THE TWIN TOWERS
They reveal the connection of some of the kamikazes with officials of the Saudi Arabian embassy in the United States.
After remaining in the shadows and classified as high security, the Obama Administration released the 28 "lost" pages of the official report on what happened in the attacks of September 11, 2001 and had been prepared by a special committee of the Senate U.S. It had been known for some time that these pages had information about the contacts of the kamikazes with officials of the Saudi government and that the then president George W. Bush had not wanted them to meet to avoid a confrontation with a key ally in the fight against terrorism. But what is now known are accurate data that some of the 15 aircraft hijackers (of the 19 who participated in the plot) of Saudi origin, received direct support from people related to the embassy of the kingdom in Washington and the consulate in The Angels.
The first two kamikazes of the al Qaeda terrorist network that arrived in the United States to prepare the attacks were Nawaf al Hazmi and Khalid al Mihdar, who flew directly from Kuala Lumpur, in Malaysia, to Los Angeles after participating in a summit in which it was decided to go ahead with the idea of hijacking commercial aircraft to crash them in emblematic buildings in the United States. Hazmi and Mihdar settled in the city of San Diego and began taking classes to fly planes.
His contact was an official of the Saudi consulate in California, Fahad al Thumairy and a well-known Saudi agent named Omar al Bayoumi, who had as cover a supposed job as a builder in an aviation company. United with the names of some of the kidnappers and there appeared the phone number of the company in Aspen, Colorado, which manages the vacation residence that Ambassador Bandar had there. During the interrogations to which Zubaydah was subjected, according to FBI files, he said he had made the necessary contacts to facilitate the entry of the kamikazes into the United States and their residence until the attacks occurred.

Although the president of the commission that wrote the official report on the performance of the intelligence services before and after 9/11, Tom Kean, and his vice president, Lee Hamilton, assure that the subsequent investigations of the FBI could never finish connecting to the kamikazes with some kind of plot by officials of the Saudi government. The investigation is not closed and the declassification of the famous 28 pages does not dispel any of the doubts.

the service was horrible, the guard at the front gate was all like "you can't be here, this is a restricted area" how dare he, i so wanted to visit some of those prop gun rooms to buy one for my son for his birthday. at least they had free vitamin pills and nice looking, quite comfy chairs (though they did give me a big electric shock...)

Interesting place if you get a tour. Not that interesting from the ground, you can't really appreciate it's shape, and I'm sure many people walk or drive past it without knowing. Be careful where you take pictures, it's not allowed in certain areas and not unheard of for the security to interrogate you and confiscate your memory card/film.

By metonymy, in the common and journalistic language, the term "Pentagon" often means the Department of Defense rather than the building itself. Unlike almost all federal offices - located in the built-up area of Washington - the Pentagon is located just outside the boundaries of the US Capital, in the county of Arlington, Virginia, on the right bank of the Potomac River.
