About /dev/color

/dev/color: Empowering Black Technologists to Change the Tech Industry for Good

In today's digital age, technology has become an integral part of our lives. From smartphones to laptops, we rely on technology for almost everything. However, the tech industry has been plagued by a lack of diversity and inclusion, particularly when it comes to Black technologists. This is where /dev/color comes in.

/dev/color is a non-profit organization that aims to empower Black technologists and change the tech industry for good. The organization was founded in 2015 by Makinde Adeagbo, a former software engineer at Pinterest who recognized the need for more diversity in tech.

The mission of /dev/color is simple: to provide Black software engineers with the support they need to advance their careers and become leaders in their field. The organization offers a range of programs and resources designed specifically for Black technologists, including mentorship opportunities, career development workshops, networking events, and more.

One of /dev/color's flagship programs is its mentorship program. Through this program, experienced Black engineers are paired with early-career engineers who are looking to grow their skills and advance their careers. Mentors provide guidance on everything from technical skills development to navigating workplace dynamics.

Another key initiative from /dev/color is its career development workshops. These workshops cover topics such as resume writing, interviewing skills, salary negotiation tactics and other essential job search strategies that help members land jobs at top companies like Google or Facebook.

In addition to these programs aimed at individual members' growth within the industry itself; /dev/color also works towards changing company culture through partnerships with leading tech companies like Airbnb or Dropbox which have committed themselves towards increasing diversity within their workforce by partnering up with organizations like ours!

The impact that /dev/color has had on its members cannot be overstated - many have gone on to secure high-profile positions at some of Silicon Valley's most prominent companies thanks in part due not only because they were given access but also because they were empowered through our community-driven approach which fosters collaboration between peers while providing them access into exclusive networks otherwise inaccessible without such support systems available elsewhere online or offline alike!

If you're interested in joining this dynamic community of talented black technologists who are changing the face of tech one day at a time then visit us online today!
