The German Schauspiehaus with its 1200 seats is always worth a visit.
Very nice architecture in the foyer as well as in the hall.
I can only speak for a few evenings, of course, but I've always been convinced of the SchauSpielHaus. A nice atmosphere paired with beautiful pieces. Add to that the fantastic stage.
The Deutsches Schauspielhaus is a theater of superlatives of the Hanseatic city of Hamburg. A touch of luxury and extravagance goes through the house with red velvet drawn stair rails to match the red carpet throughout the house. The theater itself is from another era! A work of art through and through.
We watched the play "The Golden Glove"
Incredible! Arsonists and leftist terrorists are allowed to camp in the venerable theater! The left-wing extremist attitude of those responsible should be punished!
Excellent actors / actresses. Sophisticated pieces. Not for nothing, I have an annual subscription.
A great historic house with a varied program of old classics, modern plays to poetry slam, cabaret, musical and much more. I like to be there.
A very nice theater and a really great ensemble. However, the prices are really cheeky.
The largest stage in Germany, great ensemble, good actors
I have already seen a few pieces at the Schauspielhaus. By and large, all the pieces were great, except for one or the other mistake. This does not mean, however, that the acting performance was bad, but the nature of the piece or the presentation was not mine. The theater itself is very beautiful and it is always fun to look inside when you sit down in your seat. I would like to come back, if suitable pieces are in the program.
Excellent today, especially Devid Striesow, but also his partner.
Always theater, which also occasionally provides grounds for controversial criticism. Huge, very decorative theater hall.
Beautiful old building with appropriate theater charm. Good actor.
Opulent hall, the view of the stage is partially limited by the upper ranks. Lazarus was still terrific!
In itself great, but you want to react to the stage, they are a bit rough.
When I was a little kid I went to the theater for the first time. Perfect for a classic theater evening. Dress up nicely, a champagne and a pretzel, continuous to pointed ensemble and a wonderful hall round off the evening. More could be invested in the restaurant. That would round off the overall picture.
Nina Hagen ....... simply great.
The playhouse is great.
Nice, old, big hall, comfortable seats with leg room, good view of the stage
Abstruse and illogical: the only sighted person could safely take care of food and kill the violent offenders. The last part with the light reflections was injury to the audience, for me at least very painful, then I covered my eyes and did not look anymore. To conclude: if I want to watch movies I go to the movies, even where there are high acting.
"The best dirt" from the crime scene cleaner .... simply entertaining and in the best atmosphere!
A bit small and at first it smelt strange but the performance and the scenery were bombastic. The toilets were also very clean
With "Junk" we saw an exceptionally good production. A moving theater evening that we recommend to many visitors. But: It was a problem for us to understand the texts acoustically. That is extremely unfortunate. There should be opportunities today to work with microphones that make listening easier and do not restrict directing.
Seen Ivanov, great performance!
Playhouse as beautiful as ever!
I love the Schauspielhaus, which not only has an interesting and varied program. The house itself is also beautiful, ideally located at Hamburg Central Station.
An evening that has a long lasting positive effect.
Very nice historical theater. Definitely worth a visit!
A fantastic theater! Great program and for students there are often very attractive specials! There are many different rooms and the organization is very good.
On January 25th, 2017 we attended a concert in the Deutsches Schauspielhaus. Maps can be printed out on the website. As a visitor to the event, you can park for comparatively cheap 5 euros (pay at the ticket machine before the concert), and from there through a passage you can reach the Schauspielhaus in 2 minutes. Old-fashioned ambience is paired with perfect organization.
Nice to be back! Actors show great, full performance in front of a half-full (Corona) hall
Institution in Hamburg. Absolutely (best to Studio Braun or Heinz Strunk) visit even if tickets are sold out quickly.
Favorite theater. Hammer Ensemble. Impressive productions <3
Ordering tickets via the Internet is extremely easy. E-tickets just awesome (unlike other houses, the non-optional extra charge of 4, for sending paper). There is noticeable handicap discount (and not "only half-wanted" as with others). The ambience is beautiful. And so far, all of my attended performances were terrific.
I watched the drama Robin Hood and it was top notch! Keep it up !
A Hamburg institution! chubby, old and nice pie. Ensemble great and performances mostly good. Prices "normal" for Hamburg. E.g. Lazarus von Bowie 56 in the rank: P
Perfect setting, great actors ... only the parquet seats are nothing more to sit on
Of course, it depends on which pieces are currently playing. But the quality should be consistently positive.
Traditional house with mostly good to very good pieces!
Best theater in Hamburg.
Fantastically beautiful baroque auditorium.
Stagings on the pulse of time.
Actor top league.
There is exciting theater, entertaining and modern. The largest talk theater in Germany.
Incredibly beautiful in it! Highly recommended when it comes to culture.
Family atmosphere. Very great employees. Simply TOP! A look behind the scenes is worth a visit
Great ensemble. Very nice house. Interesting pieces.
Seats are very comfortable. The Schauspielhaus is also easy to find as it is not far from the main station. What I also found great, is the ticket booking on the website. 2 hours before the performance quickly booked the ticket via Wallet Pass on the phone. Everything worked great. Thank you for the great evening with problems, problems, problems.
Unfortunately, the seats in the 1st rank on the left, row 1, seats 1 + 2 were so limited by a grille, which is NOT mentioned when booking, that it was not a pleasure to see the piece. It was a shame for this price range, because the actors of -Who is afraid of Virginia Woolf- were great, as far as you could tell!
Great theater, many places, beautiful soundscape and cheap tickets
Very good theater! You can never go wrong with the performances, the prices are okay, especially in proportion, and the hall itself is clean and the seats are comfortable. Anyone looking for a successful piece will always find it here.
Note 1
The canteen is finally reopened in the Schauspielhaus Hamburg, now as a restaurant in the Theaterkeller in the Kirchenalle next to the main entrance.
Who is afraid of V.W.? Very well. Played great. Has a few lengths. Great actors !!!
