I've been to weddings here, I've been to multiple exhibits here, and keep coming back. Love this place.

I've been to weddings here, I've been to multiple exhibits here, and keep coming back. Love this place.
I went here for a volunteer experience and honestly it was a great place to be. It was many people of different ages enjoying this place. Photo perfect place with educational spin. It is a must see attraction if you're in the area and bring your camera.
Nice walk, lovely views any time of year. Note the Chihuly glass installations that remain throughout the garden. Creosote smells like the desert when it rains. The butterfly exhibit is a seasonal treat.
Do not go midday in July...way too hot and very little shade.
So wonderful to see such exceptional and well maintained grounds. The staff were awesome and the butterflies in the butterfly garden were friendly. Love it and I would visit again.
There is always something new here, love to hear all the birds chirping and seeing all the little critters between the plants. Their Electric light show is a must see!
Very beautiful place, clean and well maintained, attractively built. Every turn is a new discovery. I have taken my out of town friends here several times and loved it each time. Reach part of the garden has something unique to show.
It's expensive: $30 for adults as of 04/2019. I used the culture passes from the library to get two free tickets.
Love it! Set in beautiful natural setting, a fantastic way to spend a day with Nature
Very unique place, beautiful and kind of learning experience, must keep hydrated and protected from the sun. One of the must enjoyable activities while in Phoenix.
Today, I had one of the most awesome days of exploring the city of phoenix at botanical garden..its full of wonders and beautiful creatures.Rich varities of cactuses, huge , old and still holds the attraction..one must go and visit the place....thank God weather was superly pleasant on 14th of May.
What a great evening, we went to see the gardens under the stars with the light show. The lights were fantastic, along with lovely music. What a wonderful way to walk off dinner, and spend quality time with my parents.
I was invited as a guest by my roommate who is a member saying the light expo at night was a must see. He was correct. I enjoyed the incorporation of the lights and sound reflecting off the gardens. They had some really cool shows and it was a nice walk. I do believe some areas could of used some more lighting since it was a night show and they had a few areas closed off. We alsp did go on a night a wedding was taking place but those are just things that happen. It was kinda of one or the other type events, you go at night for the light show or go in the daytime of course if your interested in really looking at the garden and getting the full view of all the plants and readings they have to offer. Ill be looking forward to next years exhibits and taking a trip during the day before the weather gets to warm.
The Good: The Electric light show was pretty amazing, recommend for all ages.
The Bad: None that I could see
Overall: I definitely recommend seeing this while it is around. There are a few dates after the holidays as well but definitely worth your trip.
We visited with young kids and it was educational and interesting for our five year old. The gardens were much higher in quality and design than I expected which made it fun for adults, and the little native replica houses were perfect for little ones. The linear path layout is great for containing the little ones and creates a walking route they tend to stay on without disappearing which is nice for exhausted parents.
As always, the DBG is amazing! Electric Desert was extremely well done and a sight to behold. Such a fun and interesting experience.
It was 100 degrees when we arrived in April too hot we never saw the building where you pay just extremely hot parking lot we just left when we couldn't get a parking place
Amazing place to visit at night. Very calm and relaxing. Good place to take your lady on a date fellas! ;)
Not as colorful as all the pictures i seen but was interesting this was the first time ive seen so many cacti together it was still cool.
It's a bit pricy, but you can get 2 free admissions at any library in Az...
Definatly worth checking out!! It's beautiful...
You can find numerous species of desert plants combined with sculptures of different artists. In my opinion, the price is very expensive ($ 30 adults). I do not recommend going when it rains. The garden loses all beauty.
If you like plants, go ahead.
If you want to take some pictures of the mountains in the area with some cacti, I recommend taking some pictures on the way to the entrance.
So beautiful in the spring - and heard a great concert as well! LOVE it!
We really enjoyed our time meaning through the gardens and learned a lot as well. Watch for the hidden cat!
Amazingly peaceful place. I highly recommend it. I bought their membership pass so I go all the time. It has something for everybody no matter your age.
absolutely stunning collection of desert plants, succulents and cactus. the gardens are extensive so plan to spend some time there if you'd like to see everything - and it is well worth your while. I go at least once a year and always find something I've never seen before. it can be hot during the summer months so plan for that.
What a peaceful way to explore and see the desert foliage. Walked around each trail and the sights were just breathtaking. The only cactus we have back home sit on your countertop. Would recommend to someone who wants to explore the desert without going off trail.
It s a really great experience. I had never visited a botanical garden before and I enjoyed it. I also really liked that they had a free day that I was able to take advantage of and not have to pay the admission price which is a bit expensive for me.
Very serene and beautiful with an astounding variety
This place is AWESOME. Had a great time. Wish I lived closer!
Absolutely beautiful. Check out the butterfly exhibit if you can.
This place is like step into another world. Once you pass through the entrance you entire soul become energized. I was feeling a little sluggish but that feeling just left me. I was I can't explain it my mind because clearer, my eyesight because clearer. I feel at ease and at peace with everything and everyone. If you haven't been to the garden you must go and if you been already go again.
The Electric Desert was great! If you are not in the holiday spirit after visiting check your pulse. The music was great and the displays were beautiful.
Awesome show of lights and music at the electric in the desert show. You can walk around and have a beer with lots of places to sit and walk around. Bring some friends and do something different for the night.
The most beautiful layouts of cactus in the gardens.Just gorgeous to see.You must visit & you will not be sorry.Worth every penny of the admission.Wish I could have stayed longer.Definetly coming back 1 day again.
This botanical garden was huge! Bathrooms were clean and well stocked, and vending machines with drinks, a d aot of nice sitting/resting spots. Took us almost 4 hours and we still didn't see everything! It was so amazing and so many species of cacti I didn't even knew existed! Definitely worth the trip!
An amazing glimpse of the plants across our state bundled with knowledge and information. in addition to being beautiful.
Amazing Christmas event with LOTS to see great entertainment and interesting light shows all equal a great time
Great time beautiful flowers on the cactus throughout the park. Thank you for keeping the park beautiful.
Awesome spot to have a nice, relaxing walk. Very scenic and fantastically located near the center of the Phoenix area. Highly recommend for those who enjoy the outdoor. Dont forget to bring a water bottle!
Visited today, it was very hot and to add to the disappointment, masks were required even though there were very few people in the garden, at least half kept their masks off unless passing other visitors. Way to many trails were closed to the public for some reason. Gift shop would actually make some money if they didn't have such outrageous prices on everything.
If you come into Phoenix or Scottsdale be sure to stop by here for a few hours. The winding trails and scenic dessert plants will have you relaxed and feeling like you are no where close to the metropolis that Phoenix has grown into.
Very well laid out, with frequent guided tours with interpretations, and good services.
Perfect place to take it off town guests to show them the beauty the desert had to offer.
One of my favorite places to visit. They have a fantastic collection of species. I got an annual pass so that I can just go to take walks.
This place has an enormous variety of species and is very well maintained. Highly recommended
Was a beautiful area to explore, so nice to have parks like this in a city where people can access it easily and enjoy.
The entertainment they brought in for the holiday luminaries event was amazing. As were all 8000 luminaries!
This is a great place. I love the layout, the docents are helpful and willing to answer questions even if you are not on a tour. We were there in November so the weather was nice, I can't imagine in the summer. The yearly pass is a good value you can enjoy all year. I can't wait for the Christmas luminarias.
Get the membership to save a ton of money and enjoy the best of our deserts. The gift shop is overpriced, but the views are amazing. It's a long walk so wear comfortable shoes!
Beautiful, tons of different cacti types, a lot of wildlife, can accommodate weddings from 50 to >300 people. Tickets are $25pp, no student discount.
Gorgeous, well maintained gardens. Visit during the week to avoid crowds and be sure to wear a hat and sunscreen.
Great view and beautiful. Although make sure you bring lots of water! Be sure to bring something to take pictures because it's worth it. It's also a great thing to do along with the zoo next door!
The luminaries show is nice. Lots of nice displays, plus bell ringing, carolling and more.
DBG is my absolute favorite place to visit! Of course I have a membership to this fantastic place What's not to love!? Last time I was here it was during a rainstorm- and let me tell you... I LOVED IT! the desert is even more magnificent after a good shower. All of the little critters come out to roam.
It is free on the second Tues of every month! I didn t realize this and bought a twilight ticket ($15) beforehand but thought it was worth it. A beautiful, relaxing place to walk around with clearly marked trails and lots of great facts / tidbits about the plants, animals and Native American tribes. I thought the twilight price was great also because it s less hot at that time, but even if it s hot, there are water fountains stationed in many spots along the garden. Seems great for solo tourists, friends and dates...
I love visiting botanical gardens when I travel. Though I can t grow anything myself, I love the variety of plants around the world. Having lived in the Southeast US all my life, desert flora is completely different from what I am used to, so this was a unique experience for me. The gardens are gorgeous and impeccably maintained. We loved our docent-led tour as well as just exploring on our own. Plants are well-labeled, and educational materials abound. The food in the patio cafe was delicious, and the variety of offerings at the gift shop was great. The sculptures on display added to the visual appeal. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Great and well-kept botanical garden and very nice and attentive staff who are happy to provide information about the local flora. In addition to meter-high cacti, wild hummingbirds can also be observed.
we went for the night lights event with composed music specifically for this event.
everyone was friendly and helpful great experience.
we did have two elders with us and some spots are fairly steep but they do label those trails
Beautiful well designed gardens with some more natural trail loops. A must see collection of cacti from around the world. Amazingly lovely.
Way too expensive! I would have liked to have bought an afternoon ticket and paid $ 5-8 for it, but there is only a $ 25 day ticket.
Kept a membership for a while to see the fun exhibits. There is a lot of beautiful flora and fauna but the butterflies are the most exciting.
Awesome place that always puts on beautiful exhibits, but nothing beats their luminarias event every holiday season.
The statutes have body painting... so which is the art?
Pretty plants, lovely desert, meandering trails. A great way to get in touch with nature.
We picked such a beautiful morning to visit. The flowers were beautiful. Remember sunscreen and a water bottle for your visit.
Went for the luminarias. Great setup and beautiful displays. Would definitely recommend families and couples for the event
Amazing plus well maintained place. Must visit if you're coming to Phoenix or live in Phoenix. Different varieties of cactuses. Can easily spot beautiful butterflies and many birds including humming birds. The trails are fun as well.
