It has everything. The home of one of Ireland's greatest friends and greatest political leader, Daniel O'Connell.

Stunning walks and gardens and easy access to one of Ireland's best Blue flag beaches, Derrynane strand.

One of the best places in Ireland to visit but do not limit your time. That would be a shame.

Absolutely beautiful and a must-see on the Ring of Kerry. Try to go when the bakery/restaurant is open for some great treats. This is also a great place to take kids as the beach has great climbing rocks and small waves if you want to swim. The garden walk has plants from all over the world and is a great escape to get your mind wandering. Parking is free and the lot is sizable. Also, anyone looking to take Instagram or Facebook photos, this is a perfect spot.

Stunning location, nice little cafe, lovely fairy trail for the kids. And the nearby beach was one of the best I've ever been to. Lovely little bay, spacious sandy beach, and epic black volcanic rocks to climb and explore. Worth visiting for the beach alone

One of Ireland's major national monuments, Derrynane House was the home of Daniel O Connell, known as "The Liberator". O Connell is regarded as one of the greatest Irish leaders. A visit to Derrynane House will allow the visitor to gain an insight into the historical and cultural background of O Connell's work and achievements in the first half of the 19th century. Viewing of Derrynane House is by guided tour only. The House itself now forms part of a National Historic Park , with a wider context in terms of other historic monuments in the area, the natural landscape of sea, beach and mountains and the flora and fauna of this beautiful part of County Kerry. For visitors, there is a nearby parking area, toilets, picnic benches and a cafe.

Very interesting historical house. Informative 20 minute video presentation. Beautiful gardens. Lovely afternoon spent exploring the grounds. Lunch is available. Toilets were pristine. Can highly recommend.
