Called me out of the blue. If I wanted to retain services, I'd contact an experienced SSD attorney, thank you. The representative did not introduce the company or qualify the services; she simply asked if I had ever applied for SSD benefits in the past or planned to in the future. That's personal and private information! How did they even get my info? Poor phone etiquette- she was completing my sentences. Poor information on MN disability services/resources for getting back to work. I've since made an appointment with my workforce center with a Vocational Rehabilitation counselor. The whole experience felt predatory.

They didn t prepare me at all for my hearing, only to bombard me with questions I didn t understand. After the hearing was over I sat sobbing and they said no I think it went really well. we dont prepare you so that your answers sound more genuine!
Two weeks later I recieved my first denile along with a call from disablity specialists saying they no longer wanted to handle my case. I was drug around by this company for two years being told I was doing a fantastic job building my case, only to when I was dropped, be told instead I should have been doing many other things with my time. I was even told the hot tip that being homeless would help my case. What a complete waste of my time and emotion.

edit for response below: no no, there was NO preperation for the hearing. NONE was done. Questions were not asked by the judge but by YOUR REPRESENTATIVE. In retrospect I m not even sure why I was asked what I was, so little of it was relivent to my case.

I'm not sure why so many people have left bad reviews. I never had a single issue with Disability Specialists. They called me probably monthly (yes, often with a restricted number and I figured it was for the safety of the employees) to make sure they were up to date on all my appointments, new symptoms/diagnoses, etc. My representative was Kelly Blad who was incredible. I hadn't spoken to her until the day of my hearing, which I had been told would be the case, and she was incredibly understanding, got me well prepared, and made me feel more confident going into the hearing. I had a phone hearing because of COVID-19 but that didn't stop her from being thorough and making sure I felt good going into it. After the hearing she called me again and told me how well I did. Like I said, she was nothing but incredible. I did have a $108 bill at the end of it which I hadn't expected but had no issue paying seeing as they successfully got me social security disability and the billhad what each charge was for. I'm so thankful to have had them by my side throughout the process.

Disability specialists are here to make money by collecting a portion of your benefits. They did a good job when I had a doctor mess me up which took 18 months to recover from. I received social security benefit at 59 for a closed period and they got paid a 25% of my benefits.
I later had to retire at 62 to replace both knees that were totally worn out. Disability specialists started another claim for disability. I had gotten better after healing and therapy but disability specialists suggested I go to the hearing. Disability specialists would not make any money for their record keeping on my case.
After all their years working with disability claims I was not warned that social security could recalculate my benefits. After the second hearing I received a partial favorable hearing like last time with a closed period of time. I was to get the difference of my retirement at 62 and full benefits for a closed period of time and disability specialists received $533 in compensation.
The following month I received a letter which changed my benefits for the second closed period to an overpayment. My social security benefit of $1280 was reduced to $1083 and I owed social security $1442 including the payment of $533 to disability specialists. Social security would not bill disability specialists for the $533 overpayment and disability specialists will not return it. So when they say no compensation no fees is a lie. Social security billed me the overpayment of $909 and the fees payed to disability specialists of $533. So for the next year I lose another $120 per month to pay back the overpayment.
Beware if you have a closed period of time because social security can recalculate your benefits and disability specialists will not return money paid to them by social security to social security if there is an recalculated overpayment
