I worked for DPR as a Rec Instructor and it was an absolute NIGHTMARE. Literally the worst job I've ever had. I quit after 4 weeks for the sake of my own mental health. My site leader regularly screamed at the children to the point of constituting child abuse. Abosolutely zero organization or communication. Glenn E. Riley is an embarrassment to this organization and should not hold the position he does. Absolutely horrifying.

I moved to Denver in July 2018, and initially got a pass to have access to the community pool in Curtis Park. Since joining, I have checked out 5 other rec centres, attended boxing classes, barre and yoga classes, yoga on paddle boards, gone rock climbing at Carla Madison, and done many other awesome activities. I hope the people of Denver know just how lucky they are to have the services provided by the Parks and Rec department in Denver.

Majestic Mountains

Majestic Mountains
is in the front range of the Rockies, and any park in the mountains will give you beauty, breath taking views and exercise. Depending on when you go, you may also see a lot of people. The mountain parks attract a lot of visitors, so be prepared to share nature. If you are able to get on any trail,...

15mph bike speed limit. What a joke. Stop real crime you tyrants. Get a life and a uniform that matches the cement jungle you work in. Why the need for forest service uniforms, makes them feel cool I guess.

Had a terrible experience xmas eve at red rocks. Ticketed $150 for straying off trail then received threatening lecture from lil man with big ego and no Xmas spirit. Stay clear of the place if you re looking for more than a manicured trail, lots of people, etc..

The Board of Directors of Friends and Neighbors (FANS) of Washington Park met last night and expressed our unanimous congratulations for such a successful resurfacing of the major tennis courts in Washington Park. The quality and "playability" of the courts is outstanding. The time taken to resurface the courts was very reasonable. Thank you for providing beautiful and functional tennis courts for Denver residents and visitors.

Denver Parks and Rec can't seem to figure out how to reopen Rec Centers even though there are examples all around the city (other cities) to show how it can be done safely through a reservation system. Having this wonderful amenity is worthless if it is not open for use.

The trails are fine but after my experience today I know I won't be coming back. I warn dog owners that if you don't put your dogs on a leash right away a park ranger will write you a ticket because apparently they don't believe in warnings. My girlfriend and I where getting out of the car to hike and we let the dogs out really quick while we got the leashes. NOT EVEN 1 MINUTE AFTERWARDS a park ranger by the name of Launy Smith pulls up and without warning writes us a 250$ citation one of the dogs whent poop and even though we picked it up he still wrote us a fine for not only failure to pick up the poop "even though we did" but also for failure to put our dogs on a leash he even took both our names, our dogs names, there ages, breed, and even proceeded to ask if we owned both the dogs. That's none of his business. Launy Smith was not friendly, not understanding, and gave no warning. I highly suggest NOT GOING TO ANY of the parks on lookout mountain if you have dogs. Because of Launy Smith's rude way of dealing with the extremeley unfair situation we will personally never go back. We were fined a total of $250 for not putting our dogs on a leash within a minute??? Wow I'm apauled by this behavior and it needs to change. This was the absolute worst experience I have EVER HAD!
