Everything was closed by 4 on a saturday also your website states there is no age limit for scouts to participate in an activity but when my lion cubs got into the bb gun range they were Told to leave the area the are not love to see but they were permitted to shoot compound bows. Which since the kids were bridging over that night they should have been allowed to since they will still be the same age the next day The only thing that changes is what you recognize from a lion to a tiger Besides that there was not much at tiwi things for the kids to do for A-day and a 1/2 they were there do not recommend going unless you have a leader of a group or somebody that has minute to minute things planned

Incredibly poor communication. Refused to accomodate anything, including allergies, unless you filled out a bunch of forms a head of time. Camp management was rude about issues instead of trying to resolve them. Some staff were helpful, and facilities were in good shape, but with a program that bad I won't go back.

I went there for girls camp and the food was terrible, they double booked 2 of the 5 cabins, you got little poportions of food, the bathrooms were terrible, the life guard wasn t certified, and they didn t come through on their promises. They need to be overlooked.

Jerry & Jack are great guys. Always a positive Scouting experience. With a couple lakes, fishing, swimming and other water sports, horse barn, cabin or tent camping, shooting sports ranges, human sized foosball, D bar A has a lot to offer.

This is my first year here at D Bar A. The facilities have been kept in fairly good condition. BUT! We had several toilets that would not flush properly. Getting help was almost nonexistent. But the worst thing was the food. Camper beware!! They give you worse food than a school cafeteria and about half as much. Horrible! And that's coming from someone who isn't picky. The portion size was way too small for a bunch of active busy teenagers. When you are paying over 350 dollars a boy for less than a week, the food better be good. Also, the water seemed to be hit and miss. Some places the well water tasted great. Others smelled strong of surpher. DBAR A! You need to correct these issues. I had heard such amazing things about this camp and I am not impressed.

I love this camp and camped here a lot as a kid, this is however the first time I have been back to the camp in almost twenty years. Over all the camp is in pretty good condition but it could use some work in a few areas as it still feels just like it did twenty years ago, not like a modern camp you would expect. I also understand that enrollment in scouting has been in decline but seeing Beaver Lake water front in such poor condition was saddening as I put in some great years in working at the waterfront during my teenage years.

Our troop camps at D-bar-A regularly on the weekends and were hesitant to try out the summer camp when we were asked to consider it. The Scouts in our troop decided on a vote to try D-bar-A out for the 2018 season. We were pleasantly surprised! The campsite we had was awesome. We were one of the few troops who wanted to do patrol cooking this year, so their were a few bumps in the road. The bumps were handled well by the kitchen and camp staff, so no complaints here.
Overall, the camp staff accommodated our patrol cooking needs and we had a successful week at camp. The activities and camp program were much better than expected and I would expect most, if not all who attended this year would want to return again. The camp staff sincerely cares about the quality of their program and are improving it each year. Give it a try! Support Michigan Scout Camps!

One of the biggest Scout ranches in the nation. Has everything a little and big kid can want; house back riding, swimming, hiking, rock climbing, archery, BB, rifle, and shotgun shooting. Staff is super helpful and friendly. A great place for scouts from the city to enjoy the great outdoors and work on their scout skills. Plenty of fun and educational activities all year round.

I went here for 3 years for band camp. Now I came back 11 years later for my sister's band camp. They have just been improving their grounds. The camp is nice and clean. There's a lot to do. Definitely recommended.

Staff great. But hard to get assistance for events as it's all on staff volunteer basis and they seem short handed for the amount of groups. Need coffee though, Jerry opened early and brewed a pot when coffee maker broke! First class.

Our Troop visits this camp multiple times per year. The facilities are great, plenty of woods to use as we need, miles of trails and the occasional horse ride. The staff is always available for assistance and guidance. Always a good weekend!

As a scout troop we have been here probably 20 times in my tenure with our troop. We have always been treated right. The staff goes above and beyond. We went here for summer camp 2 years ago and had a blast.

Some of the best times I've ever had there. I worked there growing up my entire life. I had so much fun and also learned so much from dave, jack, and the boss I had at the time Steve Bailey. I wouldn't trade those memories for anything. It never felt like work. Hopefully one day my boys can work there.
