It is extremely disrespectful to call grown adults, especially elderly people "honey" and "sweetie". Those are names people call CHILDREN. No one likes it, I can literally hear a patient complaining about it NOW. You should know, as professionals, to refer to patients as Mr or Miss, Mrs and their last name. I am offended as well and will be making a formal complaint when I return home.
Stop it, it's demeaning and you adults should be trained better.
First I would like to start that initially I felt my care for my UC was outstanding and felt that Dr. Gislason cared about his patients. Then my appointments kept getting cancelled and rescheduled. This happened with every appointment that was set up. So my care was not managed well. At one point, I kept telling him my symptoms were getting out of control. Finally after a year in decided to get some blood work and another scope. And to his amazement my hemoglobin was 6. This required a blood transfusion. When I did see him later week, he said he was surprised because I was not pale. Anyways he goes on constant vacations and I feel he has forgotten the meaning of good patient care. I rely on him to keep my appointments and manage my disease. I would get so upset at the schedulers because of the constant cancellation of my appointments. I have received a letter saying he will no longer care for me, because I did get upset, frustrated and felt in alone in fighting to stay well with this disease. I have done my part and he failed to his part. You should really consider a different physician if you are assigned his care.
They can send me a $130 bill but never call me back with results for testing or return my calls. I'll stick with Deaconess from here on out, never had any problems with them.
Dr.Michael B. Rushe. Is a very nice gentleman. Explains things. Cares about his customers. Observes. Staff are great
Very disappointed in our care and treatment of our 25 year old son. He could have been given a simple blood test for pancreatitis upon arrival instead of being given Prozac, pepto bismol and treatment for upset stomach and pushed aside for weeks! The nurse treated him terrible as he would call every few days still in pain. His calls for help were pushed aside and when I went in with my son to talk to the nurse she walked out of the room when we were asking for some answers to some questions regarding blood tests. I ve never been treated so unprofessionally. I asked if he could be admitted to st Vincent to get tests done quicker and she told us he wasn t sick enough and would not be admitted to St Vincent, she actually looked at him and asked if he had a fever? We immediately left and went to Deaconess ER because my son was doubled over in pain this whole time. Upon arriving at Deaconess the ER immediately admitted him, gave him pain meds and ultimately found a stone blocking his pancreatic duct. The icing on the cake with this group is that we received a letter in the mail from Dr. Kahn saying Kyle has pancreatitis and to quit smoking and drinking and keep his regular appointment! We were never taken seriously.
Digestive care Center will not let a Caregiver into the office visit with you.
My complaint was with their billing department. They used billing codes that the insurance company would not pay for. My colonoscopy results came back fine, no polyps were found. It is my understanding that if no polyps are found a colonoscopy is covered by insurance 100% according to federal law. My insurance company was willing to call and discuss this with Digestive Care Center, however they refused to discuss it anymore. They then stated that they were unwilling to change the procedure codes. My husband is due for a colonoscopy soon. Needless to say we won't be using this provider, there are other places to get this procedure done. Not only were they not helpful but I would say they were quite rude. This is the first review I have ever put out but I thought it needed to be done.
On my place that decided to dig a little further and find an issue that no other doctor sought in 10 years of misery. Very nice, every time we go.
I am convinced that Patty is a literal angel. She goes way above and beyond for clients.
