Its was a nice beach loved it. Made me feel like I had a private beach for myself. Not much people there. You can go bike riding too.

A lovely walk to the beach, not crowded beach, very clean facilities (laundry and shower), water and electric hookup, fun playground, friendly staff, history, short bike ride into the charming town of Lewes....all of these things contribute to my 5 star review.
Beautiful beach ... away from all the craziness of travelers !! Kids had a blast !!
Very beautiful and relaxing. Lots of outdoors activity!
I have been coming here for years and love it. It's close to Rehoboth if you want to drive to the boardwalk, but not as crowded. You don't have to fight for parking or remember to pay the meter every 2 hours. (You do pay an entrance fee.) There's a snack bar, bathrooms, showers, and changing rooms. People can also fish, hike and camp here. Great park with a decent amount to do on site, and even more in the area.
Free bikes. Great facilities. Folks take care of this park well.
Probably one of the nicest campgrounds within the Northeast; nestled within pine trees, which is just a short walk through natural dunes and onto the beach.. The campground has been newly renovated with full hookups, newly paved road and site pads, as well as new fire rings; they also have new facilities and a very well stocked camp store.
Great place, we fished, enjoyed the beach, nice bait shop. Daily admittance fee was fair.
Love this beach.Clean and family friendly. The park itself is beautiful. Lots to do.
I love going to the beach so this place is a okay if you want to go to the beach
My first visit to Cape Henlopen State Park. It was a warmish or just a not cold day. Good day for a walk. What a great park! Lots of cyclers out as well as walkers. My walk was short but you get "lost" in the dunes and scrub pines. Nice scenery. The watch towers are very interesting. You can go up to the top of some. I'm going back with my bicycle because there are lots of interconnecting trails if you want to ride 20+ miles on paved paths.
One of the best places to get some quiet time during off season. During the summer it can get a little tedious getting in because it is such a popular spot for hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, and surfing.
Generally, a very good park. Clean, quiet, and a good bargain for staying at the beach. An issue if you bring an RV, though. If you get a site with water, bring up to 75' of hose. Sites can be long, but shallow, so the water hookup can be a long way away, and nowhere near where you'd want to park, near the firepit and picnic table. They laid it out with one common water riser for two sites. My understanding is that they are adding some full hookup sites for 2015. Hopefully, they'll lay them out a little better.
This is by far the best park in Delaware. A very unique place with great trails, walk-in beaches, drive on beaches, and for surfing. A must stop if you are in the area.
Amazing place, constantly being maintained and expanded, the trails are amazingly peaceful and rich with the history of WW2 that you can find if you look carefully.
Went to the drive on/fishing beach. Not as crowded. Only downside is the bathrooms are further away.
Always fun park to go to. Must stop when in the area.
Absolutely love this place as well as other parks in Delaware. So much beauty. Didn't nearly have time to see everything n it was pretty hot. I was annoyed with the fort miles museum! They closed off the closest parking lot so we were forced to walk much farther in the heat. Then we get to two trails with one sign pointing up saying fort miles museum, the other simply said open. So we walked quite a way up until we reached the top to find the museum but the doors were locked at this entrance!!! Would it have killed them with it being so unbearably hot to put something on the signs to clarify that the one path was closed and to go to the other path?!!! Can you imagine if we had a pile of kids or someone elderly or in a wheelchair going up that path only to find you can't get in? By the time we found out about being on the wrong path, we were so exhausted and overheated, we no longer had any interest in going in! So I hope that some person who works in that museum can take five minutes to put up the appropriate sign about which way to go before you UNNECESSARILY give someone heat stroke!!! And at least allow handicapped people to park closer. Most people with issues cannot walk that far in hot weather. Have some compassion!
I will go back to explore the park further but I'm staying away from that museum! I learned my lesson!
Bathrooms/showers meh ok. Most things like beach or activities are a long walk or short drive. Clean, friendly, felt safe. If you like beach going short ride to McBride bathhouse from camp site get there early. Some crowded pier fishing as well. Spot A09 was huge for a family of 6.
Beautiful and CLEAN!!! The new museum/bunker access is really awesome and certainly sends you back in time. The tower climb gave way to such a breathtaking view. The beach we chose to go on was not crowded at all but is more of a shallow swimming and the kids found plenty of rocks, shells, hermit crabs, etc.
Don't go in August hot, not all campsites are shaded, and the black flies will have you swatting all day
Love the Gordon's Pondand Junction Breakwater trail!
Beautiful state park. Lots of parking. Wheelchair accessible to the beach. I saw lots of people camping. We were only there for the day, but it was lovely.
If you're taking the ferry, take an extra couple of hours to checkout Cape Henlopen. The local history is extremely interesting.
the park, and campground are gorgeous. 1 star because camping here is like living in a really bad HOA. The camp hosts take their volunteer duties too seriously, and are quite rude in their communications with campers e.g. we camped for 3 days, a car and truck at site e21 no issue. 3rd night we returned from the beach and were inside our RV when I noticed 2 camp hosts parked in a cart next to our site pointing at my truck and taking notes- I stood on my steps, watched this, made eye contact with the camp host, they ignored me and left. 20 min later a park ranger rolls up swat style beating on my door telling us to move our car.
next day we were leaving and my brake lights didnt work. its 12:10 and I am changing the blown fuse when camp host pulls up and tells me to vacate the site immediately and finish repairs in overflow lot. What a jerk. Wont return. dont like camping with NAZIs!
Best place for swimming, dolphin sightings and sunshine!
Very nice and beautiful place to stay for a day or for camping. Few beaches, one is with calm water, perfect for kids. Pier is good for fishing. There are few picnic areas as well. Spent every weekend there this year and it was great
Great place to visit..and drive out on the beach...
Great beach, nice and clean. Had a lady try to use her kid as an excuse for why they were both going through our bags so of course keep and eye on your stuff but that's anywhere.
Great spot to go to the beach, ride on trails, and walk.
Greatest place for a cheep swim in the ocean. $5.00 in state, $10.00 out of state per vehicle to enter park. Easy access to park with handicap parking and entrance with handicap bathrooms and stalls. Free showers in bathhouse.
There are camp sites and access to public restrooms with handicap bathroom and stalls. Must reserve sites ahead of time. Full up for season. Call park office for further information.
Deer come out at dusk. Drive with caution, many bike riders on trails.
I reccomend this place. My family loves the beach. Sometimes the dauphins swim by very close to the beach.
Love love love this place, we come here ever chance we get. Great spaces, people and scenery
A beautiful state park with tons of history and a plethora of things to do and places to explore. Park at the Point Lot just north of Tower #9 to check out the sunrise / sunset.
Great all around state park. Best trails for a great trek about...lots to see.
Fort Miles is a wonderful historic site and the beaches are terrific. All within walking distance of the camp sites.
First time visiting the park. Great fishing pier. Plus the kids had a blast in the rentable kayaks
First time to go here and we love it here than Rehoboth. Definitely going back again
Cape Henlopen State Park is wonderful. It is on the site of a former army base that was built in World War II. A lot of the fort is still there including the observation towers.
They have two beaches. The most popular one is on the Atlantic Ocean. The other one is on the bay. There is also a very nice fishing pier that comes out from that beach.
There is also a very nice nature center too.
The campground is a little crowded but still very nice.
I really liked this place the bathrooms are clean. You have to pay $ 10 to enter if you are not a rehoboth resident
Always a beautiful place to visit. Great for every age. Only a few minutes to the Rehobeth beach and Boardwalk. Observation towers, private beaches, bay and ocean access, fishing, biking. Stunning views. The Delaware beaches are a hidden gem. Very affordable to camp and camp ground is clean clean clean. Love this place.
Beautiful state park
Campground was great. Bathrooms perfectly clean, so many great trails, so much to see, beautiful beaches. Absolutely recommend this place for a great camping trip.
Great park for camping, biking, and going to the beach. They've also got WWII era military museum for those interested in military history. Camp site accommodates RVs, pop ups, and offers primitive camping sites and cabins. Camp store sells camping basics. Laundry, utility sink, small playground, bathrooms and showers and miles of biking trails are among the amenities. Fire pits are well built. Friendly hosts are on duty each day.
It's a great park! Good to ride a bike and make a picnic!
The park can get busy during the summer but during the fringe seasons like spring and fall, the weather is perfect, the bugs are minimal, maybe everyone can have a good time doing most any activity.
Hawk Watch. Saw my first Merlin!! Great site for hawks, Falcons and Eagles. Oh, Fly Eagles Fly.
We visited in September when the park was open for surf fishing. Without a permit, we drove as far as we could, and then walked all the way to the tip of Cape Henlopen. It was worth the long walk. The current churns up the waves right at the tip, and seabirds were flying above the water, diving in repeatedly after whatever delectables were being stirred up. Take a few hours to make this walk. It's something we will never forget.
Beautiful beach easy accessible . nice nature center my kids and family enjoyed it .
Great park. Lots of nice paved trails to ride bike on. Beaches are well taken care of. They also have a disc golf course throughout the park. Only downside is that its $10/day for out of state visitors. But if you stay for a while it is well worth it. They have bath houses and snack bar to grab some food.
Nice park when in Rhode Island. Would stay here again.
Great simple park for anyone who wants to hang at a beach
Beautiful place, has access to various beaches, bike path, hiking trails, 2GM museum and artifacts and good camping spots with facilities, highly recommended
