This place is the best! There are not enough of these stores around and this store is definitely one of the better one's. The people were nice, the store smelled good, and everything was priced great! I recommend anyone to come to this store!

Very nice religious place to visit and the customer service is wonderful.

This is my one stop shop botanica..they have candles of all kinds, herbs and roots, plenty of oils and incense for any situation, crystals and stones, jewelry and books..and sometimes they have a tarot reader on staff.. I've been going here for years, I love this place and Ms. Donna and Prophet James can help U determine what U need!!!

My favorite place in Eastern Market area. Wide range of goods and wonderful people.

WONDERFUL AND FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT.... A GOOD PLACE TO COME...

Herman needs his head checked. The shop is great they have been there for years. My family has shopped there for a long time. People need to stop with their negative garbage about the city and its long standing shops. I'm sick of seeing it and I report it every time it comes up.

Today I stopped by the candle shop at 421pm and the doors were locked.....The owner and several employees were standing by the window talking .When I knocked on the door the owner ignored me and continued to talk to the other person as if I wasn t there.....I continued to knock and the owner turned and said to me through the window that the store was closed I asked her what time the store closed and she said to me 5 pm....it was clearly 421pm when I checked my cell phone.the owner of the store proceeded to scold me and ask me why I couldn t get there sooner because it was the Holiday and she was closed.....as a business owner myself I felt that I drove from 20 miles away to visit this candle store and I inconvenienced her by try to patronize her business......very rude and no customer service etiquette.....sooooo sad

OMG! Received my order and I can smell the fragrance before I open the . I learned of this store via Vent Radio Keeping it with Big 50. I placed my order on Monday and received it Saturday. I have only heard of this shop in 2013 and I have been buying my candles from them ever since. I love that they have such a large selection (which gets confusing because I may go there intending to buy one thing, and then I leave with 5 things), and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this shop.

Yep. The manager, owner, or whatever she is; the one with the curly wig on was kinda rude and they didn't have what I needed. When I went several years ago, they were much nicer, more knowledgeable and had what I needed.

I've been coming here for years before they moved into this new bright space. Get a candle for yourself, and have it blessed for just a little bit extra. The staff is amazing and really helpful if you're looking for something specific. I always feel taken care of and I always leave happy.

Love this shop and it s owned by POC. You will be immediately drawn into the energy of the location specifically the numerous altars for Orishas and the nganga. The shop owner was very nice and gave me a discount.

The granddaughter that took over her grandmother s shop is super nice. That shop is always booming with business lol. I drive from Flint to go there because they have the best candles and incense to me. When you buy candles there, they ask if you want them blessed for a little extra. And trust me, blessings have flown into my life tremendously since using the candles from their shop for meditation and such; not just monetary. Overall the prices are surprisingly great and low! Check them out on Gratiot Ave near the Eastern Market and Fisher Fwy in Detroit!

Ahhh yassss magical beings, this place is a DETROIT GEM Free lot located next to it and be sure to get your candles blessed (or whatever they call when adding extras) before checkout!! Great service and unbeatable prices. You walk out feeling a little lighter as well.

3 stars is generous. I used to be a regular but they re just too rude for me so I go somewhere else now. They ve always been rude, even before the pandemic. They act like they re doing you a favor when it s really the other way around lol Kay is nice and the older white lady is too, but not anyone else. I ve walked the whole store and no one says a word to me. I want to support my people, but I ve taken my money elsewhere. I m sure the owner is rolling her eyes at my comment but who cares. I hope someone upbeat and friendly opens an occult store soon. **If you just wanna be in & out, then ignore my comments above, it s a unique store w/ plenty of stuff. Expect to wait forever in line no matter what the day/time of day is

The products are wonderful, however I cannot rate this store with 5 stars as they don t greet you when you walk in or even when you walk up to the counter. I brought my stuff up to the counter and the lady said Is this everything? This was my second time and the second time she seemed as though she didn t want to be bothered. How can we expect blacks to support each other, when some of us (as the lady here) comes off as unwelcoming to customers. This is my hard earned money, and I doubt I ll spend it with them again.

This place has a focus on prayer candles and the like. I came looking for soy/beeswax candles with specific scents so it wasn't really set up that way. I would rename this place blessings and discount candles lol. No one really came over and asked if we needed help either. Nonetheless it's a good prayer candles store. Just wasn't what I was looking for.

I find everything I need there and I just love Cassandra, she has a pleasant attitude and is a great help when needed. All employees that I have encountered I didn't have a problem with. I like the store, better parking is needed though :).

I was speaking with a gentleman who works here and the manager/owner (african american) lady who called him in just just looked at me and said nothing. Very rude.

I was very disappointed with this store. The white man behind the counter was extremely rude to me and my sister. I asked him for some oils and just kept yelling what do you want in a mean tone. I wanted the candles dressed and since they came dressed I could not get them blessed the way i wanted them. I started burning the candles and they just burnt black not clear like I wanted them to. I tried to return them and I they would not give me my money back. On top of it all I had to lug a case of candles down the street and almost got mugged. I am so traumatized from this experience I will never go there again and I suggest you to avoid this store at all costs.

Associates couldn't assist me in finding what i was looking for..until I was in line inquiring. To inform me that they didnt have it.
