Best coffee in Toronto. Affordable and great taste

Changed from 5 to 2 Becuase in the last few months the coffee has been constantly burnt. Not sure if its the new staff or what, but it's gone from my favourite cafe to a somewhat questionable at times

Decked out with lavish red leather couches, marble tables, vintage lighting, retro interior, floor to ceiling window, the space is absolutely gorgeous. However, the good side kinda ends right there. Maybe it s the early morning-the service was pretty unfriendly, the $5 latte comes with sloppy latte art. I m sure there are better days but management - quality control and consistency is key. 2 stars.

Delicious coffee!
Great location!
Nice interior!

What is not to like here. Great spot to work if you like a loud vibe. Lots of traffic, young crowd.

You'll like it if you enjoy a hip place.

I got the flat white, it was fantastic. Finished in no time.

The cutest and by far my most favourite coffee shop downtown. The sandwiches are always fresh and the smell of coffee is always welcoming and nostalgic in a way. A great place to kill time or to get work done in.

Great Coffee shop with a wonderful heritage fitout. Indoor and outdoor seating.

The coffee is very good, The staff are friendly and make you feel like they are happy you are there. I personally prefer table service, but here you order and pickup at the counter.

Highly recommended spot for your morning or afternoon caffeine fix.

A great place to eat a delicious blueberry scone and have a vanilla latte ( done right) with awesome music in the background. The staff are super friendly, too! This is my new favourite place.

A great place in downtown Toronto; usually packed during winter time, but in summer they open the patio and put chairs out. Good place for having meeting or taking your date out. Great coffee, not that expensive. Also it has a very nice chandelier inside.

The beautiful Dineen Coffee Shop, conveniently located in downtown Toronto will be a treat for your taste buds and your ears, that is when they have live bands performing on site. I love the service and I recommend it 110%.

This place is clean, efficient and busy. This makes it hard to hang out and have a real conversation. The coffee is good, the architecture interesting, the patio is lovely in the summer. And the flowers are real!

Their chai lattes are good with lots of cinnamon.

The atmosphere is great, the coffee just fab and it smells wonderful inside the shoppe. It would be really nice if seating was increased. We found a spot in the corner but seating is very limited.

The place was packed when i got there so i had to wait about 20 mins to get a good seat. This place is perfect for a meeting DT, i was able to get a lot of work done here (don't bother working here if you don't like noise). The latte is honestly the best i have ever had.

Love this coffee shop! The coffee is delicious - my favourite is their iced vanilla latte. I also buy their temperance roast to make their coffee at home - they will even grind the beans for whatever machine you are using!

Also love all of their pastries - their carrot cake muffin, cheddar and chives scones, yum!

Dineen offers some of the best coffee in Toronto, and you pay a price fair for that quality. Their cappuccino is amongst the best I've had; rich flavours with no bitterness. The interior is chique, clean and the patio is a nice touch. My only suggestion is to offer a better selection of pastries and or cakes.

Five people in line behind me received their coffees before me. When the shop was empty because everyone had received their coffees except for me, I brought this to the staff s attention and they realized that my cup was never properly placed in the queue of orders - it was left to the side and forgotten about. The staff didn t even apologize to me for the wait.

The place is really crowded and loud, chairs are so close to each other. Coffee was good but I d probably go to a place with more space. I felt like I was knocking over peoples things while trying to get to my seat. I can see the summer they would have a nice patio but it would be even more crowded.

Gave this place so many chances. Absolutely loved the first coffee I received, it was hands down best I had had in the city at the time. Now, every time I've been recently, the coffee has been burnt (coming from a barista, I know burnt coffee). It was bitter and highly unpleasant, even after adding a sweetener to try and mask the taste. Staff are also hit and miss. One day they're lovely, the next you're a hindrance just for ordering a coffee.

This is not specialty coffee at its finest. Awful awful coffee. Nice la marzocco, cafe has all the looks but then you have crap roasted to hell beans, poor baristas and your timmy horton customers who ask for oversized lattes and dump syrup in their drink. Real coffee i recommend m squared coffee under sheraton or early bird. Did i mention you serve milk like bath foam ????

Coffee and pasteries are very good but locale and space are excellent. Large picture windows onto the cornered streets, very comfortable chairs and wall benches with round table tops. Neat retro refurbished motif.

I adore the coffee and teas here. Completely and delightfully above-average quality. The atmosphere is utterly charming, with handsome decorations and architecture. The location is ideal, right on yonge near king, yet it's tucked away on a street corner giving it the feeling more like old Montreal, rather than in the downtown Toronto core.

It's not often a place is able to transcend its physical location to such an extent and evoke visions of other spaces so far removed, yet the charisma of dineen achieves just that.

Unfortunately, I'm not the only one to appreciate the magic of the place. Seating is often difficult to find if you stop by during peak hours. At least we know that this urban delight will most likely not be going anywhere any time soon.
