Dierenpark Emmen Review

Everywhere people, it seems even busier than without corona, nobody keeps their distance and all that. However, there are disinfection posts everywhere.

Beautiful zoo with a different approach than the other zoos. Very nice

Too bad the old zoo had to close, but this is a worthy replacement. Unfortunately less fun and cozy as the previous park, but a nice outing anyway.

Nice zoo, but also many empty places. Would be nice if more animals come in Wildlands. Entrance fee is on the high side.

Great expectation but very disappointed. Few animals that do have a lot of space. But the "adventure" concept is hard to find. Because the 3 attractions are disappointing. The first is a 4D cinema ride of a few minutes. The second is a so-called Jeep safari in a big trick. You have already seen the animals you see when you walk up to them. Again you stand outside in a minute or 3 to 5. If it is 5. it is because of the congestion. The last attraction is boat boating in the inner part. Again, you can also see everything on foot. A few monkeys and some elephants and that's about it. Again you are outside after a few minutes.

All in all 3 hours waiting for a total of 10 to 15 minutes to undertake something that you have already seen on 2 of the 3 attractions.

For the children there are many things to do in terms of sound and clambering and that is very nice for the children.

All in all a very nice concept. But much and much too small and limited. If you have been to other parks (especially in the US) then you understand the concept but you also see that Wildlands is very much short.

Too expensive if you have to pay the regular entrance fee.

Had a super day, very nice experience there is plenty to see at Wildlands

You cannot buy tickets online from Belgium and too expensive in the preseason because all attractions are not open

The children really enjoyed it There were plenty of animals, all of whom stayed in their own special environment, which gives it an adventurous atmosphere and is very educational. They also have a beautiful covered area, because of this you can just continue enjoying without getting wet to be rained

Beautiful animal park where you actually have to stay 2 days if you go there with children, there are plenty of playgrounds, eateries and toilets.
Only downsides to today (in corona time), there are disinfecting pumps everywhere in the park and we were able to find 2 that actually worked and at the queues for the tour bus to be driven through the park, everyone stood there and also the buses were fully loaded, clearly not 1.5 meters when all the seats are occupied.
A really nice park but therefore 4 out of five stars

10 euro parking fee. A lot of money ..... once within few plates what is ... do have an app. But not handy. Few animals. Old zoo was better. Praise to the volunteers! Friendly, spontaneous and helpful. There is no shortage of catering, just like toilets.

Beautiful zoo where the welfare of animals is thought, instead of as many animals as possible per square meter !!

A nice park and you can reach everything easily. I also like the fact that a number of animals roam freely.

The park is spacious with natural accommodation for the animals. It is just like walking in the jungle or on the savannah. The shows are also very fun and educational. Some animals walk right in front of you.

Great park, good service, extra show from Jim, how do I survive the jungle, because we missed the first one with our group of children. Absolutely great!

Had a great day luckily it has remained dry, but it is a pity that many food and drink stalls were closed

The zoo is too small everywhere you walked you just had to wait to see the animals. It was very busy on this day, we arrived at 10 am and went again at 2 am. We had seen the entire park in less than 4 hours. The polar area is so small that only penguins and 1 polar bear could be seen. You walked into a dead end street, as it were.

We come here often. Nice park. Plenty to do for all ages. Friendly staff and good involved volunteers. Highly recommended for a day out.

Very nicely laid out. More an amusement park than an animal park. The music that can be heard through the park is totally unnecessary.

Beautiful Park, however, the emphasis is more on a theme park than on an animal park. Not a lot of animal species for such a large park surface.

Go and see is nicely set up and you come in different worlds, the effort is true and your day is over in no time

If you live in the neighborhood you must have seen a very nice park but there are several beautiful parks and to drive from Kerkrade here to frivolously we happened to be in the neighborhood. But it remains a beautiful park and the animals have enough space.

No park to go again ... is very disappointing. Too bad the previous version of the zoo was nicer !!

We have purchased a subscription because it is really nice but you do not see everything in the day

During corona measures, so have to reserve a time slot before the start time. Very busy in the morning and early afternoon. Waiting times for the boats, safari etc was really impossible. But later in the afternoon the zoo suddenly seemed almost extinct. Then I did a whole round. What a beautiful zoo, accommodations are really adapted to the animals. We thoroughly enjoyed.

We had a very nice outing with the family! The attractions between the animals makes it fun and varied. Especially for the children. We can certainly recommend it.

Great nicely laid out. Here and there you walk between the animals. Really another world you've sailed into. You are also very pleasantly helped and the employees are happy to tell about their animals and plants. Really recommended even if you have 200 km. to drive.

Small. Lots of wasps .. Even though it is a zoo, do something about your wasps !!!

I missed the variety of animals. A few more animals could be added. It is not really adventurous either. It is a bit of a disappointment. It is more a wasteland instead of a wildlands. There are more eateries and shops than animal enclosures. If they had more animals, it would certainly be 4 stars. The indoor playground was very large. The covered area is also very beautiful. Shows are also quite entertaining.

Beautiful decoration, spaciously enough one drawback is that there is not a logical route. The safari river in the jungle could have lasted a bit longer. And besides, on hot days + 25 should encourage them just standard atomization in the jungle.

Nice park and as stated earlier they do not have very many animal species. But the animals that are there have the space and I think it is good. Romping meerkats, sodemieters of spider monkeys and elephants who playfully fool each other in the water. What animal lover doesn't want to see that the animals are enjoying themselves. And despite the small selection of animals, you can still spend a great day there. Top Wildlands.

The old Dierenpark was better. We didn't think it was so nice, as you could only walk paved paths and the animals could only be seen through peepholes in the plants and trees growing on the edge.

This zoo is a full day activity. This park is not that old yet and therefore the decor is sometimes too sparse. This park is ideal for children. Clearly arranged animal stays. Nice and big and therefore the chance that animals can be out of sight. A pity that the elephants inside are only visible from the boats. That are boring without information. There is plenty of food and drink and the toilets are clean. The 3 parts of the world are well themed. And the indoor play area for children is excellent. It is a 15 minute walk from the station.

Today arrived in Wildlands at 10 a.m. and departed again at 5 p.m.
My wife and I do not understand the negative statements on the internet.
Okay, you have to go out all day to see everything at your leisure, but if you do, you will also see a lot of animals that are hidden and suddenly appear if you know how to be patient.
Of all the animals there are enough to get an impression of what the living habits are.
During this period the crowds are of course not that great and therefore no waiting times, but the park is great and the animals all look very well cared for.
This was our first visit, but certainly not the last visit.

Nice not too big park. We have been in the summer holidays on Thursday 1 August. Very hot day. Stand at 10.00 at the gate. Walked through the park at ease. Roll up leg ham during lunch. Was delicious.
We were able to participate at all attractions. Given the queues, it can be very busy. In combination with an overnight stay in the Fletcher hotel a must. Walking distance.

Unfortunately a real disappointment ... Few animals and the animals that were there we often could not see. Bad information. A large park, spacious, but not enough zoo. Lots of play attributes and food stalls. We're not going here anymore. Unfortunately.

The name is somewhat misleading. It is no longer a zoo but an adventure park. If you only come for the animals, you will be disappointed. The concept as an attraction park is also disappointing with 5 attractions. But a nice outing for small children.

Nice innovation. But it is a pity that there are so few animals and that the park does not live ... everything is nicely decorated but it is not the atmosphere that the cultures / areas should convey. Was very disappointing. Few animals, most of them in the stable because of the cold. Unfortunately paying full pounds while a reduced winter rate would be more appropriate. 3 hours, parking ticket 10 euros!

Very nice for a day outside. Fewer animals than in a conventional zoo, but plenty of room for those who are there. Beautiful plants with great attention to detail. Boat tours and truck safaris also provide a bit of mild "thrill".

Well settled. We need improvements especially in corona time

Nice park, good to entertain a day. Only a few things struck me / against: Not touching / not feeding is not clear enough for many people, often seen that this goes wrong for both adults and children. The parents must point out to their children that they are not allowed to do this, but this does not happen. Because of this a monkey was also shot away. What also disappointed me were the price / quality of the food. I want to pay quite a bit more, but I think 5 euros for a ball with a meatball is very exaggerated and then not to speak about the quality, I ate tasty meatballs for half the price. My advice is to bring your own food and drinks (find a place without wasps :))

Nicely decorated park. The diversity of the different landscapes can be called unique. The number of animals should, in my opinion, be more. However, it is an adventure park instead of a zoo. The large spaces for the animals that live in the park are very impressive! I have been there once and will not choose Wildlands again in the coming years.

As far as animals are concerned, not very spectucaler but super nice park with nice attractions. Some more trash bins should be placed

Seen many beautiful animals, plenty of opportunities to sit and have a bite to eat. Everywhere clear one-way traffic and many disinfection points and possibilities to wash hands.

I keep it short, do not want to be too negative, but can only be positive about the size of the park, very few animals, that is positive, but then give a dolphin-like show and cross a savannah with a safari truck. , for real? more an amusement park than an animal park, but without animals and attractions. Park is relative new, still a lot of homework to do. (And that Efteling music on the trails, really can not)

Wildlands is a beautiful park where the animals have a lot of space in their enclosures. The design of their accommodation is also very nicely done.
The total number of animals that Wildlands has is therefore also a good number. I prefer to stay in which the animals have more room to move around, something that is not the case in many zoos. But in Wildlands there is no lack of exercise space for the animals and I like that very much about this park.

My criticisms are:
- the entrance fee is too high
- I think the amount of butterflies in the butterfly garden is too little
- it was too dark in the park in the evening. There could certainly be placed more lighting
