Dethmers Review

I was happy enough with the first trailer, I bought a second from Demco. So far the 2nd trailer is absolutely perfect, I thought it was also really awesome Ken called again and talked with me for quite awhile thanking me for giving them another shot and to see how happy I am with the new trailer and wanted to hear my honest opinion of the trailers. He also asked several questions about some of the things I do and do not like about the trailers and let me know about some options that I did not know where available.

{Bought a side dump trailer last year from demco mauer circle r. The trailer has been in several times for issues with cradles and tub not sitting right and cracking. The fix they feel is acceptable on a brand new trailer is to heat torch and bend, or grind and spray paint. If you want something nice I would look at something else. If you want to pay for a brand new trailer and have it beat on spray painted and over sprayed circle r demco is the way to go. How those are acceptable fix's is mind boggling. Rick is there representative, at one time he told me to stop calling him. Most of the time ignores his phone and email. I had to tell him my attorney was getting involved just to get a call back.}

After this review I was called promptly by Ken and the issue was resolved in a quick helpful manner. Thank you

If you are looking for a supplemental brake system for a towed vehicle behind a motorhome, SMI Manufacturing has the best products on the market and their customer service is 1st class.

I had one of their early systems that you had to take in and out of the towed vehicle for 16 years. We never had a problem with it and it worked great for all those years. When we bought our new diesel motorhome with airbrakes, we had them install an Air Force One system. The system works proportionately so if you softly apply the brakes in the motorhome, the brakes are applied softly in the towed vehicle. If you apply the brakes harder in the motorhome, the brakes are applied harder in the towed vehicle. Another key feature is that it keeps the vacuum in the towed vehicle power brake system active so your power / anti-lock brakes work in your towed vehicle which then requires much less pressure on the towed vehicle brake system (and prevents you from locking up your towed vehicle brakes and potentially flat spotting your tires).

I can't say enough good about the company, the employees or the products, they are all 1st class. Next time I'm in the market for a supplemental brake system I won't hesitate to go back to SMI Manufacturing!
