The Singapore Discovery Centre is one of the most interactive places I've seen to learn about the history of Singapore. Unlike the Former Ford Factory, this would suit the entire family too. There are tons of things to do there, such as catching the latest blockbusters in 3D, taking a tour around SAFTI and so much more! P.S. Singaporeans and PRs enter for free!!

Good place for kids, if they love soldier toy, tanks and helicopter. Went there to check out the place for my son and found out a few thing. 1) Their family package is about SGD 110, for a family of 4. Yet, their movies (as of today 1 july 2017) are the latest despicable me/ pirates of the caribbean, you watch FREE movie whole year everyday! family or alone. That's immediate saving after 3 trips compared to outside. 2) Most exciting everyone must do stuff is the rifle range. Real M16 and SAR 21 shooting gallery, one time per visitor, real recoil. 3) Hidden behind the army center is a few real Tanks, helicopter, vehicles you can touch and photo with, mini SOC course for you kids. (bring mosq repellent) 4) Singaporean goes everywhere FREE! This place is designed for singaporean, foreigner are welcome but needs to pay, even PR. 5) 4D or 5D adventure ride. Again, free if you joined family annual package. It's not a top of the list visiting place, but if you run out of things to do in the WEST, visit it like a park, very relaxing place if not crowded.
Rather boring. Too far & out of the way to visit. Can watch a movie but that is hardly motivation to go there. Sometimes there are FOC short films. There is a free bus tour of SAFTI for locals. Not sure whether if foreigners need to pay.
Suitable for school excursions with transport provided. Also for family with young children to spend a quiet weekend.
The Army museum is just next to the SDC but now closed for review until further notice.
Nice and quiet place to visit over the weekend to avoid crowd. The place is quite educational though so elder kids above primary will find it more fund here. If you are SG citizen or PR it's free for general admission.
Been years since I was last here. Nothing has changed much. The one thing new for me is the SAFTI bus tour, a 20 mins bus tour around the Singapore Arm Forces Training Institute (SAFTI), no photos allowed in the training area though.
It's a good place to learn about the birth of the Singapore Arm Forces. Visit only if you have time to spare while in Singapore. After visiting Singapore Discovery Centre. You can head towards Jurong Point for shopping and food.
It's a good experiential tour for me to know more about Singapore. There are any interactive stations to engage the young children, playing games while learning about Singapore. I'll come back with my family soon.
Beautiful place with seating area next to the lake/ pond. It is a quiet and uncrowded place to work or study, has free WiFi for public access. Food at canteen is less than desirable, otherwise it'd be 5 stars
I happened to find it in a guidebook and it was very attractive to me who loves military. I was able to shoot with an assault machine gun adopted by the Singapore Armed Forces that was made exactly like the real thing. I think military enthusiasts should go because it is heavy and has recoil. I felt a little lonely. I think it's a fairly minor facility.
Great place to learn of Singapore's defence and military history. Nice 3d theatre to entertain the kids and adults. However, the place lacked commercial entities, doesn't attract crowds. Wondered how much tax payers money is used annually to fund its operations.
Nice place but could be better with better innovation n creativity. Waiting for the Army Museum beside to rejunvenate. Hope to have more excitement. Use to go there to bring the kids to play M16 n SAR21 electronic range "live" firing. Nice place for 3D movies too. If can take the SAFTI bus tour. Feel the life our Military Insitute. From Officers Cadets to appointment holders . ^^
it's good but the exhibition needs to be updated. the version I remember have shooting gallery and army weapon. how we the discovery center in 2019 is about nation building and some games seem to have here since 2007 and require a upgrade. I wish it can showcase new technology like the discovery center we remember when we are children and not a history museum looking back at our past.
Great experience for us, especially for the kids! The interactive facilities are especially appealing for a quiet weekend. We liked the movie theater and 3D shows. All in all, great place to go if you have spare time.
With the cheapest and best cinema in town. A quiet and relaxing canteen to enjoy delicious food. A very good place for a lazy afternoon to refresh ur mind.
