It's pretty cool if you're into cactus and other succulents. If you're into anything else you're kinda screwed here. And by here I mean Arizona.

Really cool. Went at night for the light show. Take your time. A lot to see.
Amazing experience here in the beautiful gardens! Would love to go back here someday
This is on the pricey side, but I felt like it was worth it. The gardens are fairly large. The plants are fantastic. We went a bit before sunset, and the views with cactuses framed in the background we're beautiful. The "Electric Desert" lights and music at night we're also happening. The event was really cool with some extremely trippy lights.
Extremely educational and absolutely beautiful. A gem in the heart of the area. So much to see and learn about the history dating back to it's beginning in 1939!
Excellent cactus gardens with other SW plants, birds, lizards and more.
A must in Phoenix. Especially in the spring, beginning of April, it was magical. A huge number of cacti, yuccas and flowers. Everything arranged really nice.
We enjoy the well maintained Desert Botanical Garden at sunset. Lower entry fee after 5:30. Nicely lit after sundown.
The Garden is the last bastion for many endangered plant species and performs significant work in regards to botanical conservation. If you visit, I encourage you to learn more regarding the Agave plant and native cultures.
Very pretty. I wouldnt want to pay full price for it though.
Captures the beauty of the desert, well documented displays and careful landscaping highlights the natural beauty.
All the to do with having to make reservations and wearing masks, as shame so many areas were closed. What's the matter here.
Las Noches De Las Luminarias was a really cool way to experience the garden. Great place to take folks from out of town to walk and take in the desert.
Beautiful desert flowers and butterflies. Easy trails.
Absolutely gorgeous and quite a bit to do and places to relax butterfly exhibit is so cool
Raw nature. Thank you. I appreciate this place more than the manicured gardens out there. This really does a beautiful job of guiding you into a select area of raw nature settings, where you can experience sitting or walking tours or by yourself, the way nature was intended within theses small settings. While some are unnatural to this region, it allows you to have a more natural experience than say the Huntington. Overall, Descanso is the gem of the garden world in AZ
Nice clean place. Well laid out and easy to navigate. Good signage for the different areas. Photo opportunities were good when i was there.
Love going to DBG. This time we went to the Electric Light Show on Halloween. We also visited one day during the week.
Wonderful experience. We went before dusk, watched the sunset, walked around on the well-lit paths among an inspiring collection of native plants while enjoying a glass of wine. Had dinner at Gertrude's and went back out to the gardens to enjoy the beautiful light and multi-media displays. We are members and really appreciate the work that has been done to improve the gardens over the last few years. Well done!
The docents are old, and angry at the sun. Our docent continuously complained about the sun, even though she is volunteering to be there. I found it annoying, but comical.
Beautiful desert flowers, relaxing walk, fascinating butterfly experience, about a three hour leisurely walk
Loved exploring the myriad shapes that cacti come in. Could have spent all day just smelling the different plants in the herb garden!
Great place for everyone. Plenty of cool exhibits, like the shelter made in the branches of a tree that you can literally walk in.
This is a place you can not miss while in Phoenix. There are many different loops within the garden that vary in length and ecosystems. The only draw back is that it can be extremely hot.
Love this place and the restaurant had delicious gluten free options and a prickly pear margarita that was a fun treat
Everything you want to see in cacti, succulents and desert flora. Great for newcomers to desert glora. We were there in January after a few rains and the flowering flora were a very nice surprise.
We have a membership to the garden and can't get enough. There are a lot of flora and fauna to take photos of. The events they hold here are awesome as well.
GREAT place to see all types of desert plant life. Some cactus were in bloom, and other about to open up. Lovely day, but go early to beat the heat.
Amazing. It has an incredible view during the day, and such a variety of plants and wildlife that you wouldn't think they'd survive in this type of weather. It was too hot tho so, but for the experience of a different environment, it really takes you out of reality
Classy and peaceful, the electric desert display doesn't disappoint!
Been here about 4 times and are amazed each time. We just went for the night light show and it was spectacular. Wonderful way to spend the evening. They also have bars and restaurants open. Great time!
Very good place, well keeped and very interesting if you like desert and gardens
SD Excellent light displays! The buffet was aw3some enough to go just for the buffet! Tender beef you can cut eith ypur fork, pork, potatoes, vegetables, dessert table, soup n salad table, etc.. Staff was exceptionally friendly n helpful!
Not only there are different kinds of cacti, but as long as you pay attention, there are also many cute animals around, which is a good place for photography
