Discountflies online fly shop

DiscountFlies Online Fly Shop nailed it with the Electric Green Drake. I took this pattern to the Poconos, and it was the only one the trout would touch during the green drake hatch, even after trying other similar imitations over several weeks.

I have been using #14 flies from DiscountFlies Online Fly Shop in Castle Pines and found this pattern to be far more effective than my usual Thin Mint Wooly Bugger, especially when stripped quickly. I really believe that smaller sizes often get more bites, and the dark tungsten weight here sinks the fly better than brass beadheads while the short tail helps reduce false strikes. It is a well-tied fly with excellent coloration!

The flies from DiscountFlies in Castle Pines look fantastic and are built to last. Shipping was lightning fast, which is a huge plus. I’m giving this a perfect 5 stars. I just need my daily work to clear up so I can actually get out on the water and test how well they work!

These are my go-to when I’m targeting both sheephead and redfish—both species really respond well to this pattern. The hooks stay sharp and hold the fish securely, which is exactly what I need when the bite is on.

As a regular at DiscountFlies Online Fly Shop in Castle Pines, I can confidently say this pattern is the best choice for Smallmouth in river settings, particularly in stained water. It is durable enough to land several fish without falling apart, and the conehead design ensures it sinks fast enough to work effectively with a floating line in moving water.

DiscountFlies Online Fly Shop nailed it with this pattern. It is genuinely one of my top choices for any hatch. The strikes are incredibly aggressive, and I’ve had trout break off just from the sheer force of their hit, even before I could set the hook. It’s not a generic imitation; this specific design from Castle Pines truly stands out and delivers results when other flies fail.

DiscountFlies Online Fly Shop in Castle Pines really knows how to make quality gear. This fly is a solid choice for any season, with perfect weight distribution and expert craftsmanship. A top-notch 5-star product.

This pattern is a solid choice for clear-water river smallmouth. It sinks slowly, and I’ve had great luck catching fish on the fall or during pauses. It even works well for both largemouth and peacock bass in the Everglades. My only gripe is that I wish they made this in larger sizes.

If you’re building your fly box, the rubber leg pattern is essential, and seeing it in purple is a real bonus—these flies definitely bring in fish. I’m really glad this color is now available. Discount Flies continues to impress with their consistent quality and fair pricing.

DiscountFlies Online Fly Shop nailed it with this pattern. The size 16 performed exceptionally well for me on both tailwaters and freestone rivers right here in Colorado. It has quickly become my go-to Sally nymph imitation, especially effective when I see heavy nymph activity or adults hatching along the water. A solid 5-star addition to my fly box.

I was really impressed with the craftsmanship of this fly. It performs beautifully when I'm fishing for PMD nymphs.

I’ve been using this excellent fly pattern from DiscountFlies Online Fly Shop, and it’s a must-have for Castle Pines anglers as trout start rising for hoppers and adult stoneflies. The craftsmanship is outstanding, with every detail meticulously finished. The dual parachutes make it incredibly visible in the water, even from afar or when drifting through riffles. Best of all, it floats exceptionally well, just like cork.

Landed some big rainbows from a local tailwater right after getting these flies!

I expect this fly will work wonders on the west side of Andros. I’ll be sure to update you next April once I’ve tried it out.

DiscountFlies never disappoints. I’ve stopped shopping elsewhere because their gear is just too good. This popper is tough and works perfectly for catching bluegill and small bass.

Landed this pattern during a PMD hatch in Utah, and my fishing buddy—a skilled guide who ties his own lures—was genuinely impressed. He actually stopped to ask where I got such a high-quality imitation. Highly recommend for anyone looking for top-tier dry flies.

These Super Slam Shrimp patterns are top-notch. I can already picture the Bonefish in Mayaguana paying the price come March.

DiscountFlies Online Fly Shop nailed it with this pattern. The material feels incredibly tough and durable, yet it actually has a nice translucency that looks even better in person than it does in their photos. Great quality from Castle Pines!

Solid pattern that Bonefish in the Bahamas really go for. Just a heads-up for those fishing through turtle grass: it helps to add a bit of mono to the front tip to keep it from getting snagged. Nice touch from the Discountflies team—they mentioned a weedless version is coming soon!

I’m looking forward to testing it again on our upcoming adventure and will be sure to update this review based on those results. Highly recommended for fly fishing enthusiasts!

Discount Flies really nailed the construction on these. They remain a top choice for the western slope of the Rockies, though I’d guess they perform just as well in other fly waters. The small sizes, particularly 18 to 24, are fantastic for matching BWOs and midges in various stages, whether they are emerging or fully submerged. Even the larger patterns imitate a variety of insects and life stages that consistently draw strikes.

DiscountFlies Online Fly Shop in Castle Pines really delivers on quality, which is why I’m giving them a five-star rating. My only small critique is that the sizes run a bit small; I would have preferred a 10, 8, and 6 sizing instead of the 12, 10, and 8, since the #12s were so tiny they felt more like nymphs than traditional dries.
