This place won't collect from my ex who is almost 400,000 in debt because he never paid anything for his kids. But, they will charge my son more money than he makes for his kids because his ex lied on the paperwork. They apparently never looked at the paperwork he sent in, so why do they even send it out? My son was fully cooperative with paying support. He has no objection to supporting his kids but he has to live too. Besides it doesn't take 1600.00 for two young kids that stay at the mothers parent's house all time. That's just extra spending money for a greedy person.
They will Fraudulently add money to your case and the case workers threaten you...
The call center workers here are too busy reading notes and judging cases to do what's right. If you dont talk to them right or if they are not feeling you, you won't get serviced properly. They won't give you information you need because they are VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. If THEY deem you a "deadbeat" from what they read, You wont get fair treatment or proper information ...But they are only as good as the leader(dept manager) THEE worst place I've EVER EXPERIENCED! I know now why they mismanaged my case that I had! THIS DEPARTMENT NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED!!
They help you with child support and other child services.
By far the worst people to deal with. When you call to find out information, no one is at their desk. I asked to speak to a supervisor and guess what? They were away from there desk as well. They told me within 48 hours I will hear back from them, it's been 96 and still no word.
They really try and help the kids.. They are always in the community spreading awareness. It is so important that both patents contribute to their children's future. We appreciate the work of child support workers.
Absolutely Horrible Customer Service. These employees really sound like they hate their life, their job and everyone around them. Instead of making something easy, they make sure to make it difficult. God bless their mean souls
I wish I could rate this place 0 stars. Horrible. They never tried to find my child's father to get a case going, and the ONE time he reached out to them after years, they were trying to help him get visitation. What kind of place is this? Obviously it's visitation assistance, not child support.
3 stars ,because it's all about who you get to help you out ,most wanna jist side with the mother ,I guess dad's cant be the mother too in most situations
If your struggling and have no job get your lazy as a job for all woman and dad's...and about this company some agents are nice but mine is a total jerk I been paying my child support I miss one payment he wants to suspend my license I called him and i told him the situation he doesn't give one dam about it !!

When they answer the phone they say "we help your child have a better life". this is a lie. My child now lives with me, i am a struggling single mother. her aunt was fraudulently collecting support for my daughter aty a time when the aunt no longer had her. I have called the Fraud dept NUMEROUS times and they do not respond. SO, it is ON ME to pay the money even though my daughter LIVES with me. I am STRUGGLING as it is to make ends meet and the KERN COUNTY CHILD SUPPORT OFFICE wants to take away my drivers license. they are FORCING me to pay money that I don't have for a child that LIVES WITH ME. So, it has NOTHING to do with helping my child have a better life and EVERYTHING to do with this corporation wanting their money.
The people are helpful I don't have nothing against them I just don't like the system or the d.a.

Cant' even pick up a dam phone call. Always like this. Been waiting more than 10 minutes but I'm sure they do this on purpose since its 4 o'clock. I called Friday they were going to put me with someone I can talk to, they "accidentally" hanged up I called back right away and all I got was a sorry were closed! Pathetic!
Even after years of paying off my child support I have to deal with them. Earlier this year I refinanced my home and was delayed because their was a lein on my home from Child Support Services, when I finally got a hold of someone they told me that someone just failed to do their job.
Yesterday I received a letter saying I was going to be garnished $750 a month for unpaid child support, they told me if they were sent any funds they would just send it to me, I had to tell them to submit the proper paperwork to stop it and email me a copy of the proof child support is paid in full so I can also submit it.

Very unreliable and unprofessional. Takes about a week to get a call back, left notes on when they should call me, due to my work schedule and they can never call on the dates. When I asked to speak to manager, I was put on hold just for them to tell me they weren t in there office?? Then I asked to speak to a lead, supervisor or anyone else they said they think they went to lunch. I m not sure if this is true but if it is who s running and watching the place while they re gone and why isn t there lunch split, so someone with Authority is present at all times. As a dad that s been paying child support, this place is of no help. I find it better calling other county s in California for answers when it comes to my case. I been dealing with this Child support center for about 5 years and it s a mess. Go in person to deal with paper don t call, or Fax they ll beat around the bush and push you off.
I have recently been receiving back child support for my 30 year old daughter and 26 year old son. Two dead beets never paid anything. They got my daughters father first, whoand now on my sons father - can you believe he had the audacity to ask me to call and drop the case? He even said " what, you think it's owed to you or something " Really??? Uhhhhh that's a huge NO!! Especially after that comment you'll pay till the day you no longer can or you take that final dirt nap! The kids suffered through your lack of court Kern Co Child Support Division is doing what they can with all the issues of dead beat parents out their. I think you guys rock and keep up the awesome job you do!!
This places is the most biased place there is they are so nice to all the women that come in there and they are rude and short worded with the men and I've been in there more than once and it's always the same all the women are very rude and mean to the men but the other women that come in there they're very nice too there are no men that are working there anymore the men that were working there and talk to the men that were paying child support were actually nice and more helpful than the women the women are withholding information that could help men because their bias and think all men are scum because they're trying to lower their payments so they can survive because the child support services has the right to take out insurance for them without them even having their constitutional right of picking a health plan for themselves they're picked for them and this is not a bias opinion because I am a woman
(ZERO STARS; that one star was automatic in order to post) I'm with you, Christina Grace. The same exact situation, except it was the Paternal Grandparents that were collecting on one of my sons, while my son was living with me in an apt in the building managed by the grandparents. When I went to apply for assistance, as we were brand new to Bakersfield, and unemployed, I was told I could not receive benefits for my son, because they already had a case open on him!!! So as the grandparents received monies that should have went to me and my son, and I had absolutely no income, the Grandparents evicted me from the apt for non-payment of rent. Rent was $400, the check they received from welfare was $390; so actually my rent WAS paid! And naturally, when the X-in-laws opened the case, they didn't offer up their son's name (who's never paid a dime of child support) to be judged responsible for this NEVER-ENDING debt to the falsely named Child Support Enforcement Agency. Now, 14 years later, the debt has reached $32K for the second time, as at one time when it was 30K, I paid $800/Mo. and it went down to $12K. now, 6 yrs later, the alleged debt is $32Kagain, mostly interest. My son is 29 years old, and he never received any benefit from this so-called child support. When I was paying $800/mo, and the monthly statements they send out, claimed they applied it all to the principle, and the X-in-laws never received ANY of it!!

The girl in the computer guest center is Alva I believe, she is just awesome! She helped me fill in a form online and made me copies and even offered to fax it for me. She didn't have to do any of that but she did and I completely saved a trip to far far Norris Road. Its so cool to know that there are still people out there who really enjoy and want to help. Go Child Support office for having such great employees!

Haven't had any problem really every time I call someone answers but there messing up my renewal they have been sent several emails an have not responded
I just got screwed out of child support for the rest of this year because these people are completely biased towards mothers! They couldn't care less for the fathers who have full custody! They purposely wouldn't tell me when my court date was even though I asked several times! They said I will be notified. But I never was notified! And when I called to ask about my case, on the day court was suppose to be, they said to call back in a couple days! They screwed me out of the rest of the year of child support because I'm trying to be a good father!! Even though the mother chose drugs over her kids, I get screwed because this pos office and their mother loving employees screwed me out of an entire year of help! Thanks a lot child support only for mothers!!!

0 stars isn't possible. This establishment is a joke - full of small town people with a chip on their shoulder. There is a serious bias happening. I am a stay at home mother - this means I have no income. I was working for a very short time, maybe 20 hours per week at the most. I had an order put on me after my ex LIED about the amount of money I made and the hours I worked. After trying to explain this to a case worker -- with proof of his false information (she looked like someone just went to a truck stop and said "we need a case worker for CS!" and grabbed the first lizard that slithered up to volunteer), she told me that if I tried to fight it again, I would get the max that they could take me for. He has a full time job making more than I could ever hope to make, I am struggling to pay all of my bills and on assistance myself! Kern County does not care about honesty, it cares about oilfield men and money.
This agency isn't here to help families. It is purely a money scam with a bunch of small town losers who are angry at the world.

Very poor service. Son's mother was arrested left the state and I've had full custody of our son for over 10 months. Mother hasn't even had visits yet this department hasn't stopped garnishment of my paychecks. I've called went in and done everything necessary to get them to realize I have our son and he has needs medical school etc, and all they can say is it is being reviewed and you're on you're on for any overpaid amount that's not our fault. It was court ordered and I brought court orders into them and they didn't even acknowledge me as human just played the it's being reviewed were going to keep charging you and not give you back anything because we don't care it's not about the child it's about the case worker and all they see is $$$$ signs . Can't charge someone who's locked up etc so we will just delay stopping charging a upstanding father because he's a guaranteed cash pot. I feel they're sexist and they need a wake up call ..

Absolutely do not care about the fact that my daughter has been living with me the father and the mother tried to stop all support related issues and wipe the slate clean between us. Obviously they said no and I have to pay off the balance even though it's getting low. This place is completely biased. No matter how wonderful the father may be and no matter how good the relationship between the parents, this place loves to drag the father through the mud.
