I have tried several times to change my payment method but cannot get through to anyone at customer service. The website login in does not work for some reason? And I too still received a bill for $50 after a cleaning. I had BCBS for years and never had any issues.

Worst dental insurance ever! I have had this insurance for almost one year now and I have never been able to get through to customer service, their website has never worked and, the phone number on their website doesn't work either. They do not send you an explanation of Benefits (EOB) when you have treatment so you don't know what the dentist billed for, etc. Also, when you have treatment, they don't notify your health savings account so that you can be reimbursed. So you have to file a claim yourself and of course, the health savings account ppl need a copy of the EOB to be able to reimburse you. What a nightmare! The only time I have ever heard from them was a week ago. They sent me an email to remind me its time to renew my policy! If you look over these reviews, going back 4 years, you see the same complaints over and over which tells me Delta Dental doesn't care. They make a bigger profit by not providing the coverage in your contract. And they do this by making it impossible to communicate with them. Never again! Those who say they have received good customer service and care are the lucky few. Most of us can't say that!

I had Deltal Dental as a faculty member for the University of Arkansas Department of Agriculture. I used a Dentist named Paul Burton of Cantrell Family Dentistry and Delta Dental paid for most everything I had done. Hence don't tell me that insurance doesn't pay off.
However, I heard Paul Burton was on the Board of Directors of Delta Dental so I kept going to him. I was under the impression that his office would know best how to take advantage of the insurance. My mother, an expert on dentist (or should have been because she had tons of work on plates and appliances ) advised me to quit Burton but I didn't. Burton is NOT on the board now.
So this is the reason I don't give them five stars now and hope you read this far. I think Delta Dental is outstanding but be sure and be an INFORMED BUYER when it comes to the dentist you use. Some of Paul's work on me became very suspect within less than a year.

Amazingly, their "website has been down" for three months so I can't register my account. Great first experience with having dental insurance, 0/10

(Everytime I call to register my account, they tell me there is an issue with the site. And then give me the same generic response I'm getting to this review.)

I have filled insurance for 20 years and this is the worst company to deal with. I can never get through to customer service to actually speak to a person to get answers on a claim. Getting on the line in under 40 minutes is not an option with this company. If you can not accommodate the in flux of calls you may want to think about hiring people who can answer the call and the questions.

Horrible, lying company that actively tries to rip off its members by not providing the coverage they claim they will. Don't listen to a word they say it's only to get your money and leave you stranded after the dental work. Worst of the worst

This company lobbied and donated $500,000 to mandate the fluoridation of water in municipalities over 5,000 residents in Arkansas. This is incredibly unethical given current studies about dental florosis, neurotoxicity, developmental disabilities, etc.

I've been with Delta Dental for 5 years. They have always done what they said and sent checks to me in an appropriate time frame. Recently, I moved and one check didn't get to me so I never cashed it. Delta sent me notification of this and a way I could ask them to reissue the check. I am grateful they are looking out for me.
I called to change me address and once I got through the automation to a person, she was super kind, very helpful and resolved my issues right away.

Applied for a position with this company 3 times. Call and ask to speak with HR and nothing. New to the state and stable work history having the same job for the last 9 years in customer service (call center), but this company doesn't even show the slightest interest or pretend to want to workers that don't job hop. The generic email at this time is a bit insulting because it's obvious that my resume isn't even looked at.

I have had Delta Dental for four months. I went in for my first cleaning. I received a bill for the cleaning for $50. I called an inquired about the charge and was informed that that is my yearly deductible. Cleanings are supposed to be free but that after you pay the deductible. Essentially you pay $290 for dental insurance. If you only need cleanings you would pay $160 cash to the dentist. Before you join Delta you should really do the math. A HSA would be a better option unless you need a lot of work.

After countless calls I still received no help and ended each call even more confused. Hands down the worst customer service ever!! All I got were excuses. No one ever took responsibility or made a committed to helping me.
