours but have been contacted on the day many times as well. I can see how not getting responses quickly would be frustrating as a secondary student trying to complete work.
I shall put this on my list of questions to ask as we move up through the year levels.
Very happy with the teachers and staff in wellbeing who we have dealt with.
